    • @w.p.8003
      @w.p.8003 5 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      Good ingredients are not cheap! It doesn't have to be 300$ for every bottle but if you want to do more than only hydrate your skin, yes, you're going to have to spend a little more

    • @heatherrs141

      I mean... these celebs are also probably getting $$$ of professional treatments done... so no. Skincare and fabulous skin is not cheap. Yes you can have "good" skin from drugstore, but you can also just be genetically blessed. Such is life.

    • @farahshah8878
      @farahshah8878 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      you are right, that is kinda the point of the channel. Bleh. But it's not just about this channel for me...I see shit like this all over TH-cam. And no, while I am not suggesting buying $1 hand soap will help people get great skin, and help with serious skin issues..what I am saying is we don't really need these high end, extremely expensive products to achieve good skin either.
      I went down the rabbit hole of spending a fuck ton on shit from Sephora, a lot of which isn't effective and definitely wasn't effective for me. I spend less than $100 on skincare every couple months now and all my skincare is in fact drug store. CeraVe and Bioderma products have helped my skin in more ways than any of the more expensive products from Sephora that I tried, and these brands don't really break the bank either which is a win win.
      I understand that it all sounds anecdotal...but it helps that I have an aunt who is one of the top dermatologists in Canada, and she really did help me see how much bullshit info is given by beauty bloggers/celebrities regarding skincare. I noticed that she used Thatcha in this, that is one skincare brands that has been constantly slammed by dermatologists (including my aunt). and including this popular TH-cam dermatologist right here: th-cam.com/video/NNB_5mcTc1Y/w-d-xo.html The skincare products I use on the other hand (CeraVe and Bioderma) are endorsed by dermatologists around the world.
      Y'all do you of course, but I take scientific research, rigorous testing and dermatologists a lot more seriously than I do beauty bloggers. And so far nothing has told me I need to spend hundreds of dollars to get good skin!

    I use the Herbivore Lapis facial oil every night (same ones she uses) and my skin has improved greatly. If you do your research you'll see that lapis face oil was designed for those with acne prone skin/blemishes/redness. Jojoba oil is heaven for any skin type. Herbivore also has two other face oils that are more for moisture. Tired of these celebs saying that oils make you oily and prone to breakouts. It's so misleading for people that are not knowledgeable about skincare.

    So much terrible info in this video
    Makeup wipes in general
    Washing face only at night
    Using a cream and no serum
    Thinking facial oils will break you out
    Misunderstanding chemical v harmful chemicals
    She’s got the money, she should see an esty for a proper skin regime.

    • @whitneysterk3555
      @whitneysterk3555 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TH-cam User skin drs also suggest cetaphil because it doesn’t interfere with what they sell.
      I could not imagine not washing my face after sleeping on pillows. And serums have been the greatest thing for my skin issues. Eye creams couldn’t do what serums have done for my under eyes.
      I used to see a dr for my skin and I just kept having to go back.
      Finally went to school for skin as well as linked up with numerous estys and chemists... I may get 10 pimples a year now.
      But thanks for telling me to do what I’ve done a dozen times before.

    • @whitneysterk3555
      @whitneysterk3555 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TH-cam User not a mall trade school but thanks.
      Dermatologists have been known to not give proper skin care regimes time and time again.
      They couldn’t cure my scalp issues either. It was a chemist that did that.
      But you do you too... I’ll be 80 with great skin.

    • @whitneysterk3555
      @whitneysterk3555 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And this skin regime is trash. Watch Michelle Phan’s, hers is the real deal.
      You aren’t supposed to wash your face to the point of tightness and dryness and avoiding facial oils because you are oily is false. Unless she actually has large pores and oily skin, she’s improperly managing her skin and she’s overproducing oils.
      The fact that she used makeup removers in bad enough.
      Just don’t do what this person does.
      You get one face... take care of it.

    • @whitneysterk3555
      @whitneysterk3555 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TH-cam User ok... you know all. Congrats on being a troll.
      And no, I don’t sound like an idiot. I sound like someone that has studied ingredients. And yes, a chemist... a scientist that works with ingredients and formulations. Congrats on marrying a derm. Probably a lot easier than educating yourself.

    • @whitneysterk3555
      @whitneysterk3555 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TH-cam User pretty sure this conversation began with you disagreeing with my comment. Please, send me your husbands info so I can make an appointment with him to have him tell me to use cetaphil and then try and sell me a 16O moisturizer after the cetaphil does nothing. Keep prescribing acutane for teens so that when they come in for senior photos I can attempt to put makeup on their peeling skin that is still covered in pimples. Also, you should try getting a facial one day too, it may make you less of an asshole

    Make-up wipes are very bad and drying for your skin. Rice polish scratches the delicate surface. Don't pull on your eyes like that, the skin underneath is like gossamer...and don't overload with too many products. Your welcome 😊

    Water is a *chemical*. Oh, how I despise this leftist hipster bs. “Natural” cosmetics are in no way better than conventional skincare and for me - hypersensitive, reactive, rosacea-prone - anything that has essential oils, too many oils in general and, God forbid, alcohol is extremely triggering. “Natural cosmetics” are good for non-demanding consumers, who have no real issues besides some clogged pores, occasional dryness/overproduction of sebum and aging.
