Bobby, a great video! I too have a 7548-7000 1981 that I just bought and want to send to Adrian to service also. Can I ask, did you use a genuine bezel insert and crystal replacement and was Adrian able to supply, or did you go aftermarket (if so which brand)?. Lastly, was it pressure tested for water tightness? Also, there is a guy that does artisan top quality re-luming of vintage watches, if you want to go to that level… his work is really top shelf.

Adrian supplied the crystal and bezel insert, so I can't say whether they were aftermarket or not. That's a question for Adrian. He did say early on that he would make it water tight so I guess that it is. The reason I can't say for sure is that I wouldn't even take any watch into so much as a swimming pool so I never pursued a guarantee of water tightness including how deep it can go. I feel that I'm not being much help to you however I found Adrian extremely helpful in answering all my questions. I'm not too concerned about lume as my days of checking the time in the dark are long gone.

Good video. Always enjoy seeing the vintage Seikos get restored.

Very good. Why didn't you mention the custom stealth mid grey lume on the old Seiko? I'll bet no other kid on your block has that. 😬 Perhaps more videos on your watch collection?

I was told in advance that the lume couldn't be replaced which was fine by me as I haven't needed to check the time in the dark for years. I loaded the lume with a torch and surprisingly it glowed for about 3 minutes. After 41 years, it actually glowed. Unfortunately I don't possess a camera that is able to catch the faint glow from the ancient lume.

@@bobby2292 Well, Seiko are lauded for their lume so I'm not surprised.
