      why is it not recommended to fill a dive bottle ? it stated in this video it takes 10 mins per 1 litre.
      i have a 3 litre so that would be 30 mins fill. as long as the unit is kept cool it should be fine ?

      I have a question regarding the 220/240v model. It says it operates @ 50hertz. Here in America, we operate @60hertz. Most motor appliances do not care. Just wanting to make sure this compressor would be okay with the slightly different frequency. Thank you for your time.

      Wingman115 yes but some people use dive bottles to fill there guns. so is this kit good enough to fill a dive bottle ? not everyone has a buddy bottle gun. Some people use the bottles to top up when out in the field

    Great point about having enough electrical power. If using 117 volts ac, a 15 amp breaker is insufficient based on the power load - be sure to have a 20 amp breaker with no other devices on the line. Also, avoid using a low gauge extension cable that would cause a voltage drop to the compressor - causing overheating. Many thanks for the awesome video!

    Very useful demo and explanation. I have just taken delivery of this model pump (240v) and it's true what they say - a picture is worth a thousand words. Glad to view this before I give the pump its first run. Good emphasis on bleeding the air off before switching off. I look forward to viewing your proposed videos on long-term use including pump maintenance. Many thanks.

    I don't know if anyone mentioned it, but if you keep pressure in the auxiliary tank, say more than 500 lbs, it will help to keep condensation off of the tank.

    Open the moisture and pressure valve before switching on. Then close them after switching on after 30 secs. This gives time for any moisture to be expelled. Open and close the valves in 2 to 3 min intervals to keep expelling the moisture if you do not have a the extra filter system (charcoal, clay/ beads etc... and cotton filters). Someone explained this in another vid hope it helps.

  • @bobwilson5325
    @bobwilson5325 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You need to connect the probe from the thermometer to the small hole in the back of the cylinder head. This will then give you a more accurate reading of the pump temperature. Don't let it get over 65 deg C.

    Great little pump. Thanks for making the effort to post this. I ended up buying a 'clone' version that has a brand name of "Aceeagle". I think the components are pretty similar based on one of the tear down vids I saw of this Yong Heng... but I probably should have got the Yong Heng in the end as in hindsight I don't see too many vids about the Aceeagle.
    My Aceeagle seemed to do the job but I think it's taking a bit longer than it should. It topped up my 4.5l tank from 160bar to a hair under 280bar in about 45 minutes.
    Still WAY less time than it takes to go to the stupid dive shop and get ripped for £35 to get it filled :)
    I used a very big bucket with the garden hose overflowing it and my temps stayed at around 45deg.
    I ordered another inline filter for mine with loads more filter elements..so I will have a second stage filter. It would be great if there was some way to test the purity (dryness and no oil) in the air produced....
    You are spot on about maintenance of these ...but I think the spares for these will be cheap as chips. Given that the con rod is aluminium and has no bearing on the crankshaft I think that could be point of failure but I will keep an eye on it. Also...as the piston starts to wear out, I think the air will start getting contaminated more but hey...you cannot beat the price of these things. Hats off to the inventor of these things!

  • @rickdavid1795
    @rickdavid1795 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can’t beat it price wise.
    The digital thermometer was screwing up on mine and they sent me out another one.
    No problems. So far so good

    I know this is an old video but thought I would add some info. Any of these lighter duty HPA compressors should be switched on with the high pressure bleed valve open unless starting to fill gun or tank from completely empty or close to it and then once running close the high pressure bleed valve and start filling. Nearly everyone I know now filling bottles are using a one way flow valve like in our PCP guns so you can refill a bottle from 2K to 3K and start up with the high pressure bleed valve open. Alot of airgunners I know with these lighter duty compressors with the automatic shut off has had problems with the setting gauge, relay or the electric motor, also when the compressor is just switched off at 3000psi to 4500psi abruptly the stop can be violent compared to a no pressure shut off. No load starts & stops will increase the life of these lighter duty HPA compressors by being much easier on the relay & electric motor that drives the compressor as well as the pump piston and crank when you eliminate abrupt stops & starts under high pressure.

  • @stupidsecuritykeyiforgot7499
    @stupidsecuritykeyiforgot7499 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You are supposed to start the motor with both bleed valves open to prevent the stress on the motor, let it run for a second to warm up, then close the valves to begin filling, if you want to maximize lifespan of the compressor

    Great video. I've been looking at high pressure compressors for a while now. I'm interested in how long this one lasts. I hope you keep very accurate records as far as how long each fill time is, and start and finish air pressures so we can see what kind of loss or wear we can expect over time and use.
    I'd also take that new spare O-ring kit to the local parts store and match up spares now, so you know what you need, unless they included part numbers, which I doubt they did since this is made outside the USA. Keep up the great work.

      wjf213 sound advice however they will offer you to buy spares from them and thats ok cause they are offering us a product at a great price that the U.S. makers take advantage of us on. like shoebox and air vent. So im ok with the China men trying to sell me spare oRings... BUT SOUND ADVICE. match spares up at hardware store and online to see if you can get a easy source for spares. Id advise using really top shelf oil also. no cheap crude for the babygirl. Also its worth to mention that using bottled distilled water could help add longer life to our new sweetheart instead of using hard ol tap water. 99cents a gallon is worth the extra life in my book. Pamper your best girls and they will do you good for alot longer than if you just treat them like common dolls

    You should NEVER fill a SCUBA tank or paintball tank quickly, as the faster you push air into the cylinder the hotter it gets. It will appear that you have the tank full, when in fact, the air is just very hot and therefore expanded and under more pressure, until it cools. As soon as the tank cools you will find that it is only about halfway full. The tank should also be submerged in water while filling so that it will prevent fatigue of the tank due to heat and provides a more complete fill of the tank.

    Good review! I'd be interested in a follow-up video about adding an inline water/oil trap. I'm a paintballer and use these tanks all the time. One thing you simply cannot have is any oil going into the tanks. I used to work at a proshop and draining the compressor there every night would get almost a gallon of water and oil each time. So it makes me a bit twitchy that this kind of compressor has no trap.
    Also, do you air rifle guys use tank covers of any kind? The bottles are epoxy coated to keep the fibers safe but it's always recommended to get a bottle cover to help in case of drops. If the tank gets damage to the epoxy that goes into the fibers, that is, if any of the fibers are damaged at >all< the tank must be decommissioned. Also, there's no safety issues in draining them all the way. :)
    Enjoyed the video! Will look forward to a follow up.

    Hold on, is it 220v or 240v? That is a big difference in houses in the US. Generally, 220v is used oversees and uses a single hot wire and a single neutral running at 50hz. 240v or sometimes in the states referred to as 220v (since a lot of homes are actually 110v instead of 120v) is two legs of the 120v 60hz electricity on opposite phases. You can not run a 220v 50hz device on a US 240v 60hz outlet. Instead you have to get a voltage converter to run a 220v 50hz device on a 120v 60hz outlet.

    One other detail on the cooling water tubing. The discharge/return to bucket hose gets so warm that the tubing can collapse. I bought a short piece of reinforced tubing and it does not distort with hot water going through it. I also secure this hose above the water line in the bucket so I can be certain that the cooling water flow is not disrupted.

    If I were to need to fill several tanks, one after each other, would you recommend running really cold water, like ice water? Another idea i had was instead of running a recirculating water system, I would make an adaptor for my hose so it would use my house water pressure to constantly pump fresh, cold water through the system until i was finished filling my tanks. I have two tanks around 45-50 CI and 3 smaller tanks that fit in the stock of my air rifle that is around 20-25 CI. The larger tanks go in my backpack and has a remote line that can go to any of my airsoft rifles. Thanks for the info in the video. Been thinking of getting one and now I am definitely more interested. It will definitely beat using a hand pump! It would be nice to set it up and record the fill times for all of my tanks so I can hook it up and start a timer, then can do other things while my tank is filling. One thing I might do it build a daisy chain adapter that will allow me to hook up all of my tanks, or at least 3 or 4 at once, then it will fill all of the tanks at the same time. Then you just close the valves ill install on the daisy chain, release the pressure in the line and disconnect the tanks from the system.

    Just got my Yong Heng from Walmart. It arrived 6 days earlier than they said it would. The manual is almost worthless. It says to use a gasket where the air filler hose connects to the pump. Does it mean the metal ring/washer with a rubber insert? When I used that, the fitting got tight before that gasket made contact. It came with 2 of them - am I supposed to use 2? I have seen where some Yong Heng units use a white gasket, but mine didn't come with those.

    I have a similar compressor and the one detail you need to mention is that China power is 50 cycles. USA power is 60 cycles. This unit works fine on 120 volt USA vs. 110 volt 50 cycles but be aware that your motor is running almost 20% faster in USA so your power factor is lower. Because of this I avoid going to 4500 PSI and stop at 4000 PSI if you want the motor to last longer. Just get a bigger SCBA tank and plenty of air available.

  • @mrodjeepers1692
    @mrodjeepers1692 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    These Chinese HPA compressors are going to allow a lot more airgunners to enjoy the shooting without all the pumping. My version is 220volts 50 hz. I cut the end off the cord and wired it into a fused disconnect switch with 10 amp fuses. I added a cord to fit my clothes dryer outlet and good to go. Remember this is 240 volt 60 hz on USA power.
    This means more power 240 volts vs. 220 volts but higher speed on the electric motor at 60 cycles vs. 50 cycles. Be sure to use frozen ice in milk jugs to keep the 5 gallon bucket cool and you can fill a 60 minute SCBA tank in one hour with no overheat issues.
    Great review Wingman. BTW a similar compressor is on Ebay now for $343. and free shipping. My opinion is that this compressor will pay for itself very quickly but the time it takes to set it up it goes much better filling a large tank that will last a while.

    I just tested my Yong Heng air pump, and it draws more than 17 amps while running and over 22 amps when starting! They must have left off a "1" in the manual because it's rated at 1800W, so there's no way it only draws 8 amps. I decided to test it because it kept blowing the breaker on my power strip.

Im looking for a low cost high PSI pump for air liqufication experiments using the linde cycle. most "reputable" pumps and air pressure multipliers are in the many thousands of dollars range. • @osbornephoto1955

      This would never work. The amount of cooling necessary would take something like a motorcycle radiator and a water pump. Even that would probably not be enough for it would still get around 180-200 degrees. This compressor fills fast but that is also why it gets hot fast. There is no way around the heat when you are pushing air at this quantity and PSI. I find by putting ice in the bucket of water works best.

    • @gotindrachenhart
      @gotindrachenhart 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could always get a small radiator of some kind to hook up, maybe an aluminum intercooler or even heater core from a scrap yard or even new if you can find one cheap. Hook it up as a loop then submerge the radiator into a bucket of water. Or heck, go full bore and get a full automotive radiator and a fan. Biggest issue would be hooking it up but I'm sure there are some radiators out there that could be adapted :)

    • @thingsdemystified
      @thingsdemystified 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What do you mean this would never work? Of course it would work. Do you realize how powerful computers are? They're dumping hundreds of watts of energy, especially the overclocked CPUs. This pump uses about 900W, so it should be no problem at all for a computer water cooling system to dissipate that amount of heat. Remember, computer coolers cool the CPU to temperatures much cooler than what this pump can handle. Also, note how much water was in his bucket, and it wasn't even cooled. I have a triple 120mm setup I'm going to test when I get a pump like this. I have no doubt it will be more than enough to cool this pump.
