    Dear Djshadowpain,
It nice to see that this video still exists, even if it’s the old version. I’m the young men on the video ! In the meantime I decided to developed a new generation of hot splicing material Under the name Multiface, which allows reducing the process time after preparation to half time. As it is already liquid and achieve the sulfur crosslink at ambient temperature you need only 80 degrees Celsius and 2-3 bars pressure and less time to finalize the job.

In addition, this video shows instruction from 2008. The angle of bias is only 10deg. You can use a larger angle similar to a cold/hot splice for a better splice. As for removing top rubber, you do need some practice to use a skiver, or you can just use the same method as cold splice by stripping it out manually or with a winch (or sometimes with a vice + a lorry or forklift to pull it).

Honestly, we've used them plenty of times and found that they are very easy to use. You do have to get the screws right, not exactly but at least be around the ballpark. Say an 18mm belt, you need the range of 16-18, or even 20 if you have time to grind the excess. to have a smooth bottom.

We have a BS skiving tool which takes only 10 minutes to strip out the top and bottom covers. It carries 3 blades for a depth of 2mm, 4mm and 6,, and ploughs a groove 40mm wide. We are Australias largest supplier of Super screws and this great product is making hot splicing almost non existent as it is a stronger join.

If all those seemed to much work for you to be concerned with (like lets say carry back is not an issue & the side skirting has enough clearance, and you are not using belt cleaners with extraordinary high tensions,) THEN, you can use not bother with the stripping part, screw em right on top.

These videos are misleading. I ordered three (3) of these splices to try on conveyor belts. They show this splice being done in 15-20 minutes. My mechanics could not remove the covers of the conveyor belts manually, as shown, in 2.5 hours. Then when we went to assemble the splice, the screws they sent were too long. I called the dealer, he offered to send new screws, but that won't help with the machine down. I called the manufacture and he claimed my guys were incompetent. Not a good experience

Hi Steven: The super screw is a stone age, we designed and patented PWS mechanical fasteners PWS and they are much easier to install, and less cost than super screw for rubber-fabric conveyor belts repairing. Take a look at this video: th-cam.com/video/MFi1Em2xLBY/w-d-xo.html
Please, make a note that video shows the repairing process in general. For real emergency conditions, as like in mining, it is not necessary to use so many fasteners. BR, David Bunin
