CM Punk: *Talks about Ryback for 15 seconds and spends rest of the video talking about Vince and his injuries* Wrestling Shoot Clips: Lets call this video "CM Punk on Ryback"!!!
Punk was a freaking workhorse as the WWE champion!!! His feuds vs Cena and The Rock were HUGE enough to warrant no rivalry with anyone during Nights Of Champions till Survivor Series. That's how a LOT of big champions defended their titles.
He's just the lost the plot over the years because he could never get his head round the fact he didn't become a big star and is so bitter and blames everyone else when the fact is he sucked
It’s kinda funny as I’m listening to this after seeing Rock return last night in 2024 and Punk speaking on how does losing to a 45 year old guy who wrestles once a year make him look big. It appears that he’s returned to wrestle Roman and he blew himself up like crazy so that’s going to be interesting to see how things go with that. And that rock may potentially leap over the Cody thing that fans wanted last year but patiently waited on for this year and/or may prevent it from happening which really sucks. It’s cool to see rock but if you knew he was getting involved would’ve been nice to make the moment happen instead of losing it bowl
I think the one thing we all should appreciate is that the one thing Punk permanently did with this interview was that it killed ANY chance of Ryback ever being in a ring again
Colt claimed that him and Punk were going to share a lawyer and that Punk would reimburse him of his legal fees. Colt hired another lawyer because his side was no longer being handled by Punk's legal team, but he still demanded that Punk reimburse him of his fees anyway, even though they were no longer sharing the same legal team. Punk then countersued Colt claiming extortion and that Colt violated their verbal contract. It was eventually settled for no compensation
He spoke at a weird cadence. What he actually said was that Tuesday, he left for Smackdown after he did RAW. He wasn't saying that RAW was on Tuesday. I get why you might think that's what he was saying. But, listen again. You'll see what I'm saying. Btw: RAW hasn't ALWAYS happened on a Monday either. There have been times where it occurred on other days of the week, such as when they did Thursday RAW Thursday.
Pretty sure he was referring to The Undertaker when he said that, that's why he said 'no disrespect' because he knows how respected Taker is, none less by Vince. Taker would have been around 47-48 at that time (2013) actually, but anyway.
@@StevenR84 Vince was saying 'you're gonna be the hottest heel after wrestlemania' in that conversation. He never wrestled Rock at Wrestlemania, only the Royal Rumble and a rematch at I think Elimination Chamber. He wanted to wrestle Rock, wanted a 3-way in the mainevent but he never got it. So who he would have been referring to was The Undertaker, whom he wrestled at Mania 29 and obviously went over.
@@StevenR84 for context he I'm pretty sure said 'a 45 year old man who wrestles once a year' and while he was 2-3 years off on the age, Taker by that point did pretty much wrestle only once a year. Meanwhile Rock's last proper match was against Cena at that same Mania. So yes, similar but he was referring to The Undertaker.
I've never heard CM Punk say anything good about anyone. He also has burned a bridge at every step of his career, publicly falling out with pretty much every company he's ever worked for and even with his own brother. So idk these types of claims coming from him mean little to me. If you are having issues with people everywhere you go, it is time to look in the mirror.
If you let EVERYONE call you a Punk, you must be a ??? Never had a bad thing to think about him until he honestly thought he could just jump over to mma?
Vince just don't see much in many wrestlers. Vincent's obsession with muscle bound guys made him unable to replicate the Ora of Hulk Hogan in the 80s that carried the WWF. Ryback is "the looks". But talent in the ring... eh. He debuted in 2012 repackaged as The Ryback... and quickly got the WCW Goldberg treatment... squash matches with nobody's, feed me more, feed me three 😂 nonsense. The guy was clearly not ready for the big one.. he was green. It's clear Punk was unhappy with the decision to push Ryback despite the outcry of Goldberg Comparison and apparent stiff work ethic. But hey, Bret Hart still cries Bill Goldberg legimately hurt him in WCW with that God Awful kick that ended the man's career 27 years later in interviews all round bret bashes Goldbergs in ring work style.. Punk had the well deserved HEEL Run of the 2010s. His rise to prominence during his summer of Punk was similar to what was done in ROH... It was the style of his final days of his WWE career. His final run was the biggest star in the company. - Punk beat Cena in Chicago at MITB 2011 and walked out literally with the WWE Title. The clock strikes midnight you never see Punk again.... he walked straight out of the company that didn't think he was a good enough fit if it wasn't that Paul E saw something in him. Punk would never been The Guy in 2011.. - Punk def Cena again at Summerslam and the decision to have Alberto Cash in during this was insane! Alberto lost everything at the expense of killing CM Punks Best Work Ethic since his heel run in 2009. Punks downfall ultimately drew the line at the wrong man winning. Hunter DID NOT NEED that win against Phil at Night of Champions. Despite Punk having a WWE Title run of a lifetime... all his momentum started draining after a loss to The Rock.... then sticking around and losing another Big One, this time against Undertaker at WrestleMania 29. Then losing to Brock lesnar at Summerslam after a hiatus. Punk was burnt out with nagging injuries, a road doctor gave him the ok to compete. He got given laxatives and performed on Smackdown against Dean Ambrose and literally SHIT himself in the ring. He wanted The Shield to "go over" at TLC 2013....

Vince isn't really in charge anymore. Punk wouldn't be back at all if that were the case. Vince didn't even want him backstage to visit, let alone back as a wrestler. That's how big his ego is. Triple H seems to know business is business, and second chances are good. And with how crazy people have gone over punk being back, I highly doubt triple H will do anything to piss him off enough to make him want to leave again
