Seven minutes is a long time to wait. Like a snow day closing and your school begins with W. So maybe I missed McGonnagal’s on Perth Road. An American spending a year in 1993 Dundee, it was a very close home away from home
Dundee is so nice, the waterfront, is so picturesque with the houses across the river. The look out, the howff, all the bars everywhere, it's like something out of a movie and I love it here as it's so chill
Nice Video, but there's aew of the Lochee boozers missing, The Ivanhoe, The Sporting Lounge, The Last Tram, and a bit further afield, the Addie (Admiral), The Charlie Bar, The (3) Barrels, Halleys, The Bowser (Bowbridge) and The Glens. Plus where are all the city centre and Perth Road pubs? Could always get pics of some of the old knocked down pubs like The Fairways, The Mucky Duck (Golden Pheasant), The Lea Rig and The Copper Beach.
I had visited The Bothy quite a few times probably 1971-73, dated a barmaid who worked there. Remembered meeting Grant and Mohammad. It was good times. ....Yank from Boston area of Massachusetts
Dundee is not that depressing, there are 2 unis and 1 college, there is a vibrant night life thanks to all the students and they are soon getting a V&A museum the only other being in London
the photo of 'whities' at the tap o' the provie brought back memories. My dad was there for almost 33 years as manager. The proper name was The Strathmartine Tavern. Great pub and well run (but I'm biased). To yonago99, i remember the Pentland and I did have a couple of visits there when I was younger.
None of the pubs on the Perth Road where I used to go when I attended the university of D in the early 80s. At that time, Dundee was not as nice looking as it was when I was there in 2010. Hope it has continued upward.
Dundee is so charming now It's a brilliant and vibrant city with such a relaxing and chill atmosphere and vibe Its my favourite city in scotland feels like something out of a movie
Totally pointless video and it makes Dundee look totally dire. If you visit Dundee, have a walk or a drive up the Law Hill and take a good look around. It's a cracking place really.
THere isn't a single nice pub in there apart form the last few in the ferry. What about all the bars in the city centre and the bars on the Perth Road. It's basically a video of rundown bars in Dundee. Although some of them do have character and I have been to a lot of them
Dundee Pubs are Legend, Ah Wullie Frews Up The Hawkhill, Legend Cheers Everybody a Guinness Mmmmm Perfect, Graham. Oh Wullie Frews in The 1970s and the Fine Fare Lochee Saturday Nights will never be the same Cheers 🍻🍻👍😊🍻🍻👍

^^^^ not me, but my dad. Would have been kinda hard for me to have dated a barmaid in 1973!
That brought back some memories. Thanks for posting. Also, thanks for not putting annoying music, or The Copper Beech on it.

My memories of Dundee Pubs are not the best. They were often depressing places, especially in the Housing Schemes.
I live in the ferry
Have Dundonians stopped drinking then.....
how boring looks so glum so glad I moved out of Dundee in 72....don't the pubs have windows in Dundee???
@sbowesuk there is a hugely prosperous part of the city there called Broughty Ferry with its pubs all shown.
