WE HAVE A WINNER! 🎉🎉🎉 CONGRATULATIONS TO MICHELE INCLAN for winning the Teaching Textbooks for one year! Check your email for details. THANK YOU to all you entered and I hope you are enjoying the Teaching Textbooks free trial! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
I entered, thanks! I have been wondering about this curriculum as well. I am not great at math and would be excited if this would be a great fit for us.
Thank you for this review. I know it’s kind of old, but you answered my main question which was: is this a good supplement to a core math curriculum? And you said that’s how you use it. I think we will use it with Math with Confidence or RightStart. Cuz I have the entire RS Math stuff but I’m kinda leaning toward switching to MWC based on your and other’s reviews. Thanks again!! Love your channel cuz I’m a scatter brained mom too and I KNOW I can do this but it helps to have some encouragement and you are great at providing that ❤
Thanks for your review! We are doing the free trial this summer. I hope it goes well because I have one that really melts down at math time and I'm looking forward to the break from it!
love love love it! thank you for giving us your input. I also was bit skeptical due to the popularity. This video gave me the info needed to try it and hopefully win a year of online... yes homeschooling different littles may be chaotic but perhaps this will easy the chaos :) thank you for the amazing video!!!
Can you please share what you use for their core math? I too have a child that loves all the things you described like manipulatives and hands on. That’s the method that works well for us. I’m considering TT because it’s hard for me to find time for teaching her regular math. But I don’t love the idea of doing online when she likes manipulatives and actual learning in real life ways.
I love the idea about using it as a supplement. You mention 3 days. Will you have them doing core math on the same days they do TT? And how long is each TT lesson ?
Great question! I probably should have addressed that in the video... TT is about 15 minutes per lesson. (Unless the kids take their time on the problems... it can stretch out to 25-30 minutes). I plan on having them do Core math 3 days a week. So sometimes it will overlap with TT, and one day a week it will just be TT.
You mentioned you use a different math curriculum as your core math and TT as a supplement. Would you mind sharing what your main math is because it sounds what I also enjoy/look for in a curriculum? I just realized what I had been using is actually only K-2 so I'm now on the hunt for a good hands-on, manipulative/activity/game based curriculum.
Okay, for my 3rd Grader, He used 3rd Grade Math With Confidence for his main math. For my 6th Grader, she ended up using Teaching Textbooks only. I couldn't figure out how to use another program, so we just stuck with the one. :) Teaching Textbooks is not a good hands on math, sadly. I think the best one is Math with Confidence, but it's only k-2 right now, but Singapore may be a good one to look into.
Sorry! I forgot to respond! I have not gotten the hard copy workbook. I think that would help some kids if they want to follow along with paper and pencil, but it’s not necessary.
Hi I entered this awesome giveaway! Thanks! We will be giving it a try for 3rd grade. Im also a mom to 3 with baby number 4 coming beginning of next school year so I know it’ll be perfect timing to start an online program to help with time 🙂
Correct! But There is a workbook option, that you can order or print out if you wanted some workbook practice. But it’s generally used on the computer.
Great question! Yes! It does all the grading for you. I just looked at my daughter’s results in the parent portal yesterday to check and see how she is doing. Thankfully she gets a lot of 95% and 100%, and I found a few 86% lessons. If you want to know which concepts they are struggling with, you open the eBook to find the answer key/types of problems that your child is missing.
It needs to connect to the internet every several lessons to download as it goes, but once you have a few lessons downloaded, no you don’t need the internet. We do most of our lessons at home with the internet, but on the go I make sure they have the latest lessons updated and ready to go without internet. Does that help?
I do what’s best for each kid-- my oldest has been using Masterbooks. We’ll be moving into Horizons 5 now. My 8 year old has been doing Math With Confidence. My 5 year old did Math with Confidence this year, but will move into Right Start Level B.

Thank you for sharing that you struggle teaching upper elementary math. I'm like that too and it's embarrassing. Thanks for your honesty!
I love your honesty in your videos. Please Keep sharing your journey with us❤

forgot to state I entered the giveaway :)
Thank you for this review! I've been wanting to try TT with my boys.

Thank you for making this video. Could we just buy the math program or do you have to purchase all subjects?
You can just purchase the math!

What is the corr criculum you use?
I’ve always wondered if my kids would like an online math program. We are excited to be able to try it out for free :)
Just entered! I’ve been very interested in trying out Teaching Textbooks for our homeschool. Thanks for the giveaway!
Thanks for a great giveaway! I’m going to try pre-algebra for my upcoming 7th grader!
Do you recommend getting the hard copy workbook? Would it correspond with the online work or would it be doubling the work?
Sorry! I forgot to respond! I have not gotten the hard copy workbook. I think that would help some kids if they want to follow along with paper and pencil, but it’s not necessary.
I started the free trail one. But don’t see videos just E book
Oh strange! I don’t know the answer to this one since I used TT so long ago, it may have changed. You’ll want to contact TT support and they’ll help!

You said you use it as a supplement. Can you share what else you use?
I was going to use Horizon’s math, but it was too much. She has just used Teaching Textbooks this year.
So is this just an online program, no physical books?
Correct! But There is a workbook option, that you can order or print out if you wanted some workbook practice. But it’s generally used on the computer.
For how long per day they have to do TT?
My daughter does one lesson a day. It takes about 20 minutes on average. Sometimes longer if she is taking her time.
You've probably covered this in another video, but what do you use for your core math curriculum?
I ended up having my 5th Grader use only Teaching Textbooks, and my 3rd Grader used Math With Confidence. :)
How do you keep up with grades? I know some do not do grades but for those who do does it track grades?
Great question! Yes! It does all the grading for you. I just looked at my daughter’s results in the parent portal yesterday to check and see how she is doing. Thankfully she gets a lot of 95% and 100%, and I found a few 86% lessons.

@@JoyfulNoiseLearning it does help! Thank you!
Up to which grade is TT?
It goes through High School
Does it give the student the ability to work at their own pace ?
Yes it does! You can have them do more than one lesson a day if they are quick. Or have them do half a lesson a day if they need to slow down.
What do you use for your core that works well with this as a supp?
I do what’s best for each kid-- my oldest has been using Masterbooks. We’ll be moving into Horizons 5 now.
My 8 year old has been doing Math With Confidence.
My 5 year old did Math with Confidence this year, but will move into Right Start Level B.
Please comfirm if TT is a Core aligned.
No, TT is not Common Core.
how many lessons does 3rd grade have?
3rd Grade has about 110 lessons, I believe :)
What do you use for your core math?
I ended up using Math With Confidence for my younger boys for core math. My oldest just switched to Saxon 😁
I hate math! I’m soooo bad at it lol. I’ve always done badly
Lol!! I actually CAN do it, it just hurts my brain so bad!!
