I have known and listened to this song for at least 35 years. I'll never be able to play it but it's always wonderful to see covers on TH-cam and this one of yours is really well done, thanks and very good!
That is just nuts; I didn't think conventional music notation could ever really "document" what was actually happening. It's one of my favorite solos of Pat's. When I hear it, it's almost as if he is playing in and around the beat, just a super loose feel; it makes me nuts in the best way. I can feel it, but cannot think about it. Great job man!
Great work!. Can you post a link to the lead sheets? Here are few more suggestions if you have time: Are you going with me, Country poem, Sueno con Mexico.
Hey ! Thanks for watching ! I've just made the pdf available in the description of the video. If you've got a Helix, you can also download the preset I used. If you don't ; I'm not using an amp, just a preamp trough a Fender Twin Cab with short stereo delay (around 20ms) to create a chorus effect. I've checked the song you recommended. I don't think I'm going to try Sueno Con Mexico since it seems to be an 8 minute solo but I might try the other 2. Do you know what tuning he's using in Country Poem ? Or is it maybe just E standard ?
Sadly, i didn't make tabs, only the lead sheet you see in the video. For the chords progression in the beginning, it's something close to this : |Eb - Eb - Abadd9/Eb (or Ebsus4) - Abadd9/Eb - Bb/D - Ab/C - Eb - Eb| x2 Good luck !
Brilliant... Bravo!
The impressive voice and ritmics of Naná Vascocelos make the difference . Thanks .
Thank you for covering one of my favorite songs. Great job.
This is fantastic. Great work! And to think that Pat recorded that solo as a first take. Just improvisation off the top of his head in the moment.
