Perhaps a good idea to post details and part numbers of the parts you used so that they appear on a search by others in the same boat. Well done. Nice job.
Great fix!! Well done for perservering to find suitable replacement parts. I must say I also like the confidence in winter of having a similar 4 wheel drive system on my Skoda Octavia Scout.
Hi , a little late I know, but in the trade some grease is put inside the rubber boot as a reserve and to lubricate the inside of the boot as it rubs against itself. Many thanks and some great research for the parts.
So far it was the best to watch, even though you couldn't record too much if it. Hope that one stays with you for some time. Really enjoyed it.
lovely old van they are very rare in the uk I have never seen one for sale
Hi, I think they were sold as the Talbot Express in the UK
This little van would be great to have here in the states!
good idea to post details and part numbers of the parts you used WOW GOOD VIDEO
Great fault finding, excellent result. I would guess you're heading in to the " need for 4x4 " season.
Thanks
Thanks man! :D
Vicious = angry like a piranha
Vis-cuss (sound's like) = like a cv joint.
Viscous like viscosity. Is not like a cv joint it's a fluid clutch more like a torque converter even though almost nothing like a torque converter.
@rimmersbryggeri was merely trying to explain the word vicious has a different meaning 🤭
@@terryatkinson899 You did and you didnt. th-cam.com/video/fRjlrv7lwAo/w-d-xo.html
I will try to rewire my brain on that one! :)
@@SeasideGarage Is not your fault english is very inconsistent in it's pronounciation.
Look like VW T3 drive shaft
The big van problem could be solved, If only you had a smaller 4x4 Citroen! 🤔… wait a minute!!! 😊
Hello, I leave you with the information that the manufacturer of the 4x4 system is the French manufacturer Dangel, which for a long time collaborated with the PSA group in transforming 4x2 cars into 4x4, models such as the Peugeot 504 and 505 4x4 Dangel, Peugeot J5/Citroen C25 among others. You have a little information about this system on French Baptiste Pitois' TH-cam channel. Cheers 💪🙏
They still collaborate. They make the 4x4 system on Peugeot Partner/Expert and the Cirtroën/Fiat/Opel/Toyota counterparts
Thanks but this is not a Dangel. They made two versions of 4x4. Dangel with selectable 4x4 and the Puch-Styer with permanent 4x4... :)
Glad you fixt it. I have had to bring both axels and bearing away and let it restored by a company that restores axels for trucks. That really hurts the wallet. It really hurts the wallet.
If the excess wear in the one end becomes too much, it is possible to have new spline shafts made, though how much that costs versus whether it'd be worth it, that's a different problem altogether... :S
Ammen altså! Hvor er det smukt at se en essence T-shirt out in the wild. Jeg troede kun de lå i mit klædeskab 😂

Slightly personal question here but how come you're English is so good? Are you taught it at school? When I first watched your videos and you were talking about mot's I wondered if you actually were in England! Graham, Norfolk, England where its extremely sunny ( if you go above the rain clouds 😉)
i think i started having english in school at third grade or what's that 10 ish years old also in denmark but in another part
He does use some Bri'ish'isms. I wonder if he spent some time here.
Like Maybelline, maybe he was born with it.

@@J.F.K.O We get taught French and German at 11 years old in high school, after 5 years we barely know how to say hello or order a pint of Lager in those languages!
If I could, I would have this and live off the grid.
Hvordan pokker lykkedes det dig at finde de knokkeled?? Det må have været noget af et detektivarbejde??men stærkt 😎
Lede lede lede lede ;)
AUTOMOBILE Association in uk binned 4x4 on these as more hassle than worth
Vicious vs viscous
I'm m supprised they used such a small engine , im looking for a small diesel engine. Something with the old low pressure injection. Im guessing all small engines still use this. So it can burn waste oils. To generate power for a offgrid home. Generate about 150amps at 30-60vdc to charge batteries. 5-10 hp would be fine. But i would make use of upto 40-50 hp. I have 2 two 150a alternators, two 130amp, a 105a, and another large HD alternator between 130 & 200 amp . So i can load down a large engine. I can handle up to 800 amps charge , and use sbout halft power things. But 100-300 amp charge is fine. If i had access to machine equipment. Id try casting parts to build a engine similar to the first diesel engines. And oil field engines, hit-miss engines, ponyengnes like were used on farms. Use old enginesnd car parts to cast new parts. Id like an opposed twin, with 8" bore and 12" stroke. Designed to run at 400-600 rpm. Or upto 1200 rpm . But a more practical engine would have more like s 4" bore, and 6"-8" stroke,. Collect old brake rotors and drumsti castthe bores., collct old pistons to cast new pistons. And alloy rims to cast the crankcase. Use steel plate and tool steel tound bar to build a crank, also steel flat bar to carve a pair of rods from, make th crank journals th size of common bearings, say. 5.9L cummings diesel main bearings used for rods and mains, so buying a set, will leave you wih a extra set of rod bearings. Almost a completely set of bearings if it had two sets of thrust bearings.. use a Chevy v8 oil pump, and start with a motorcycle engine cam shaft. Either use two cams or modify a cam then have a new cam ground from a 2.5" tool steel round bar. With 24:1 compression, a 4" bore, and probably a 8" stroke. It should not need to rev over 800-1000 rpm to make the required power. Making tons of torque. Actually it would be possible to use almost any piston and rings , make a headfrom foam , coat it in plaster and place in sand for support, and pour the molten aluminum or iron into the foam. Making s perfect copy of the foam in metal. Use chevy v8;valves , 1.60-2.00", mabe 1.65"-2.020", with the combustion chamber in the piston, so casting pistons will be likely. To allow for the combustion chamber. Being basically a 3"- 3.25" wide inverted cone inside the piston. Without the sharp point. Go from 3" to sbout 1"diameter, and be about 1.75"- 2" deep.using up to a 2"wrist pin, and 3" rod journal approximately. Use a pair of 3/8" oil passages in the main journal to feed the rod and wrist pin through a 3/16"braised in tube to the wrist pin. And 3/8 steel tube to the rod journal eith another tube going to the opposite side of the crank case, attached with threaded fittings, that also feed the cam shaft with a smaller 3/16" tube, or just a smaller passage. Also using a 3/16" supply tube to the heads , with a pair of 3/8" retun tubs. Sending the oil back to the 7 quart sump, made from 1/8"steel sheet, weldedto a 1/4" single piece flange to crank case. With 1/4"bolts on 3" crnters roughly. The cylinders bolting to the crank case. Wit a nearly 2" gap for water, with .500"-.650" minimum cylinder wall thickness and .400- .550" thick water jacket thickness With 2" pillarsyo the base for the head bolts. Using multiple .625" bolts, with 3/8" bolts to the jacket from head as an option, maybe not drill and tap the holes, drill and tap the cylinder drill the head 99% through, because the hollow dowels need to be fitted there. Use s stailness oring .040" diameter wire. In a .035"x .035" groove , used with a coper gasket. use a iron flywheel capable of being th fan also the spokes being 16"- 18" diameter 5 blades of 1/2" thick iron. 4" wide at about a 30° angle. Attached to a 6" wide 6" tall ring iron as the mass , with a similar flywheel on the ther end of the crank. The difference being having attachments for a pto / pulley gor belts, a hub centric shaft bolting on to use a 12" shaft, 2" diameter for 6", then 1" for 6" to allow multiple pullies the engine boltedto s 2" tube frame bolted to a 6"-8" thick concrete pad atleast big enough to fit the engine on. If the engine is roughly 2' x 3" a 3' x 4' pad to mount it on atleast , to allow room for the alternators to be mountedto the frame ir concrete, and allow the radiator to be mountedin front of the flywheel, keeping air moving through it. A shroud from radiator to flywheel also used to brace the mounting. Use. Common automotive water pump, using an accessory drive from yhe cam shaft or oil pump drive shaft, using a 1" shaft running crank speed or 1/2 crank speed to spin thr water pump, and possibly a small generator of 10 amps or so, designed to charge a starting battery, possibly use a12v starter to start the engine. spun by a flywheel and matching starter attached to the crank. Possibly usea compression release, spin the engine over. Then release the compression. To start the engine. Im hopingit would be possible to run the engine for 10-20:years brfore needing to hone the bores and replace the rings. Running about 4 hours 4 days a week, for 10+ years. Also the head should have a 1/8" npt plug to remove to test the compression. To see the compression is over 20:1, it shold be 24:1 new hopefully it makes 100 ftlbs TQ idling and full throttle about 150+ and make 30-40 hp at 1500 rpm use a electronic governor, with a mechanical safety. That shuts off the fuel if the engine revs over a set rpm sorry to ramblr, just an idea i have.. good day!!
