    My locs have been semi freeform/flat since 2019 which was the last time I retwisted em and after not maintaining for 7 months I realized the untamed look to me is better than the tamed look and now they look healthier and thicker and I combined my locs in 2018 which was my second to last retwist since and that's why they vary in size and shape

    I came into this vod a lil scared but now I feel encouraged. This is the third time I'm trying locks in the last ten years. The first time was on purpose and we'll meaning... But messy. The second time was an accidental outcome of hyperactivity and extreme fidgiting during the pandemmy... But this time I really wanna lock with love and intention. Tysm for ur video. It helped me a lot.

    Right. My scalp and hair is far TOO delicate to be laid and the perfectly-parted, micro-managed level. But sometimes it's hard to live with the 'in-between' look but its ok. I am doing head bands for a bit more of style as my baby-locks grow!

    I put in my braids yesterday, my parts are horrible because I’m not good at it, even TH-cam university couldn’t save me. But its okay I want to semi Freeform. I’m still working on 3 but its okay I feel like my hair will help me through it. Cant wait to see my braids turn into locs.

      @@AtreyuLocs do you do scalp massage? I began doing scalp massage every day to help move my natural scalp sebum around and it helped with the itching. I also use scalpicin drops and fluoconicide (sp?) drops to ease the itching. My scratching thinned out my crown, but it's back healthy.
      Truly wish you best of luck. The SD struggle is real.

      Thank you for the tips. I don’t massage routinely at this point, except for when I’m trying to avoid scratching 😂 I do use the fluocinolone acetonide oil though. I’ll try the massaging; I’m desperate at this point. And I’m glad that your scalp was restored with time. That leaves me hopeful 🙂🙏🏾

    I'm new to your channel so forgive me if this has already been trialed in the past but I also suffered from a crazy itchy scalp pretty much my whole life. I loc'd my hair in January and it was suggested that I try going without products (my hair felt heavy and stiff). Since doing this my scalp has stopped itching. As a result, my bald patches (I had a lot of patches and thinning in my crown and a straight up patch of hair missing in the front of my head) have grown in and filled out. My hair is thick with fine strands so the itching really impacted my hair. Just wanting to share since this is the kind of relief I prayed for and all I did was stop putting oils, butters and etc. in my hair.
    (sn: if helpful, I'd been a loose natural since 2004 with 4c hair to my bra strap. My staples were shea butter and aloe vera gel and sometimes oils like jamaican black castor, olive, or coconut depending on how I was wearing my hair)

    I have SD and have a RX (the strongest steroid they can give me. Because all the others had stopped working at some point) and like you it still itches 😩. Especially my edges and crown. I scratched my edges out 🤣. I’ve tried everything and at this point it is what it is 🤣. The only thing that simi works for awhile is washing with that probiotic lemon bar and pintar bar but it smells horrible. Works better then the RX shampoo.

    Hello Atreyu,
    Hope you are progressing positively on your continuous loc journey. My comment/question to you is I have noticed that my soft hair texture loves water As a loose natural i could wet my hair and it would stretch out and become wavy. when i wake up my 15 month old locs look as if they've shrunk a lot overnight. I sleep on satin pillow cases. I don't like covering my hair. I feel restricted. But the minute i wet my hair it seems to expand and looks happy! Why is this? I am curious.i

    • @AtreyuLocs
      @AtreyuLocs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you, ma'am! All is well with me. They probably look shrunken because you've been laying on them during the night. The water allows those flattened/restricted strands to become mobile again; hence, why they expand and look happy again :) You gotta love it!

    I hope your hair turns out to be just fine. Why haven’t you gotten treatment for the SD? My scalp was itchy and I had psoriasis when I was younger. I use t/gel shampoo once a month and I only use plain clear castor oil on my hair to retwist monthly and it’s helped tremendously. Also what is your diet like? If you eat dairy try to go a month without it and see if it gets better. Keep us updated

    • @AtreyuLocs
      @AtreyuLocs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much! Btw, I have received treatment. All of the other symptoms have abated except for the itching. It’s been the one remaining, stubborn symptom. I also use the t/gel shampoo but it hasn’t been able to rid me of the itching. My diet is pretty on point as well. Hopefully I’ll figure out this puzzle sooner than later. And I will definitely keep you all updated. Thanks for the tips and well wishes 🙂🙏🏾
