That might be why she was going for Greg, she was already poly and thought it'd be okay like it was with the others, but Pearl started to get jealous because she saw Greg as a threat, shape shifted into him, and accidentally blew up the relationship.

@@sofig1237 but Pearl doesn't consent to being in a polyamorous relationship. She may not have understood what monogamy as a term was, but she definitely understood it enough that playing second fiddle to her mistresses all the time clearly rubbed her the wrong way. She thought it'd be just her and Rose forever.
@@nevaehhamilton3493 yeah I understand. I'm not saying their relationship was good or healthy, I'm just saying that they *did* have a relationship, I don't like it when people deny that they had a relationship. Whether or not that relationship was good or healthy is a different conversation but I don't like it when fans deny it and say that they weren't together because they were. Fans act like Pearl's feelings for Rose were unrequited but we have canon evidence that Rose loved her back. Regardless of if the relationship was bad or had issues, I just don't want people to deny the fact that they were actually together and Pearl's feelings were reciprocated.
I would argue that Pink/Rose couldn’t ever fully trust a relationship with any Gem. She would always question with Pearl, for example, because Pearl’s purpose was to serve her.
Big props to Greg for being so himself that he managed to swindle Rose from literally all the gorgeous gem women she was involved with. All he had to do was play the guitar and boom!
In real life, bismuth is slightly radioactive and the time in which it loses all its radiation is equivalent to more than double the age of the universe.
also in real life bismuth melts pretty easily but in the show shes just casually bathing in magma which is way hotter than the melting point of bismuth, i always thought that was funny, it would've made more sense if like garnet or amethyst were blacksmiths since their melting point is like tripled but it IS a kids show i guess lol
everyone's saying how bad they feel for pearl or that it sucks how she never got to be with rose, but vox literally mentions in the video how they were involved but not exclusive! i honestly wouldn't even be all that surprised if those three in particular were with one another at different times interchangably (or simultaneously,) especially given pearl and bismuth's bond in the present. pearl said it herself, "i was fine with the men who would come into her life now and again," it was only greg who she resented due to rose eventually choosing him over any of them, and their relationship effectively leading to her death. this news definitely puts both bismuth and pearl and especially bismuth and rose/pink's dynamics into a fascinating new context!!
Personally, I interpret this as Pearl choosing to pretend to be fine with it because of the fact that she doesn't want to hurt Rose's feelings and because she is a Pearl who belongs to Rose (she was never freed from her role as a servant/slave, due to some wack-ass technicality) and cannot disobey her even if she wanted to. My personal interpretation was that Pearl wanted Rose all to herself, and was more than a little displeased by having to play second fiddle to Rose's mistresses. In order for a non-monogamous relationship to actually be classified as true polyamory, _all_ parties must consent to it, and promise to not let their jealousy get the better of them since they are sharing each other. Pearl was clearly uncomfortable with the idea of having to share Rose with another person she doesn't even know or care to know, as they're essentially nothing more than flings, and therefore, doesn't consent to it. Ergo, Rose is actively cheating on Pearl, that is, if the two were ever actually in a relationship to begin with, because it's clear that the feelings are one-sided and Rose has no interest in Pearl, at least not on a non-platonic level. For those of you saying "I ain't reading allat", I understand. This is just my interpretation.
@@nevaehhamilton3493 yet Pearl clearly never bothered to TELL Rose that she was upset about it.. yeah, Rose doesn't have the power to read minds, how would she know how Pearl felt when she said nothing to her about it? That's a Pearl problem, not a Rose problem
I mean, are we REALLY surprised at this point? Rose already mentioned in a flashback episode that she got with other people besides Greg and Pearl. Plus, considering how she ditched Spinel, this revelation is just, like, a drop in a bucket.
Honestly if you live for thousands of years I think your perspective on relationships are going to be a little different than humans not to mention even if it was similar living for a long time leaves you more time to find out what you like in somebody. Though this is also a great reveal to really show how toxic pink diamond/rose was and how her love is different than Steven’s. She uses it almost to get what she wants while Steven uses it to help others and usually forgets about himself
At this point you can’t convince me that the crystal gems were basically a large poly relationship or that one gay friend group that probably were attracted to each other
I think if Rose was able to fully heal emotionally from her time with the diamonds, and recognize her self worth and her effect on people, her Bismuth and Peal would make an amazing throuple. However, even at the end of Rose's life I don't think she was there yet emotionally, which makes me sad, but ultimately glad she found Greg who liked liked her in spite of her problems. Peal and Bismuth is cute tho, love that for them and if we get a continuation i definitely wanna see an episode about them fusing. I can see the episode starting with a house they're staying in exploding from how huge they are, because their scars regrading deep love are influencing their ability to connect. Then someone notices (Probably steven) and he helps them through it.
On the whole 'making something out of nothing' when bismuth made dirt into metal and then into a sword- didnt pink use dirt to make 'shards' to fake her shattering? could that be something she either learned from or was inspired by bismuth to figure out how to do? Interesting thought~!
That's a good question actually can all gems under her (like all blues having some kind of water or ice power) do that if that's the case, after all rubies do burn hot

Nah, Garnet clearly had a crush on Rose as seen in the Answer and even in the movie when Amethyst took form of Rose. I'd argue Amethyst didn't have a crush on Rose.
If we get a new Steven Universe season, I’d love to see Bismuth and Peal explore their relationship more similar to how Ruby and Sapphire did, but now in a Steven and Connie way were they can be their own separate individuals, but can come together at times. That’d be cool.
It's kind of heartbreaking how this relationship ended. But now I am even more curious about all the things that happened before Steven's birth. I know it's unlikely that she'll return to the setting, but it would be amazing if The audience gets to see more of this universe outside Stevens point of view.
Uh oh, that makes the proofing and bubbling a lot more… sad. Bismuth is one of my favorite gems, I take all the Bismuth content. PLEASE MAKE A DEEP DIVE ON BISMUTH
Bismuth is one of my favorite Steven Universe characters and this is definitely a big shift on how I interpreted her backstory, I think right now I’m still working out my opinion on a relationship between Bismuth and Rose but over time I could come to like it, especially if we got to see flashbacks of them together in a sequel show or movie
Okay, nobody kill me, but... I kind of like the idea of Bismuth and Jasper together. Hear me out, two gems that had the absolute dedication to Pink diamond but also have complicated feelings about her. Two people that are very much proud of who they are. Two people who are both buff with long hair and are absolute powerhouses. You can't tell me that Jasper wouldn't be a little infatuated with somebody who makes weapons and is a battle-hardened warrior. You also can't tell me Bismuth wouldn't find Jasper's fiery passion for battle and gemkind a bit attractive.
Now, I ship Pearl and Bismuth even more. Both of them used to be in love with Rose but were hurt by her, so they understand each other’s pain so much more deeply. I really want to see a Bismuth and Pearl fusion!
I feel like this is something that would benefit from the perspective of a queer person's analysis. Rose and the gems have never experienced love much like many queer people, so when thrusted into a world where love is discovered like when queer people suddenly come out of the closest and are finally able to love at a grown age, it tends to be a very different experience than the heteronormative lens in which you are analyzing this.
Maybe they were just queer-platonic? You can kiss your friends without feeling romantic attractions to them. Knowing this show my theory isn't too much of a stretch
I dunno, I think Rose was kind of at her best when she was a nostalgic figure fondly remembered. I like the reality of her character for the plot but i dont know if i would enjoy watching it in real time.
I actually really like this idea with Bismuth and Rose being a thing. I feel like it characterizes Rose a bit more in her decision to bubble Bismuth. If they were in love and she had to eliminate her for her own safety, vs Bismuth just being some soldier who she didn't have a strong connection with personally that she had to take care of so the whole cover wasn't blown
I see it the opposite kind of. The only reason to bubble Bismuth where she didnt bubble the others was because Bismuth knew Rose's sword couldnt shatter a gem... so Bismuth would have known that when Rose faked her death as Pink that it would have been a lie. Bismuth hates the diamonds and I dont think she would have just gone along without issue if Rose was honest with her. So at that point you either shatter your friend/lover or bubble her until you figure something out... but Rose never did figure anything out.

Okay that is something I never expected and that definitely makes the situation of Rose bubbling Bismuth even worse💀. Who knows how many more lovers rose had in her army.
Did Rose ever truely love any of her lovers or was it just misguided adoration? Not one of her relationships has me convinced that she could feel genuin love.
She very clearly did with Steven and Greg, she was a broken person who didn't know what she wanted or healthy love even was until Greg. Pearl enabled her and never let her grow, Bismuth wanted to kill gems because she went extreme, no one Until Greg actually talked to her on what was wrong and what to do better. She was never truly equal with a gem, but Greg clearly changed that. Steven on the other hand is healthier but still has his own damage to work through
@@fallenking578 I think this is close to the mark. Pearl "loved" Pink Diamond, but how can you disentangle authentic love from preprogrammed subservience? Meanwhile, Bismuth may have had something with rose, but she HATED the diamonds, and Rose was a diamond. She would never be able to be honest with Bismuth. My theory is that is why bismuth was bubbled, because Bismuth knew about the sword and woukd know it couldnt kill Pink diamond. Meanwhile Greg didnt know about Pink or the war or have any weird complex attachments to any of Rose's identities. He would have been able to love her for her, and not just as a person but love her for her alienness too. Love all parts of her without judgement and Rose woukd have been abke to be who she wanted with him. She ended up doing that and choosing to be part of Steven.
At this point rose quartz is basically the nicki minaj of the series if she was a jazz singer and dumped woman instead men and she was magical being that was hated, than loved, than her own son got mixed about her. Game is game
Idk… they’re gems. I wouldn’t be surprised if monogamy just wasn’t really a concept to them. Sure we have garnet but even then garnet has those moments with pearl. I think this just isn’t monogamous lol
We do know that polyamory is looked down on with that one caterpillar gem whose whole deal is that they're a polycule and that's unnatural in gem society. In fact love in general seems to go against the grain. Fusion is a tool to achieve a goal. We dont really see many homeworld gems openly in a romantic relationship.

honestly i would love to see bismuth, pearl and voleyball as a happy trouple
Pearl throwing a FIT rn
She was legit with everyone but pearl
@@neethegee8954 homegirl can’t catch a break
Pearl was truly a sad character
@@neethegee8954there's Rebecca Sugar sketches of Rose and Pearl kissing. I think they were polyamorous
@sofig1237 judging by the show not for long, I'm guessing
We NEED to see a pearl and bismuth fusion
Okay that is something I never expected and that definitely makes the situation of Rose bubbling Bismuth even worse💀. Who knows how many more lovers rose had in her army.
I dont want to think about that🤮
ROSE FOR THE STREETS🗣🗣🗣
You guys and Sugar are cooking and i'm here For it! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
After watching this, her debut episode hits even harder.
Rose was WILDING 😭😭
SHE FOR THE STREETS
Like someone else said... SHE FOR THE HOMEWORLD 😭🙏
Jesus Christ this love triangle is insane-
i just woke up and this is the first thing i see
Guess you could say bismuth had... rizzmuth
At this point rose quartz is basically the nicki minaj of the series if she was a jazz singer and dumped woman instead men and she was magical being that was hated, than loved, than her own son got mixed about her. Game is game
Imagine their fusion ☠️☠️☠️☠️💅🔥💔💔
😂😂😂😂There's no lie that we never know what to expect
If the show _did_ have revelations about Rose after the big one that made me think better of her, I don't remember any of them.
THIS IS NEW? That's actually rare nowadays
PEARL AND GREG DATING MAKES SO MUCH SENSE OMG THEY LOOK LOVELY IN THE NEW POSTER WTF!!
The crystal gems were definitely all messing around with each other. We all saw those fusion dances 😂
So is it Rose x Bismuth comfirmed?! That means.. Poor Greg... i feel so sorry for him
Why? Bismuth had been bubbled ages before greg and Rose chose to be with Greg over facing Bismuth and unbubbling her
Pearl and Bismuth both helping each other get over their toxic ex! They’re such a cute couple XD!!!!!
WHAT
IS THAT THUMBNAIL 💀💀💀💀💀💀
Rizz Quartz.
I looked at my phone saw the notification and instantly said wtf
The question at this point is now, was there anybody that WASN'T in a relationship with Rose?!?
Ruby and Sapphire.
The only one who didn't get a relationship with rose was steven 💔
