Anyone else want to see both Shirou and Archer doing their version of the unlimited blade works chant at the same time, and when they both say Unlimited Blade works, it's half Shirou's UBW and Half Archer's, showing that both may have different ideals, but they still are one in the same person.
The infinite loop. How many versions of Shirou will it take to save all humanity? Those ideals are selfish and flawed to think that you could ever remove feelings from someone, emotions are what makes you who you are and thus as long as love and hate exist, humanity cannot be saved. We only bloom once and while we're here we can only try to do our best to impact those we meet in a positive manner, and maybe we can live on a bit longer after we leave this world.
Archer wouldve definately whipped shirou around the castle. i think the only reason he lost because he saw shirou's future changing right before his very eyes. which made that moment even more epic
Actually, the game states that Archer could've won at any moment, and that even after being stabbed an Heroic Spirit like him could've still easily shrugged it off and killed Shirou. But the battle they fought was not simply a physical one, it was first and foremost a fight between their beliefs and ideals, Archer's conviction wavered, Shirou's didn't.
Archer states it several times even in the anime that he wasn't aiming to just kill him, he wanted to destroy his belief utterly. In other words he wanted him to admit he was wrong. That's because Archer was almost positive that merely killing SHirou wouldn't change his fate as a "cleaner". He was actually hoping that killing SHirou's ideal itself, the ideal of a "Hero of Justice", would negate the creation of a Heroic Spirit that represents Emiya, the "hero of Justice". In the game at the end, when Shirou stabs him the game actually point blank shows Archer with a sword ready to stab Shirou, yet all Archer does is accept his defeat since he actually started to realize he still believed in his ideal, even with his regrets. And then Gilgamesh stabs Archer with a couple dozen swords....
Yea. Did u remember the part where Archer's Reality Marble started to change and one half of the 'sky' beacane clear blue towards the end, as if truly taking in Shirou's words and conflicting them against Archer's, accepting them and clashing against them? That was some symbolic shit
In the VN Archer never activates Unlimited Bladeworks. They fight in the normal castle. In the anime they used the Unlimited Bladeworks landscape as a visual representation of SHirou overtaking Archer. In the original story you instead see the fight from Archer's perspective as he keeps admonishing himself for fighting at Shirou's level. He could have easily summoned any noble Phantasm and killed him on the spot, yet he kept fighting blade to blade, as Shirou went beyond his limits over and over and over again. He was so reminded of his past that he basically gave up.

It's the more mature one, he doesn't lose himself in an abusing relationship, he doesn't end changed by anything, he mature at the point that he is able to understand how childish he was, but at the same time he keeps clinging on his dream, with such a strength to impress even himself from a life where anything that could go wrong went wrong, the person that more than anyone else had a reason to kill him... And he still impressed him. He made change his mind to Archer, or heroic spirit EMIYA. That's impressive. Greatest route guys, this is the one with the greatest possibility to see a very greate hero in the future. P.S. Before anyone tells me anything, in all the 3 routes he doesn't end like Archer, and Archer doesn't come from the "lost" Illya's route.

I watch Zero before reading Fate Stay Night, but i don't regret it. Alot of what happened at least the key points in Fate Zero anime has been explained in Fate Stay Night, but not vice versa.

You spoil yourself a lot about SN. If for you is ok i can't tell you shit, but you won't live the series as Nasu created it. Understanding who Sakura is was one of the most interisting scene in Heaven's Feel, and the first appearence of Gilgamesh in Stay Night is GLORIOUS, but you already know that.

Somebody else agrees that Unlimited Blade works is one of the greatest animes ever made? Not only as and adaptation, as an independent work is awesome, just as good or even better than Fate Zero.

When i play this song, a weird thing happens where at certain intervals, it get this electronic glitch / interference as it plays and it lasts only for 1-2 seconds. When i rewind it to see if it was part of the song its no longer there. Kinda reminds me of Shirou's tracing and makes this song a lot more mysterious and epic.
