Bro that instamojo mock test is it higher than level of actual bitsat coz I did the free one and got lesser marks than expected and also saw a few glitches in it.

Those who are interested in physics and chemistry are taking computer science
And those who are interested in computer are going into electrical and other fields because they don't get a seat in comp sci.

Love it. Something I've contemplated a lot over the past few months after taking on jee. Skills>> any kind of formal education. Skills can monetize forever. Our education system needs to change in the near future

I'd say that too but a degree with skills would make the path a little easy. Firstly with a degree you can do better networking with the help of your university. And when you apply for a job, if you a have a degree then it makes it easier to get selected by the HR. Still it's very much possible for a self taught and I've seen people do it with hard work and determination.
Let's just wait it out till the boomers die out xD

Just a remark -> SQL databases are still used very widely. Just depends on your use-case whether to use SQL or NO-SQL.
he said they don't teach you android and web dev and my college had two subjects focused on just that, also he says software development for portable devices which is basically an android app development intro course.
Self note : Oh ,so for me CSE is better choice than ECE/Online C.S courses , *as I am interested in research more than a job* .
And for ECE the college matters more as this field demands lot of resources.
I want the best first job & alumni so I'll work hard.

According to him just do any courses and learn computer science from internet, if the whole think is that then the MNC'S why hiring more CSE or CST students rather than others...
Obviously they hire some other branch students for the IT field but they develop only one or two tech oriented skill by any cartified course,for which only online courses aren't sufficient..
If this is true then why the CSE branch is existing, only for research!! Obviously not.....
So you can't say that the CSE branch is only a theoretical branch rather than practical...

Appreciate your honest attempt to clear perceptions
But there is a catch.
Almost every domain and every course in most colleges have an obsolete syllabus.
Even electronics as well.
Computer science is not just about programming. I think we agree here
But your latter analysis regarding validity of computer science as a degree not apt.
You should have done a basic verification that syllabi of almost all engineering courses and branches are not updated to suit the needs of the respective industry.
Well your analysis is apt if you had focused on requirement of a computer science degree for a small software developer.
But computer science as a degree way more than a software engineering and programming.
It's not just about programming not it is just about high end research.

The main thing is college give you a platform for connecting with the world which is difficult if you are on your own ... But that does not mean that it is impossible.. but for that you have to be active in knowledge and to have amazing skills

thanks a lot for this video. i've been feeling a little conflicted recently because of college applications and i'm not entirely sure why i had a strong inclination to computer science (other than the packages) even though i didn't know what the course entailed. it's a relief for me that getting a non-cs branch isn't the end of the world.

But you'll only be able to apply for 70-80%of IT companies as some of them require your to have CS/IT/Electronics degree to sit for placements

DBMS is not obsolete ! Its not a particular database course like mysql, mongodb, postgresql. Its a general db course which will teach you all the concept which is common for all db languages.

I wish i would have known this 4 years back.
I hate theory subjects have 7 backlogs and don't have motivation or the mindset to clear it anytime soon.
Anyway got job at a startup (developer).
Bits and IITs exists
Coz our population is too high it isn't possible to teach lakhs of students in top level education. Those top teachers doesn't exist much..
IIT BITS students are also career driven and very bright students being among them you would learn alot.
Guy what he is telling in his video is absolutely right . But for Data releated job or ML, AI , Deep learning
it would be better if you chose CS or IT or ECE. For Programming,Networking or Developer you can chose any branch.
