    Love this monitor. Part of the reason I chose it is the matte coating. I dunno why people seem so upset about it, it still looks fantastic.

      I had a qd Oled and the LG 27gs95qe side by side.. and I can confidently tell you I couldn't see any difference between the coatings in a dark room. Qd Oled looks so much worse in daylight or suboptimal ambient light though.

      @guttalexandrumihai9564 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It is some truth behind the people hate for matte coating...to see the difference you must look in the same time at 2 monitors, one with matte coating and one glossy made by the same company. Unfortunately there are none based on same tech, but the closest example will be ASUS WOLED 32UCDP (matte coating) vs ASUS QD-OLED 32UCDM (GLOSSY). If you look both same time, it is impossible to not see :
      1. The GLOSSY one has a crisper and sharper image, giving better details. This is not marginal, can be seen by anyone having eyes. At which amount can anyone consider this to make a huge difference, depends from person to person, but the difference exist, and for me personally I will appreciate to be in a a 3-15%, being situational to the content shown on the screen.
      2. The light diffusion of volume fog, halo's around static lights, gradient's look definitively worst on matte, with loose or hide of details, compared to glossy counterparts.
      3. On white papers in word, excel or when surfing web sites some dirty fuzziness can be seen, but i will say that depending on the distance from the monitor, it is easier or harder to see.
      So, if you pay 1000 dollars for a matte and same money or perhaps even less for glossy, and the glossy have a btter image, why not to pay the money for the better image with eventually smaller price.
      On the other hand, matte coating is a need if you work and have the sun or other light sources pointing to the monitor . In 1-2 hours (if someone can resist 2 hours in such environment), I personally can't do half of hour with glossy screen directly exposed to sun rays or another direct source of light, the difference is major in favour of the matte coating. And your eyes will thank you for your choice.
      In the end it's not about hating necessarily the matte coatings, but hating perhaps your own decision regarding to your needs of the monitor use. If you need it only for gaming, the GLOSSY QD OLED is undoubtedly the best affordable tech in 2024, there is no discussion here. But, if you need a monitor which you use for work also, and you work being exposed to direct sunlight or static light sources, the glossy ones are a bad choice, and also the QD OLED is not the choice here, because no mater how much reviewers want to hide it by not mentioning it, QD OLED's have fringing which is observable even on 3rd gen gen panels, and it is more annoying then WOLED's, and way worst if you wear glasses. But the fringing and the degree it can bother someone is a thing to test individually, because not all people feel it's effect the same or are equally exposed to it's effects. For me it's major, it really gives me headeaches when reading texts, and make it difficult to focus for long periods.
      And there is one more thing to take in account also. If you come from a 4-7 years old monitor, almost any QD OLED or WOLED, glossy or matte at 4k will look better, and will drive anything better, that will make you happy or not, in regard to your new acquisition.

    I’ve had mine since release and I love it. I know it wasn’t a great deal but for me the pixel sound, clean design and option for 480hz was well worth the premium. I wasn’t willing to compromise on having to use a monitor with curves, tacky design, or purplish black levels like on QD. Ultimately these are enthusiast level monitors so you can’t expect them all to be budget friendly.
    My only regret was not waiting for a 27” bc 32” is just too damn big for competitive fps.

    I have HP Envy 32" 1440p IPS display with integrated B&O speakers.
    This LG looks a great replacement with way better picture quality, and 'Pixel Sound' providing the same or even better audio hopefully.
    But the cost is bonkers, especially as I've no need for dual mode nor high refresh rates.
    Is there a 32' IPS or OLED monitor, 1440p or higher, known for having great integrated speakers?

      The solution to OLED burn-in is OLED becoming so cheap that replacement every 5 years is affordable. But the price remains stubbornly high. I remember when OLED was first being talked about as a tech, that it could basically be printed and cut like paper, dramatically simplifying the traditional lcd with its backlights and many layers.

    I'm one of those crazy people who pre-ordered this monitor. At first, I didn't use the 1080p mode much, but as time has gone on I find myself switching to it more and more. It's great in combination with a program like Lossless Scaling when you want to play an older game that can uncap FPS and then 2x or 3x your frames. The 480hz mode is also just so smooth. That alone is almost worth it to run it as often as possible. I can definitely feel the difference between 480hz and 240hz.

    • @theendurance

      is 1080p very blurry?

    • @poodapoorc
      @poodapoorc 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@theendurance On its own? Of course not. It's going to look like a 1080p monitor would look at 32 inches. The pixel per inch isn't optimal, but I use the 1080p mode for gaming almost every day so I am also used to it. I use the 4K mode primarily for work and single player games where I can get 60+ frames, but I use the 1080p mode for everything else and usually use Lossless Scaling to get my FPS > 240. The 480Hz is also just nice to use. Overall, I don't mind the 1080p mode at all. It works really well, and one of the fringe benefits I have found that no one really talks about, is that when you're on a work call and you have to share your screen, you can easily flip from 4K to 1080p really fast so people can actually see what's on your screen.

    This question is a little off topic but cant figure it out lol hoping someone can add input here
    I am very confused about the sound bar having 2.1 and not having 2.1, especially when it comes to gaming, for example, I have a LG G4, I also have a Vizio Elevate Soundbar (Does not have 2.1) The sound bar is connected into the TV eARC port, my PS5 is connected into my HDMI 1 port into the TV.
    I am looking to purchase the Samsung Q990D bc it has 2.1 HDMI. And I want the best sound for gaming.
    My question is, in order to be able to use 2.1 in the Samsung sound bar can I still connect the eARC from the sound bar to the tv and the ps5 into the hdmi 1 port and still get the benefit of the 2.1 that the Samsung Q990D sound bar offers now for gaming?
    Or do I have to connect my ps5 and soundbar differently to have 2.1 running for the soundbar and ps5 this to work?

      I disagree with both of you, slightly. I’m currently running a 6950xt on am4 (x3d) with a fo32u2 and I can run almost anything natively around 50-60 fps on aaa. True the 4090 does a better job of course but it can’t even utilize all this monitor, natively. To say that only the sweatiest of players can use this monitor is silly. Fsr and dlss have made 4k a reality for many. There’s a boat load of mid tier cards out there that can run counterstrike @ 1080 all day at high fps. Plus this monitor then gives you the 4k clarity for media. I feel like this monitor is the unsung hero of this current generation that gives flexibility to many that most won’t even give a second look at because of price and design choices. If I had 2k to spend I’d buy a 4070 super and this monitor all day before I dumped it all on a 4090. Just my 2 cents.

    Holding it back is also the lack of Glossy display, no USB C or Dolby Vision. On the plus I that unlike Asus who designs its gaming line targeting 12 year old boys, LG has gone with a beautifully clean, professional design for Adults who also like to game. Another big plus is their internal speakers, Asus has none. Really, I would be happy with 240Hz. Is LG likely to produce a glossy display with the aspects I'm interested in any time soon? Image accuracy, quality for movies, tv series, games and very importantly, text quality is what I'm most interested in, this includes Dolby Vision compatibility.
