1982 called and wants that table fan back.. Honestly I want the fan, lol. You mentioned museums. Interestingly when I vacation is when I am most likely to visit a railroad museum. There aren't many in my immediate area where I live but one where we vacation every year in Galveston, Tx. And I make it a point to stop there every year at least once. I was going to take a kit or some stuff to weather this past summer but I completely forgot.

The video I wanted and didn't know I needed at the same time. As someone who's looking to go into gigs as a musician, I've been contemplating about the idea of bringing along some N scale trains for when I'm in a hotel room. Now that I saw this, I realized it's not such a weird idea after all. Overall, I'm glad I'm not the only one with this question.

Cool advice on model railroading while traveling to somewhere like on vacation or work.

Traveled for the railroad industry from 1974 till 2010. When driving, took along some cars and used the evenings to do decaling. When flying, took 2 suitcases- one with “my stuff”, the second empty. I found every train store within 50 miles- second case came home full of “trains” - guess that’s why I’ve got more “stash” that’ll never use.

I visit hobby shops every time I go somewhere new. I’m heading to Tennessee next week, and I will visit a few hobby shops.
