I sold games for a decade. I was aware of literally every PAL release that happened. I don't remember a single Garfield game in that period, WHERE DID THEY COME FROM?
RIP Phillip. I was just rewatching the WGE episode recently where Ben says that they should ask him to write this list as a punishment and I wondered if he had been able to make it. It was nice to hear you guys speak his words for one last time.
Actually from what I've read, Garfield is actually super popular in Japan. Even more so in China, seriously it's actually kind of crazy just how popular he is in China. The movie Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties is quite literally the most popular animated movie of all time for a while. No lie, it beat "Lion King" for that record. I'm not sure if it still holds that record, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's still in the top 5-10.
22:20 you should definitely have included the picture that shows that the hitbox for Garfield's kick in this game is LEGITIMATELY ZERO. It doesn't extend any further pixels than he usually takes up
I agree. There's probably enough Spongebob games to fill a long video, which is the case with other franchises with lots of licensed they've covered like Shrek and Barbie. I think if they're gonna do a Nickelodeon games video, though, they should specifically focus on the Nick crossover games, like All-Star Brawl and those Nicktoons Unite games, since a video like "Every Nickelodeon game ranked" just feels like it would focus on the crossover games rather then each and every game that's based on any Nickelodeon show. Just a feeling.
Mad About Cats is the reason I clicked on this video. That game is so small and insignificant that I was actually curious about whether or not you would include it on the list. Not only did you include it, however, but you actually let it crack the top five and say some positive things about it. Truly a blessed day.
R.I.P. Philip. I completed many video games and Lego sets with videos with your scripts accompanying me. Your work and legacy will be remembered, and you will be missed. …Also, Dr. Seuss games ranked maybe?
I’m from Pittsburgh and went on Garfield’s nightmare many times in the past. Not as good as The Ild Mill for sure. Really cool to hear you talk about that ride. Never thought I would hear history about Kennywood on this video game channel, that was really neat. Love your channel by the way.
Since watching SuperEyepatch Wolf's video on Garfield, this video feels more like a nightmare. Excellent job Team TripleJump (sincerly) Everyone should look at that video though.
Garfield caught in the act for sega genesis was my entire childhood. I believe the mechanics are like that because it adds a difficult curve or that game would’ve been so easy. Great list team!
Y'know, as someone who was a Garfield fan for many years, it's kind of sad to actually realize that most of the Garfield games are pretty bad. When "...MEDIOCRE" gets you #1 on the list...
Having grown up in the early 2010’s, garfield’s nightmare on the DS was my first ever videogame that I really remember, Garfield’s nightmare and some Dora cooking game
Back in the day I bought it for my Speccy and I loved it. The puzzles were confusing to me, but I loved being able to kick Odie out of the screen and drinking Jon’s coffee.
51:30 I love how he is literally like "I guess I'll die" in this short. Like, no prompt. No chain of events that lead to his demise. He just willingly stands under a trap and is like "I guess I'll die."

This is a pointless video to make. Any gamer worth their salt already knows about every Garfield game ever created and knows the exact order of greatness from great to extremely great
Too bad Philip never got to play Planet Clue's mod of the 2004 Garfield game that fixes some of its issues. I know a mod probably wouldn't be eligible, but I wonder where it would've ranked if it did.
So many Garfield games are marred by the fact they're basically "(INSERT GAME HERE), but it's Garfield characters". Almost all of them feel like shovelware, and some of them probably literally are shovelware. The ones on the 8 bit home computers (Garfield's Big Fat Hairy Deal) are probably the best at actually translating the comic strip into something resembling a playable game. They're self evidently the closest to the source material. I enjoyed it a lot as a kid.
In the midst of it all, it is strange how tonally and allegorically Garfield Kart is to the current state of Garfield and newspaper comics in general. There's so little going on and it isn't awful or great, it's just... there... and commands our attention anyways... Love the video, thanks :)
I was obsessed with the "Mad about cats" one for PC as a child I played it so much to see all the different cat varieties and what can be mixed together and the little signature dish part was super fun and interesting to me 😂
27:42 Check the closed captioning being a different joke/line to the one spoken :D Peter replaced "Who are we to yuck your yum," with "Please know that I hate you."

Small facts about the Mega Drive game, Caught in the Act. All the sprites were created by Garfield creator Jim Davis and hand-drawn by Davis and the Garfield artists at Paws.- Jim Davis stated in a 1995 interview, "I've known [Sega of America president] Tom Kalinske ... for 15 years. We always thought [a Garfield video game] would be a good idea, but neither of us was ready. I didn't have the time to devote to it because of other projects. Two years ago Tom felt the time was right, so we started."
When I was 6/7 I enjoyed the film Garfield gets real, but I have sincs forgot that it even existed completely up until I got reminded of it in this video
Ready for every final fantasy game ranked. Or you could start ranking genres like every jrpg or every fps ranked. That sounds incredibly difficult but y'all never back down from a challenge.
Final Fantasy XIV online should be ranked number one. Fourteen's lore is rich, deep, emotional and really emersive. The characters are very rememberable as well as likable and the gameplay isn't too shabby.
Thom Huge didn’t just retire from performing the voice of Jon after Lorenzo Music’s death, he retired from voice acting altogether (though after the cancellation of of Garfield & Friends he primarily worked in advertising and radio). Fun fact: Huge and Jim Davis were friends and fraternity brothers at Indiana’s Ball State University, and when Davis was first approached about making a Garfield animated special he asked Huge (a Chicago radio DJ at the time) to provide the voice of Jon.
I once played a Garfield game on a friend's Sega Master System. For the longest time I thought that was the only Garfield licensed game to exist, now I can't find evidence that the SMS game ever existed.
I've been a fan of Garfield for years true fact is this Bill Murry hated voicing that character in the live action movie and I'm sure that the Angry Video Nerd commented on every single bad Garfield video game ever made . I'll always be a fan of that cat no matter what . thanks for this video . 👍👍
About the mention of an overlap between the Ghostbusters game with Peter Venkman and Garfield's Labyrinth. The voice actor of Garfield in Garfield and Friends also voiced The Real Ghostbuster's Peter Venkman in the first season.
garfield's nightmare is objectively the best garfield game for the soundtrack alone. It's also one of the few with boss battles which gives it far more variation than pretty much anything else in the list. The controls work nicely, I personally quiet enjoy the colorful graphics, and the minigames / levels are quite replayable. I know it's similar to a lot of other platformers to an extent, but in my opinion garfield and the other characters & aesthetics make it lovable enough to consider it somewhat special. I'd love to see a remake or port to the switch despite it being an unfortunately short game.
24:16, the scene with the custom garfield comics. "lasgumus". i had to pause and genuinely laughed for like 5 minutes straight. my sense of humor is dying.
the first time i ever realized video games could be bad was with the garfield search for pookie gba game when i was 8. i still have the game and the box/manual actually. i loved the sega genesis garfield game as a kid though.

I love that this is Phillip's final contribution to the world. To honor him, you should do a ranking list of every Pico game ever.
