I'm 73 years old and hearing her voice makes me feel like I was 17 again and I was in the Navy and headed to Vietnam..... Their music could always calm me down when things were dangerous and the long hours I worked. ✝️🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸

I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Carpenters. Nurses played them as part of my therapy going through my battle with cancer. Along with some Helen Redding. I just melt hearing them both. I thanks them SO because MUSIC IS MY LIFE and cure for whatever I'm going through in life. Wish I could meet those Nurses again to thank them and let them see just how far I've come.🥰💖

I saw the Carpenters in concert in fall 1973. Her voice was as pure live in concert as it was in an acoustically engineered recording studio. Pure golden honey. One of the greatest singers the world had the pleasure to meet. It is a dream

Karen was and will always be the VOICE to me. I'm 59 year's old now, and my Heart still misses her precious little time that she had on this Earth. She passed on in 1983 at such a forever young age. 😭 she will never be forgotten in my memories of and her brother. I play her music all the time and hopefully when my time is up on this Earth I will get to see and hear her Angelic voice and Heaven. May she rest in peace forever more and sleep in heaven with our heavenly father and the angels!

I was only 13 when the news of her passing was announced on the radio and it broke my heart. I loved her angelic voice and music back then and I still do. I'll never get tired of listening to those two. Gotta love him for his amazing gift and talent for picking out a hit song and her for the just beautiful unique voice and ability to convey emotions in the truly unique way that she did when she sang. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that she is truly missed

My mother loves Carpenters. These songs were always playing when I was a child. Hearing them takes me back to long, sunny summer days. Sitting on the stairs watching my mother sing along as she was doing housework. That endless summer of childhood. So relaxing, and so poignant: wishing for that time of innocence that will never return.

I have been on a Carpenters kick for a couple months now too....me and my sister used to wear their albums out ....we would pretend to be them ....never even coming close to as good lol.... unfortunately my sister passed away also about 10 yrs ago I've lost 2 sisters so I know that kind of pain it's a hole that will always be there......their music defineitly takes u back to a happier more simple time in life and in this world as much as it could have been in the early 70s anyway....i was born in 1970 so I'm lucky enough to have had this music in my life from it's beginning and mine..

Most of the 70's music was so soothing 😊. It was hard not to feel love for one another. Our music brought us together. We never even thought about hurting one another when music was on..😊..We would all just sway back and forth together and sing our hearts out. I was very blessed to have grown up during the 70-80's music 😊. I'm 61 y/o now and it's still all I listen to. I just couldn't adapt to the 90's and after that.

I'm listening to this album and recalling all the good old days when Karen was my favorite singer with the golden voice. She sang with such passion and made every song special and unforgettable. She left us too early ....but her songs continue to live on in those of us who grew up singing along with her then. May she sing on with the angels above and smile whenever anyone of her fans here play her songs....

I saw them in concert in the early 70s when I was 4 or 5 years old. It made a HUGE impression on me and her songs are embedded in my memory. I kept the ticket stubs and the concert booklet. Her tragic death gave a name to eating disorders so that by the time I was in high school in the early 80s help was available. It saved the life of one of my friends. As an adult the purity of her voice amazes me. A great talent taken too soon!

Most of these I listened to on 45. But I have a Reel-to-reel of her that is magical. RCA music club had reel-to-reels in the 80's for people with high end hifi systems. One of them I ordered is now very rare, it is 4-track. But the most rarest I have is not of the Carpenters. It's a Thin Lizzy that is not only 4-track, it's 4-track surround sound. So you place the speakers around you. When you hear the car racing in "boys are back in town", it drives around you 360 degrees.

    YESTERDAY ONE MORE
    When I was young
    I'd listen to the radio
    Waitin' for my favorite songs
When they played I'd sing along
    It made me smile.
    Those were such happy times
    And not so long ago
How I wondered where they'd gone
    But they're back again
Just like a long lost friend
All the songs I loved so well.
    Every Sha-la-la-la
    Every Wo-o-wo-o
    Still shines
    Every shing-a-ling-a-ling
    That they're startin' to sing's
    So fine.
When they get to the part
    Where he's breakin' her heart
It can really make me cry
    Just like before
    It's yesterday once more.
Lookin' back on how it was
    In years gone by
And the good times that I had
    Makes today seem rather sad
    So much has changed.
It was songs of love that
    I would sing to then
    And I'd memorize each word
    Those old melodies
Still sound so good to me
As they melt the years away.
    Every Sha-la-la-la
    Every Wo-o-wo-o
    Still shines
    Every shing-a-ling-a-ling
    That they're startin' to sing's
    So fine.
    All my best memories
    Come back clearly to me
Some can even make me cry.
    Just like before
    It's yesterday once more.
