Holy moly, that piano is a MASSIVE wallbuster... I think that gadget alone is going to make him a pretty darn good pick for countering wall-reliant brawlers.
Also, considering his super is a flash on top of a reusable portal...There's almost no way it's not going to be good. And at minimum, it'll be super fun.
Yeah this is what I’m thinking, that gadget radius is insane. I think he instantly becomes the best wallbreak brawler in the game, or at least tied with Brock probably. And yeah, having a flash that turns into a permanent teleporter for your whole team is crazy utility on his super.
El primo gadject, but controllable and bigger
I’m just picturing on a map like dueling beetles, you drop a piano on the enemy middle bush area at the start and that entire section is just gone for the rest of the game

I think gray is one of the first brawlers who is a really map changing brawler. Being able to tp through water blocks and mass breaking walls is super situational and make shim either amazing or terrible depending on the map not mode

I think he will be at least B tier in Heist if not A. Imagine teleporting a griff or bull directly onto the enemy safe, and then they can teleport out if they need to.

All that budget for the voice lines went to developing his kit and we love it! If you told me he was a legendary brawler, I'd believe it. Can't wait to have him soon. ❤️

One thing I noticed is that the piano charges his super, too. That could allow for a well-placed piano at the start of a match leading to a very impactful super in the very first seconds of the game.

The math for the boss battle test that no one asked for:
The boss has 100,000 health, if we subtract the total damage from the gadgets we get 95,230 for old Gray and 94,780 for buffed Gray.
If we divide each of those numbers by the damage output from their respective attacks, we get 59.8(60) shots from old Gray and 54.4(55) from buffed Gray.
From no ammo, it takes about 6.7 seconds for Gray to reload and unload 4 shots. Since it takes 5 less shots to kill the boss with buffed Gray, we can convert that number to 5 shots, which would take about 8.4 seconds. Subtracting 8.4 from the final time (2.11) gets us…
2.02.6 for Gray's final time! Hope this helps anyone that wanted to know :)

One thing I've noticed is that although he isn't the tankiest or most damage dealing brawler he can be surprisingly good for jumping squishing and higher dps brawlers, maybe even higher dmg brawlers and other Grays bc of the surprise element
Instead of having no voicelines, they should make it so there's old timey music where his voicelines would normally be. I think it would be hilarious

I wish the teleporter worked slightly faster
An interesting thing I've noticed about his Walking Cane gadget is that it actually destroys walls on the whole path back, even if they enemy brawler isn't pulled through them. The cane itself keep travelling back to you and destroys walls.
Also, I feel like his Fake Injury star power is one of the worst in the game, especially without a shield gadget or some sort of shield synergy. I'm getting kind of tired of them releasing gadgets and star powers staggered. I wish they'd just release both each time, especially now since you can just buy them right away instead of waiting to get them from a box or shop deal.
the piano gadget is kind of comedic, i like it. the idea of a mime pointing at you and a then a massive grand piano proceeds to plummet down from the sky and detonating is ridiculous

I have a pretty wierd strategy which could possibly work (for gem grab)
If your teammate has all the gems and he’s getting pressured and hit by the opponents team you can just put a portal in the place he’s walking and make your near your spawn so your teammate can survive and bring the gems to your spawn
A big change I'd make for him is the ability to aim his super for a shorter distance
With the fact that so many maps are small it'd be basically useless to his kit if he can't aim his super shorter

Spike got competition
It seems like Grey is a mainly Support brawler who’s other attacks will not help him well at all. Hopefully he’ll get a buff because he seems very teammate reliant
Heist will be grays best mode, everybody forgets gale jump pad meta, grays does that but enemies can’t use his tp. He also has wallbreak to counter any throwers

Finally, the best conversation buddy for Spike!
It's possible to measure his real place in the boss test after the damage buff without redoing the test.
It currently takes him 133 seconds to do 100k damage. Factoring out the 4.8k from pianos, that is 95.2k damage in 133 seconds, which is around 716 average dps. The proportion of damage to dps is 1590:716 or 1:0.45, meaning that a 150 damage increase (1740) would increase his total dps by [((716/1590) x 150) + 716] or to around 784 dps. Now that we have his new dps, we can divide 100,000 by 784 to get 121, or in other words, 121 seconds or 2 minutes and 1 second.
Therefore, Gray's final score for the boss test should be 2:01. Hope this helps.

Gray's 1st gadget actually increases the range and width of his attack too.
As for Gray, he is kind of decent in my opinion, but i think he needs a bit of buffs.
Attack damage:1160 to 1220
Super Buff:Each time a teammate teleports, portal casts a 2.5 tile radius of damage to enemies.
Damage:600 per teleport (cannot stack)
Unload speed: +15%
Reload speed:+15%
1st star power buff: 25% protection to 40% protection + 20% to 30% damage buff for 4 seconds based on amount of damage take
2nd star power buff: Heal increases by 30% for every teammate teleported. Stacks to +60% heal. Heal increase to 1200.
1st gadget buff: Pull to 60% of range hitted and Dmg & reload speed decrease by 15%.
Spike has a contender
Very unique brawler, it would be great if he can aim his portal as it is the best part of his kit, nevertheless he looks very fun and interesting.

I feel like the only thing Gray needs; is for his shots to hit multiple brawlers, like Nita, Sandy, Emma. It’s a trait usually seen on mid range brawlers but would be interesting in a longer range brawler, especially fitting with how thin it is
It also takes a long time to land, so that'd manage to make him a bit more useful with normal attacks

I wonder if the piano will do increased damage if gray is being buffed by 8 bit or something, as it does the same as his main attack, but most gadgets don’t change in damage
I know that I am in a small minority, but I had a question regarding the new brawler unlock road.
As a F2P player that had maxed out their account before(Before Power 11), I found that because of the number of boxes that I opened, I was able to collect even the highest brawler rarities with relative ease. For example, I took a 6 month break, starting before the introduction of Buzz, and ending when Grom was introduced into the game. Within a month and a half, I was able to unlock around all 8 of the brawlers that I was missing, including Meg and 3 Chromatic Brawlers(Buzz, Ash, and Lola) all without the Brawl Pass unlock. However, with this new progression system, a F2P player is capped out at receiving 2 Chromatics maximum in a 2 month season if they saved enough gems for the brawl pass(I came back from a 4 month break in November, and just this week, I unlocked Sam and Buster out of boxes, and I got Otis last week). How is Brawl Stars looking to address this idea, if at all possible?
Once again, I know that I am in such a slim minority, but it would be nice to know how Brawl Stars will look at their old system that gave increased chances of receiving a brawler the more boxes you opened.

Your rng is crazy, I usually get like 1 brawler every 2 weeks
@@ish_ It only got that way because every time that I unlocked a box, my chances increased(this was a feature that was implemented). Since I had opened a bunch of boxes before when I had no brawlers to unlock, my odds to pull a brawler kept on increasing, leading to me getting the newest brawlers with relative ease. Also, when you unlock all the brawlers in a certain rarity, the odds to unlock a brawler in the other rarities increases.
In short, because I played the game so much, I was rewarded with better odds to pull the newest brawlers.
@@benjaminh2841 that's still extremely lucky, I have max mythic chance, and almost max legendary chance and im still missing all legendaries except sandy, and im still missing 2 mythic brawlers. Mind you the last brawler I got was *2 months ago...* So you're definitely extremely lucky and I think this new system is just better in every possible way unless if you're extremely lucky which isn't fair to the majority of the playerbase.
@@xatime2833 I definitely expected something like this to be the case, and I know that the system is designed to be good for players that do not have the majority or all the brawlers(literally almost everyone), so I definitely appreciate the change. I want others to appreciate the game like I have since its global launch, so I understand that this problem is a very minuscule one.
Fun fact: Gray is the 2nd brawler in game to not have any voice lines and the first brawler since summer 2019 to come out without voice lines on release

Supercell really loves the number 1740 huh as 3 brawlers deals this kind of damage plus 3 more brawlers used to do this either as normal damage or with a star power

My personal wish for Gray Super Rework:
The portal actually doesnt stay on the ground forever rather only a limited time BUT no matter how many time he uses the portal , its always an instant teleport whether he or his teammates use them.(I do think you can leave the cooldown with the glove animation that happens everytime you use it but the cooldown for it to activate every single time you start to use it just removes the potential fun and uniqueness too much)
But what if you have a random Gray teamate that puts portals on you an teleports you to places you don't wanna go? Or they put portals in small walkways so its impossible to not be teleported? Would be annoying I think.
i feel like his first star power isnt that great and should be replaced with something else
star power idea: his portals activate way quicker so it can actually be very usefull in quite a lof of scenarios. this way both star powers are worth using

@@wellcubed9626 it may be similar with sprout, but the only difference (but a huge one) is that enemies can pass through but teammates can't. So basically it's a wall for your teammates only.

Gray sprout in gem grab. Escaping with countdown, sprout creates a road block, and gray gets the team through while the enemies have to lose and go around or waste a super to break it and lose

That 2nd gadget is pretty much gonna hard carry him in the meta unfortunately. It really needs to be toned down, as it’s the best wallbreak ability in the game atm.
The second gadget just makes the first one seem kinda insignificant in my opinion
We now have another brawler that can wallbreak without supers in addition to the usual Griff, Colt and Brock

I think gray will actually be pretty good in solo showdown. He has enough range and damage to keep enemies away, a wall breaker gadget, and a way to easily get away/ get burst healing.
Fax. kairos “box test” and bone test seem kinda redundant to me . they dont show Full potential for the mode . But it proves he can be susceptible to assassins. bad unload speed and mid-damage.
High damage per second is mandatory in solo showdown, and even with that the majority of the snipers sucks anyway.

Do you mean like a poco situation? Where he's good at surviving but not good enough at attacking to get first place, so he can get high places but not first
Note that his super now charges in 4 hits, and you can shorten the range by autoaiming on a nearby opponent.

I agree, the walking cane gadget doesn't really have any benefits for him, like yeah you pull the enemy but you can't even use it in tanky brawlers

You said he ties with Gene for the 3 attack test, but this isn't taking into account the fact that Gene no longer has a star power to increase his damage since it got converted into 1,000 damage on his super.
He still deals somewhere around 1700 dmg doesn't he? Add the 1000 dmg from super and it's even more than Gray
@@KyumifunNah Gene’s attack deals 1440 at level 11. Also because it’s the “3 Attack Test” brawlers can _only_ use their main attack, which means Gene only deals 4320 in total.
They should change the super animation so that the portal is sealed until it is ready again because right now you cant really tell when it's ready.
You can tell from those lines
The cooldown always gets me, they should make it to be instant with the cooldown between uses, and not make it as the teleporters on map maker, as the time gray throws the super

I think I have an idea where while your teleporting through the portal you throw your other portal and when you throw your portal you will teleport farther away and maybe it will create a super long portal. Btw love the vids.

I hope the dev team never makes those portals usable by enemies. Imagine a grey who teams up in ladder and uses those portals to make it easier for enemies to reach you
or in SD you want to escape but the bull that is chasing you uses it too and basically you threw your super away

Gray’s second gadget is basically a better Primo second gadget and that’s what Primo’s should’ve been in the past imo (except nerfed). By that I mean it’s 10x better by being aimable.
