- The May 2024 release of Affinity suite 2.5 has been released and this quick video, we'll take a look at the main new features.
As noted in the video, if you are not in need of these new features, I think it is best to wait until the next update/hotfix as this version can introduce some issues. (In my case the applications didn't start, but i was able to fix it).
Thank you for watching and don't forget to hit the like and subscribe buttons.

Some nice updates unfortunately overshadowed by so many bugs. The stroke width was very nice, but I was quickly disappointed once it exposed so many pre-existing bugs in how curves are drawn. Inkscape is still necessary if you want nice smooth curves for stroke width modification.
As a photographer and user of Affinity Photo only I feel there has not been much in the way of photography oriented tools since V2. Sadly Affinity is becoming less relevant to me in my work, thanks largely to the lack of modern AI selection tools and AI object removal. It used to be a good rival to PS but not so much nowadays.
Thanks for sharing.
These are cool. I would like markdown import in publisher so I could block out a document in markup and then use publisher to tidy it up. There are a few workarounds to do this but a full native importer woukd be great.
Would also really like a Linux software before Windows 11 as I think 10 is the last version of Windows I am going to use and I would like to take Affinity with me!
Affinity Photo still does lack a "straight line" tool, similar to Krita's. For those who do digital painting, that's extremely useful. While it's possible to do it in Affinity Photo, it's not good. 😮The way Krita does it is perfect. I wish Serif emulated that.
Thanks for sharing.. I think it depends what you are used to regarding the straight line. I personally prefer to stay in 1 tool and use modifier (like Shift in Affinity) to draw straight lines.
Well, Affinity does have straight lines when holding down shift. It work just like how Photoshop does it. After trying Krita I am actually not too keen on this feature being a specific tool since it takes up an entire modifier slot just to achieve what is done in Photoshop/Affinity Photo.
Also, Gimp has the best version of this specific feature by having a proper GUI for showing where the start and end points are going to appear. At least for this one thing software should behave more like Gimp. :P
The other drawing tools are pretty cool, though! :D
My apps work perfectly without crashing
Good to hear
Thank you!
You're welcome!
all theses update , adobe has it long time a go. QR code as been with adobe over 10yrs
Affinity Photo also lacks a vanishing point tool. It's annoying not only having to to it manually, but increasing the canvas size only because of it, when the vanishing points are outside the frame (which is very common).
Totally agree, Affinity should implement the assistant tool like in Krita.
Like it!
I use Affinity (and now also Inkscape) with powerpoint. The QR code is very handy. The slow implementation of the old drawperfect features is irritating at least. Especially after 2.4, which looks like development time wasted, instead of completing the old features. Personally I still wait for autotrace.
Thank you for sharing. Everybody is waiting for autotrace 😂
Just bought the app but font variation not working
The feature works only if the font you are using is a variable font.
AI ? Para cuando ?😊
