different if it were not a physical thing, but intentionally jumpscaring isn't harmless for ppl with some common conditions. even an otherwise healthy person could faint and be injured. it's just not the place for it.

@@romanusmercenarius255 This is harassment, they are scaring people for laughs, and someone could have medical conditions, like high blood pressure, an elderly man could collapse in shock, and need an ambulance, if anyone dies, they will serve a lifetime in jail, it may be a little extreme, but calling the police may have been the best thing.

I used to work at Forever 21 and we had a few mannequins worth around $2,000-$2,500 (our location one of the few upscale ones so got the good stuff). We also had plenty of cheap ones, but all the upper floor ones were the expensive ones, and only people on the visual merchandizing team were allowed to touch them. Lots of things can go into a mannequins price and the prices you find online aren’t a great example because a lot of retailers buy from companies who don’t typically sell to the general public and therefore you can’t find their prices online. While I definitely think $5,000 is an exaggeration, being in the thousands isn’t.
Some things that can go into the price are: is the torso, both legs, and both arms removable? Are the hands removable? Is there a face? (Some even have removable faces), and mainly, what is it made out of?
The higher quality ones are typically the most fragile so us visual merchandisers don’t like the sales associates touching them, and especially not customers cause you can never trust them to be careful and those things are HEAVY so you gotta be realllly careful. I know these dude meant no harm and it looks like they were pretty careful but I understand why the employees were on edge about it, especially if they’ve been chewed out themselves by the visual team for touching them. Honestly the visual’s probably told them they were $5,000 just to scare them to not touch them lol. I’ve seen so many sales associates drop mannequins before 😭 (luckily only the cheap ones though cause they all knew better than to try and touch the nice ones)
