As an Australian living in the USA, I miss Australia so much! I love Australian Aboriginal music so much! I'm so very proud of our Australian Aboriginal community!
I am too. Born here from English migrants. Love all ppl n this song speaks loudly to me… a yearning for peace ✌🏻 ❤❤❤
Didgeridoo solo for the f**kin' win. These guys are legendary.
The sound of that Didgeridoo is amazing
What a powerful song, goosebumps everywhere and im not even aussie
We moved to Australia briefly from England when I was a kid, which coincided with this being in the charts - there was a big introspection in the country at the time, with debates over the flag and even potentially becoming a republic. We learned about aboriginal culture in school, and even did a competition to design a new flag which represented the country more accurately - most of us used red, yellow and black as per the aboriginal flag.
I was too young to fully appreciate Yothu Yindi's politics at the time, but I absolutely loved this song, and was fascinated by the language and the culture. I only just found out that the lead singer died of kidney failure - how terribly sad that he never lived to see the settlement happen. I hope one day that Australia can finally treat its indigenous people fairly, and confront its brutal past.
Yarrma brother 🖤💛❤️👍🦘
im dark and my mum used to say the sound of the didj goes right through ya yep it does proud to be aboriginal 🖤🧡❤👍😊
Still gives me goosebumps listening to Yothu Yindi music.
Eu tenho um CD deles ainda. Brasil.
Used to listen to your music with my hippie friends back here in finland. haven't seen them for a while, but man this beat still focking awesome. cheers.
I bought the Yothu Yindi albums. I loved singing the lyrics in my car and freaking out my friends.
😂 I still listen
We learned a little about aboriginal culture in my first primary school & I will never forget it. We did dances, made food, bush tucker and made our own huts. It was so fun and felt really really good and I'd love to live that way. :)
The world needs musical diversity, your sound should be heared all across the world, carry on the good job you are doing, i love your music!
Amazing song. Amazing group. Amazing Dr. Yunupingu.
I was 5 when this song came out. I remember watching the music video on the TV, mesmerized. I loved this song as a kid and have loved it ever since. I live overseas now and this always takes me back home to Aus as a kid.
Yothu Yindi Rock! 😍👍
Remembrance for him . Teared up so much seeing him in his prime leading that band. Not another voice like him in the music industry.
Missing my Homeland right now. I've been living overseas for work.....for too long. Good job, good money but I miss home. You can take the girl out of the red dirt, but can't take the red dirt out of the girl.
This song is dope. Hit me in the heart
Rest in Peace ✌🏽 beautiful man 💕
This is the best band ever.........they introduced me in thier culture and music.....i still love thier music
You should have said yes Australia, we got ya back my indigenous brothers.
