It basically means "the black woman walks with style" Celia was discriminated and brought power to the afro-latina woman, kinda like "yes bish im black, I walk with style, and im proud of it." she spoke her voice and was revolutionary. She is an icon 💗 this was also savage back then, everything about it was meant to show everybody what she's capable of. The "nude" part was symbolic for purity or showing her skin confidently and naturally, like saying "a black woman's skin is craved and longed for, you wish to have it" throwing shade at the racists. She spoke her voice with such style and uniqueness, she was herself and she loved herself. That gave the afro-Latinas or black woman in general more power and confidence to be themselves without fear of discrimination and hate. She was fierce and beautiful. Thanks for the reaction.

Not Cuban, culturally speaking raised in a Hispanic family, I found in my family black skin was more celebrated than white. I remember my mom and dad checking out a black woman and commenting how beautiful she is or was. Dad, though we tend to come in different colors, considers himself black mix, while moms considers herself indigenous. The American culture is indeed more divided, which is the reason why they think it is a rarity to see Latinos celebrating each other.

Of course, given the ridiculous relationship between blacks and whites in the US it looks small by comparison.
I also have a vague memory that Cubans were told to intermarry a long time ago in the hopes of improving race relations?....or is that another Latin country?
@@belkyhernandez8281 don't know about that
Not Cuban, culturally speaking raised in a Hispanic family, I found in my family black skin was more celebrated than white.
Man, I watched this music video as a kid and never noticed the naked woman before 😂😂😂
LA VIDA ES UN CARNAVAL. GREAT VIDEO.😊😊😊

Am so happy to see people discovering the legendary Celia Cruz! She was so beloved and sorely missed. Please check out her song Bemba Colora. I believe you'll enjoy it immensely. Also, Dominican merenguero Johnny Venturas' song El Pinguino; dare you not to dance!

La negra tiene tumbaoooo !!! 🎶💃❤️
Celia will always be the Queen!
I interpret the song as the woman walks in the truth and is not affraid to show who she is, Celia says she doesn't walk side ways and doesn't hide who she is. It's means to have confidence in who you are and yes feel comfortable your own skin.
soy latina asi que uff tremenda obra de arte
Celia Cruz aka the GOAT- the model was not technically nude - this is a genius visual representation calling-to-action a self-assessment of the collective, an invitation to humanity to pay-attention-to and to observe the underlying purity of our essence and to expand our mind
she was saying! this sista has sshhhhtyle! and this video is about the Sista's empowerment. Nudity can portray power too! and gotta admit she does it with such flare it doesn't look pornography! full points to you for discussing Celia la Reina de Salsa! And the Queen of Cuba!
