On this episode of Picker Road we're kicking off our HUGE CROSS COUNTRY ROAD TRIP with a visit to the beautiful state of MICHIGAN! We start on Mackinac Island where we enjoy the beautiful scenery, the accommodations of the World Famous Grand Hotel and we spend some time with the incomparable JANE SEYMOUR as she celebrates the 4th season renewal of her hit TV show 'Harry Wild' while reminiscing about her history on the island filming "Somewhere in Time".
After we depart Mackinac, we go picking down the Michigan coast, checking out quaint spots including:

Having grown up in Michigan I enjoyed every minute of this video. Lilacs are one of the things I miss the most living in the West. I had the same reaction as you did to the wax holiday candles. Remember them so well!!

The yellow Akro agate at 107:37 is called oxblood lemonade very desirable, pick it up if you see it for the right price. Especially the children tea sets.
You were a week behind us. We had a wonderful lunch at the hotel. But we went to Milwaukee from Chicago. Loved the carriages. Then we went to Detroit and toured Motown. So glad you had a Grand adventure with Jane

Such an amazing video. Thank you for taking me on this journey. I have never seen Mackinac Island, and then that little antique store was outstanding. The prices were amazing. And yes, I do remember and still have three of the wax candles. I think I smiled nonstop throughout this video. Mackinac Island is a slice of heaven on earth! And the fudge: YUM! Have you ever tried Publix Premium Ice Cream in Chocolate Trinity? Its made with real Mackinac fudge.

The Grand Hotel was so beautiful. It actually reminded me of the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. Maybe it’s the blue color of the building. But what a fun visit it was! Lots of goodies you found, can’t wait to see what else you find on this adventure! 🤗

Petoskey stones one of my favorite things to try to find. I have only found one in my adventures in Michigan. My husband is from Detroit, but we now are in Illinois. It was so great to watch your video. We have such great memories of Mackinaw that whole area is beautiful.

I absolutely want to buy one of the Soda fired Pottery dishes @14:12 you know me. I paused your video, read up on soda fired pottery and now I need to have a piece in my hands to touch and love! I don't even care what color it is! It's cool because they fire it similar to Roku but instead of adding paper and wood to create the colors they spray the pottery with baking soda or soda ash, and water at various times during the process and at different temps to get the amazing colors. Makes me excited as a former ceramist to learn these things.
Hi you guys! sorry I got so excited about the pottery I forgot my manners. The needle minders are actually a tac pin. The sewer can attach to their clothing and use it as you described. They could also set it on a table but we all know what happens the minute you set something down. It disappears!?! 😅
Crying crocodile tears... didn't think to check the store...😢🤧🥺😭 the soda pottery is gone... Ebay here I come, Etsy I'm on my way!
