I appreciate the comment loving hearing input on these matters. I definitely love both of them just getting down to the nitty gritty. My personal opinion is I know the old clashes dropped price like 40 dollars or more so if you can get your hands on one of those I prefer that because of the price point but both of these reels definitely preform well and are light.
So Sorry for the delayed response!!! i had no idea this video even got the views it actually did. To answer your question i honestly prefer my original not going to lie both are good reels. the reason i prefer the old one is just simple it seems like it ran smoother longer. I suppose that could be because i kayak fish and sometimes reels get dunked and that tends to ruin them but both are still good reels.
Thanks i do appreciate it. I have switched jobs and find it difficult to have time to edit videos and get out fishing as much to make content but I want to get back at it more!!!
corey center first off id like to thank you for taking your time to comment and watch the video!!! yes I have so far so good it’s just as good as the old one only time will tell if it’s better. I have several videos on the channel with it in the video from catching 21 inch shad to reds to striped bass all on a little 2000 sized reel. I personally love that size because I love using the lightest tackle possible to catch fish within reason. Have had no issues with most of my penn reels besides the battle but that’s because it’s not sealed and things happen. Shimano Stradic ci4 though I have had to replace the roller bearing two or three times. Hope this was helpful it’s a really fun reel. I hope you seriously consider subscribing giveaway at 500 subs also check us out on Instagram lethal lure!!! Thanks have a good day
Aj Cosson the spin fisher is not something I have used before I might have to pick me up one of those. I will say that I do think they usually run better sales on the spin fisher and if weren’t for TH-cam I would probably just be capitalizing on sales because fishing gear is expensive!!! Thanks for the comment love to hear from you guys & gals hope you’ll seriously consider subscribing. Maybe I can’t do that in another video if this is heavily requested!!!
Thanks i really appreciate it i hate that shortly after i released this video i actually started a new job and haven't really gone back to fishing and videoing and editing. i'm hoping to get back into it again though because i did enjoy doing this in the past for this reason. bringing anglers together to get honest reviews on new products not just fancy names for new technology that may or may not work how the real world angler wants it to.
Jose Ruiz first off I’d like to thank you for the comment it’s awesome to hear from people!! I have never used the carnage rod but the reels are nice and smooth I think they are definitely worth it if you have the money. I’ve used the battle and they aren’t as sealed or something and I have had a battle stop reeling efficiently. I own two clashes the first and the second both are great!! Hope this help hope you’ll seriously consider hitting that subscribe button.
omar morales awesome I love the penn clash and so far I love the penn clash 2. Thanks for the comment I hope you’ll seriously consider subscribing for more content and at 500 subs we are doing a giveaway!!!
I just placed an order on a pair. A 2000 series and 2500 series for my Sixgill Lykan Rods. One in Med/light and one in M/H. How do you think they will match up? And how long does it take Penn to ship? My order stays “not in stock’. Thanks!
So sorry for the delayed response i didn't even realize this video had this many views and everything. i'm sure you probably already got your answer, but i love them for those type of rods i use a medium light all the time for trout and redfish!!! hope you enjoyed them.
W Dak depends on the lure and the line I use 10 pound power pro braid and it casts a 3/8 like a bullet probably on average getting like 50-75 yards if I had to guess but I also went fishing for shad and used two tiny 1/32 ounce jugs and one or two 1/16 ounce weights and it still casted pretty well. I have a video up it’s a the shad fishing video is use this reel to catch nice 20 plus inch shad!! I Hope this helped I hope you’ll seriously consider subscribing giveaway at 500 then future ones to come!!!
Pict one awesome question it’s a full metal body and side plate. Thanks for the comment I hope you’ll seriously consider subscribing to get more content also giveaway at 500 subs
costa nicolaidis Don’t go by free spinning smoothnes ,even cheapest chines ones would\may make it better than high end shimano or daiwa ones, but rather under load that where everything count , no idea about clash but stradic fl beats my tp xd anyday for both cranking power n cast, done this test many times where i sold my tp 5000xd xg at the end! Micromodule2 n silent drive tech. thing is for a real. African maasai.
i think both the stradic and the penn clash are very smooth and durable to me i don't really have a preference i know i've had to change bearings for both. To me i still own both still use both at this point in time both are making noises but i still kayak fish too much and reels accidentally get dunked. i have had these reels for at least a year though if not more.
Clash 1 all the way, the clash 2 is a great reel, the high speed colour is so cool, yes it has good water protection but something is off like it's a down grade from the first clash, like this is what the penn conflict two should be instead of that kmart looking reel design they went with wrecked a good name reel🙄. I correct me if im wrong they got rid of the sealed bearings on the clash 2? They dropped the 6000 and 8000 range basically it became a inshore reel now from what i have been reading, drag number are weaker now, the clash 1 in my eyes is one of the best reels penn made in a while no doubts im keen on the clash 2 in the smaller size but penn clash 1 is the nicest looking best functioning reel I've had, also kinda happy now cause the clash 1 price will drop because of the 2😄
Jeremy Nakat first thing thanks for the comment always love hearing from people watching and enjoying my content. I checked the drags and they seem pretty proportionate as far as the drag pounds. With the one factor being that they don’t have the 6k or 8k so if you were a big spinning reel fan maybe not for you. I inshore fish a lot and love my clash and thus far love the new one as well. I do not believe they got ride of the sealed bearing design that would be awful but I will be testing it out to see. As long as my roller bearings don’t go like most of the shimanos after a little time in saltwater
Ill definitely be getting one, just waiting for a special to come by, with most of my reels I buy when I see the insides of the reel, like what they make the gears of ,what bearings they use ect, clash 2 gears are the same so if its sealed bearings definitely a 5000 and 2500 are gonna be mine, just got a dawia bg mag sealed its the only reel I'd put on the same level as a clash, fished shimano and penn most of my life, even though penn reels are made in China they still lasted longer then my shimano reels aswell, subscribed😁 keep them coming
Jeremy Nakat thanks so much for the input I will have to buy and review the diawa BG never used one but have heard some good things. But I appreciate the subscribe means a lot on the way to making this channel something also giving away some of my favorite baits and more at 500 subs
Bitterly disappointed with the Penn Clash. I returned the first 4000 i ordered because the line lay was abysmal, even using custom shims. The second, replacement, reel was also awful, bearing in mind the cost . Line lay is one of the most important things to review, yet hardly anyone demonstrates this.It also feels slightly hard to wind, no doubt that's the water seals. I've gone back to my Shimano Stradics, which seem to be the best buy for me. Penn should stick to multipliers, in my opinion.
barlow2976 first off super glad for the comment love to hear discussions amongst us average to above average anglers. I haven’t really had an issue with how the line would come off my spook but I also use the smaller sized reels I prefer the 2000 size so I can target inshore redfish and trout. That’s being said I have used the shimano ci4+ and I have had to replace the roller bearing like 3 times and still just keeps going bad. So to me I slightly prefer this one however I have not tried the new Stradic I’ve heard they may have fixed the roller bearing issue. Love the comment though I seriously hope you consider subscribing
I have 4 clash reels. Thinking about getting another 2500 and I guess it will be the Clash II. Really like the Slammer III reels too. Indian River Lagoon System, Merritt Island, FL
ya i haven't used the slammer mainly because i've only used it for inshore. inshore fishing in North Carolina is very different then inshore fishing for Florida we just don't have the variety of fish species. i would recommend the slammer though it is a good reel from what i've heard.
love to see you enjoyed the content thanks for the comment. I agree fishing gear is on the expensive side but as far as the reel is concerned it is a great reel very reliable
I have the original Clash 3k and a 2500 and a 4k Clash II. Definitely a step up. Refined Clash I is what it amounts to...
Love The Clash.
That reel is not bad either.
Both of them are great I don’t like that they increased the price for essentially the same product
Good video.I'll be back to check out your future shows. Plan on buying the Penn 2000 clash 2 now.
I personally really love the clash series they are very good quality reels and have good drag systems.
How is it compared to the Clash 1? I love the first edition. Great video. Keep up the good work

So I been looking at the Penn Clash 2 to go with a Carnage 2 12foot rod, Do you think this is a good combo? I am looking to do some surf fishing.

Does the penn clash 2 cast well?

Which is smoother this or stradic fl??

I have the 5000 Stratic FL. Butter

So they improved the ar clutch and roller bearing but it's the gear that fails in the clash gen 1.
Whats the problem with the Clash 1 gear please?
@@nircohen8253 high rate of those gears braking. More than their other models.
