The best review of these fans I’ve seen! I like how you show how deep the blade pitch is and how to take apart for cleaning. Thanks!
You’re welcome, and thank you for the kind words!
how classy love how both oscillations can work simultaneously
Agreed! It really expands the fan's ability to circulate air in a room.
wow, now this is a review, i went to purchase mine after watching this, thank you.
No problem! :)
I love this fan, I've been using it every day for a month now. It's quiet and effective.
Glad to hear that! I can say the same about mine.
That grille design reminds me of vornado and I like how they have a knob for easy removal of the blade where I have to pull it out on a real vornado fan.
It certainly is a nice feature!
Amazing and high quality review! I also really like your desk setup!
Thanks!!
Wow! This fan has the widest range of speeds and an amazing list of premium features. Bet it costs a lot!
About $110 USD. It is relatively expensive, but considering its features, I think it's not too bad!
The features are excellent. I feel this would be a perfect companion on a desk. What is your opinion?
Very neat Fan that looks so classy
Agreed!
Hope VIRNADO do one with all this features, not just WiFi
Wow this is exactly what I need for my hot room!
Excellent review! Could you provide an update on how the fan is holding up? Wondering about the quality of construction after a few months in. Thanks
Thank you! I’ve been using it off and on throughout the summer and it’s been flawless. I don’t use the wifi features much so I can’t say much about software bugs, but the fan itself has been reliable and plenty sufficient for my needs. I rarely had to turn it up past the ~5th speed.
@@TheSuperFanMan thanks!
One thing about putting the power supply in the base of the fan is that that power supply makes heat and that dreo showed it also being used on the floor and carpet just build up lots of heat that my 633dc does that
Good point!
Well for me personally i don't care how much smart features this fan have!
I want to know how much powerful this fan is, and does this fan would do the job in room size 5m x 4m !?
For a 5x4m room, this fan might be on the smaller side. With oscillation engaged, I’m sure it can project the air throughout the entire space, but the power of the airflow will taper off in the far corners of the room that’s opposite to the fan’s. I would say two of these fans can adequately serve a 5x4m room. It’s pretty hard to find a single non-industrial portable fan that can handle a very large room.
@@TheSuperFanMan Thanks a loot 👍
I am seeing some reviews of this fan that shows that it can be pointed a bit down towards the floor and yours shows it being pointed at the ceiling but only going as low as level.
I’ve noticed that as well. It’s possible that Dreo updated this model’s design recently to improve the vertical oscillation range, but my fan only goes from horizontal to straight up at its maximum vertical oscillation range setting.
Can you do a review on the Dyson AM09, and how to clean it too after a while? :D Just a super deal on it for $200 down from $450.
That’s a really good deal! I don’t have plans to buy a Dyson unfortunately. Cleaning is usually a challenge on Dyson fans and heaters because the fan component is enclosed in the base. I believe the upper half does come off, so you could blast the insides with an air compressor to get rid of most build-up. I wouldn’t recommend submerging any part in water to clean it, especially since this is the fan + heater combo model.
Yeah I had to take off the base to get to the filter of just my fan. It's crazy -_-'@@TheSuperFanMan
Cool fan Super-Fan-Man i have the 9" AC Model and i want to get the white color one same one but in that color. i enjoyed the video
Thanks Lemont! Glad you enjoyed it.
Cool, do you have a video of your Dreo?
Hey, so i just got a Vornado, same design as your Electrohome air circulator, except it’s a variable speed, and I was wondering, how do you take the front grille off?
The three “legs” of the grille sit in metal tabs. Use both hands to push the legs one at a time towards the centre and outwards. They should pop out. Once one leg comes out, the remaining two will come out with little effort. Just be careful not to let the legs scratch the paint.
Now i can clean it and possibly bend the thick metal blades back since it is a little bent
Nice! Yep you should be able to adjust the blades back into alignment. I had to do that on my Electrohome.
Is the rear grill removable too?
The rear grille can’t be removed. But removing the front gives you plenty of access to clean the entire interior of the fan.
Wow, I've never seen a blade so steep before! Is the grill able to smooth out the airflow considering how deep the blade pitch is?
Yep! The grille and the enclosure do a very good job at focusing the airflow. I tested the fan without the front grille on and the airflow is nowhere as smooth or concentrated.
Do that fan work with Alexa
Yep it sure does!
Hi there! Just when I thought this fan's blades couldn't possibly spin ANY faster - it tops it like it's no big deal. As if the previous speed was merely child's play. Is this fan good for any sized bedroom? And can you feel the air from further away in a room? Like does it have good reach? I'm a shift worker so I DREAD the summer heat when I have to sleep in the heat while the world is awake. I don't tolerate heat well. What's your take on this? I've got an AC unit but I also crash at my parent's place for my 12 hour shifts to save on much needed sleep and gas. The ceiling fan is fine but doesn't help much during the peak summer heat. Thanks in advance!
Hi! This fan definitely would work in most bedrooms, even living rooms too depending on the size. My room is 11 x 11 ft and it’s plenty powerful even running on medium speeds. I’m sure it can handle larger rooms without an issue. This is an air circulator, which is a type of fan that projects air in a concentrated, narrow column, so on higher speeds it probably would be overbearingly powerful if pointed directly at yourself. You can feel the effects of the fan more comfortably if you angle the fan in your general direction but letting the air bounce off nearby walls. Hope it helps!
@@TheSuperFanMan Thanks for the information!
No problem!
is the power brick auto volt?
Yep! It readily accepts 100-240v and 50/60Hz AC. A simple prong adapter is all you need to use this fan anywhere in the world. At 1:17 in the video, the specs of the power brick can be seen.
Thanks, awesome video and review🎉❤
No problem and thank you!
What model number is this fan?
It seems to have two model numbers: CF714S and DR-HAF004S.
@@TheSuperFanMan Thanks so much!
No worries!
Performance-wise, what vintage fan can this stack up to? I feel like it's probably comparable to the 1970s Mastercraft 12” Oscillating Fan
Oh it’s way more than that! This blows any traditional oscillating table fan out of the water, even 70s fans. I’d say it’s comparable to older 12” high velocity fans.
@@TheSuperFanMan Nice to see good performing consumer grade fans still made.
Not sure if I'm correct here, but did the average consumer fan from the 90s - early 2010s fall off in terms of performance, causing companies like Dreo and Woozoo to start making new, high quality fans to fill that gap?
I would say so. I've also noticed similar trends in many other appliances as well.
@@TheSuperFanMan ... and now I'm interested im seeing a "vintage vs modern comparision" but with fans with *similar* inflaton adjusted prices, because most I've seen put a
Can I buy on Indian Amazon,,,,
Is it possible
Please reply
I'm not too sure about the availability in India, sorry.
As simple as that grill and blade disassembly is (which is nice). How easy is it to oil, as it will come a time when it needs to be (if it hasn't failed by then). Also one issue I do see due to the amount of features on it, I guess it has a lot of circuitry on it which can fail. And I would imagine would be annoying to replace
That's a good point! It's inevitable that a fan with more electronics have a greater chance of failing than a fully mechanical fan. We'll have to see how this fan holds up. This motor has ball bearings, so they would have to be replaced rather than oiled when they reach the end of their lifespan.
@@TheSuperFanMan ah did not know that is how ball bearings worked.
Yeah ball bearings can technically be oiled, but they’re more commonly replaced rather than oiled since grease is the ideal lubricant.
I’m a fan I’m a fan I’m a fan….KDot sent me here
Because it is wifi, can it connect to Alexa or Google?
Absolutely! I haven’t tried it myself but the features do state that the fan is compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa. I imagine the pairing process is very similar most other smart home products.
how can i buy it in australia? its pretty damn hot down here
I’m not sure if Dreo sells their products in Australia. I would contact them to check.
Can it cool a 15x15 bedroom
I would say it can! My bedroom is 11x11ft and it has more than enough power to circulate the room’s air. Assuming you’re also measuring in feet, a 15x15 room shouldn’t be an issue for this fan.
anyone knows the wattage of this fan ? cant find any info on it
If I recall correctly, it's consumes about 50 watts at full speed.
Freaky fan symbols @ 1:45, adopted from an interstellar teleportation device like the one they used in the movie Stargate from 1994, strangely though there is no mention of the interstellar panty remover used in the movie.
It may require a secret button sequence to activate that feature that we aren't aware of lol.
@@TheSuperFanMan Good point.
Looks like a Vornado
Thank you for showing the power cord, the brick type plug is why I won’t purchase this fan
No problem! I do agree that it’s an inconvenience, especially in situations where the space around the outlet is limited.
Luckily im in the U.K so it comes with a 3 pin plug no brick form lol.
SO SMART THAT I CAN NOT TURN ON WHEN SOME TEMP IS REACHED :D
The “smart” feature refers to its connectivity to the app and other smart home systems. Most fans don’t have that thermostat feature anyways, because fans don’t actually alter the temperature of a room. You need an air conditioner or heater for that job :D
So let's talk about oscillating fans and air circulators for a minute, they don't lower the temperature of the air they're moving they just move it, so if you're not in the path of that moving air you're not getting ANY of the benefits of it's operation, so what's the point of letting it oscillate around the room into areas you're not sitting in because that's a waste of electricity and will benefit nobody..makes no sense.
That’s true, but:
- the moving air often bounces off nearby walls and ceiling, so the user will still feel the airflow. Some people prefer that sensation over a direct breeze.
- If the fan is being used in conjunction with AC, it’ll help distribute the cool air evenly around the room.
If the fan is way underpowered for the room dimensions, then yes it would be a waste to have it pointing away from the user since there would be no air being bounced back.
@@TheSuperFanMan Funny you should say that, because the idea of using the air conditioner sparingly and using a fan to circulate the cooler air it's produced around the room has gained popularity with me 40 years later, I couldn't get the room cold enough 40 years ago and now I couldn't possibly be comfortable in a room under those conditions...the problem..too many birthdays.
