Might as well made this video at night. Theres hardly any sunlight the day to chose to film this video. Complete overcast weather. You should redo this video during a hot, sunny day. Then you'll have some results.
Technically 99% of hot dogs on the market are pre cooked anyways.. so your just warming them technically.. mason jar works better for dogs ITS JUST LIKE A MAGNIFY GLASS
OR.....wrap up hot dogs in foil, open the hood of the vehicle you went to the beach in, place foil pack on top (or near) exhaust manifold. Wait a while and they will be warmed through..
Years and years ago, I did this for a science project/invention assignment. I used a oatmeal canister lined with foil. A skewer to put the hot dog on, and saran wrap over the opening. I think it got a pretty good grade, if I remember correctly! Lol
Actually, just trying to get someone to try it was the challenge. Probably because I was the only one who succeeded in getting it cooked, it was a bit cloudy that day. Maybe if the others had been able to find a big enough piece of glass to place on top of their cookers like I did instead of having to use plastic wrap.
On the battlefield, I can’t begin to count the number of times the difference between death and survival was the sturdy, corrugated walls of a cardboard box.
Awesome step-by-step. If you're a parent, you really need to do this with your kids at least once when they're young. Can be educational and definitely tasty. ☀️🌭👍
since hot dogs come pre-cooked, technically, it doesn't matter how long Cliff cooks them. I say that because those hot dogs looked like they needed more time to me.
why would they not want you to barbecue at the beach, the safest place you could do it. but it's ok to barbecue at a camp ground with lots of dry trees around you that could start on fire and burn someones home down.
If you are not getting enough heat from the sun, it's basically leaving out your hot dogs in a warm temperature for 30 minutes. If you're presenting a video about cooking to public, I think you should at least have minimal knowledge of food safety.
That's cool if you're only eating hotdogs. If you're "grilling" steak or Chicken then you're SOL. That said, if you don't have a portable grill that box can work. Triple foil it, bury it in the sand so the heat is conducted outward, and light charcoal in the box. Grill on top of it. When you're all done and the coal is burned out, you can just throw everything out no muss no fuss.
I'm not buying it. Flawed design. Nothing to retain the heat and who wants sand and bugs on their hotdog that has been sitting out in the open for hours? At least put them on a dark plate inside of a cooking bag. It shows a real lack of integrity to imply that your "stove" worked when it really didn't. I notice how raw the hotdogs looked and you never mentioned how well it worked or how hot the dogs got. you only told us what you liked to put on them. Thumbs down.
Okay, good tin and steel is okay, but its good to make everyone aware to stay away from aluminum anything. I have sick parents because of this programming in the past.
I'm being facetious. Although he called it tin foil he is using aluminium foil. I do not, however, believe aluminium foil is toxic. Have you googled it?
I understand. Most foil is aluminium even if they call it "tin". I don't care to use aluminium anything. Over time it has shown to cause sickness. Most elders have sickness that is directly from aluminium and cooking with it is even worse. Do what you want but I wont use it.
This video missed the mark. No review of the temp of the dogs, the taste, how warm the oven got, etc.
I love all the unnecessary things Clifford does
Cliff is the Da Vinci of beach cooking.

unecessary complicated cooking process. I love it.

the dull side is supposed to be better at not sticking (according to the box). it doesn't affect temps.
"Cooking at the beach" is probably the last thing I ever wanna do...at the beach.
The answer is yes. I did it in my science class back in 09
Years and years ago, I did this for a science project/invention assignment. I used a oatmeal canister lined with foil. A skewer to put the hot dog on, and saran wrap over the opening. I think it got a pretty good grade, if I remember correctly! Lol
Notice that none of those dogs were consumed.
warm hotdog without char mark, my favorite LUL
looks like you're going to eat sand
dont lie Cliff...we know those doggies were cold AF
Why not i eat them straight out of the fridge sometimes 😂
. HOT DOG TRUTHER ALERT: heating not cooking
THERE'S NO SUN
Yay new Cliff video. Still happy for it even if he is a non-Lucas.
Would’ve been hotter if you just sat on it
I did this back in highschool, the principle even ate the hot dog to test if it was done. Mine was different than this, but it worked.
Its easy to tell if a hotdog is done. He just wanted to eat your hotdogs.
"And that laydies and gentelmen..
A waste of time !
There is no way to tell they are done
Hotdogs are already cooked
On the battlefield, I can’t begin to count the number of times the difference between death and survival was the sturdy, corrugated walls of a cardboard box.
But how’s it taste?
Lotta people hating fun today.
Eater - 4:15 You have to tell the masses, "DILL RELISH, IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING!"
Awesome
Summer science project kids!
Stick to cooking. You're not an engineer. Don't feel bad Cliff. Don't do videos on the beach. I love you!
Cliff, very poor.
Awesome step-by-step. If you're a parent, you really need to do this with your kids at least once when they're young. Can be educational and definitely tasty. ☀️🌭👍
Yay chef Endo!
Of course you can. There's a guy in Thailand cooking chicken with the sun and he's running a restaurant.
Yayyyy hip cliff is back
I used to be a flagger and I cooked many hot dogs and burritos on the dash of my car! roll the windows up or down for more or less heat.
i mean i guess i can do it... but do i really want too?
Yes you can Lam.
since hot dogs come pre-cooked, technically, it doesn't matter how long Cliff cooks them.
I say that because those hot dogs looked like they needed more time to me.
clifford is da best
Wow, you have been living at that beach for so long.
I just fart on my hot dogs to warm them up when I'm at the beach.
I can’t even setup an umbrella in the sand/wind and he’s suggesting this? 🙄
why would they not want you to barbecue at the beach, the safest place you could do it. but it's ok to barbecue at a camp ground with lots of dry trees around you that could start on fire and burn someones home down.
there is no sun!
He didn't take a bite.
??? why so many dislikes? this was cool
Where's the magnifying glass?
I literally checked if it was 1st April, what is this video looooool
Just go to the concession stand.
it was cloudy tho
Why would you go through all that trouble and screw it up by putting ketchup on on that dog?
Why not cook the dogs at home and put them in something to keep them hot. Then put them together when you need them
From derek gerard
If the sand wasn’t wet, it would be all over that hotdog. Why do this on a rainy/cloudy day?
I thought it was illegal to put ketchup on a hot dog!!
The guy just ate uncooked sausage. What's the point of his exercise?
Clifford marry meeee!!!
Cool
If rather just bring some doughnuts to the beach and eat them.
This is a joke right?
the likes and dislikes are almost perfectly balanced
as all things should be
And sun works if it is not cloudy fyi
Or wrap the dogs in foil and put them on your already hot engine of your car that you just drove to the beach
I liked Clifford on the other show much more. This just doesn't seem to have the same pizzazz.
Cliff, you beautiful beach.
Should've made a glass top ya dummy.
How is this still happening.
No way those are cooked. Windy, cloudy no way they got to temp. If anything they seared them lightly with a propane torch. Cheaters!
Thumbs down x10 No proof of heat generated. Blowing sand near ground is a MAJOR issue. He used relish. He used "tin foil" and not aluminum foil.
Wouldn't it be easier to get a lighter and make a fire out of the box 🤔
Ketchup does not belong on hot dogs!!
If you are not getting enough heat from the sun, it's basically leaving out your hot dogs in a warm temperature for 30 minutes. If you're presenting a video about cooking to public, I think you should at least have minimal knowledge of food safety.
Stoner engineering
lol so much dislikes. if u hate it don't watch it?
.............
Just when you think the projects on here can't get any more stupid.
What is this lol?
5th grade science project
I normally like this show, but this episode sucked. 30+ minutes is too long.
There's no way they actually cooked those sausages. There is no sun lmao
Not a very visually, demonstrative proof of concept.
I felt pity for guy who is only allowed to do Eater sh!tty video projects.
Pop the hood on your car and use the radiant heat from the engine. :)

Most stupidest idea I've ever seen.
Cold hotdogs today?
What's with all the dislikes? Wasnt everyone hating on the Asian host and begging for this guy back?
I don't think many were "begging" for Cliff to come back. Most of us would only beg for Lucas...
fire him! his the worst! or his boss! wtf
No ☀️
Just because you can, doesnt mean you should. Disgusting.
You sound like the life of the party.
voshi I'm the life of the party cos I'm the one grilling, like a designated dad.
disgusting
I'm not buying it.

Cringe.
Is this a late April fool's joke?
Sorry, but aluminum foil is bad for your health and using it for cooking is even worst.
Annaliza A but he said tin foil

Then stay away from dirt. 7% of dirt is aluminuim. It just happens to be the most abundant metal on the earths crust.
running out of ideas i see...
