- The Milwaukee Brewers went out and traded Aaron Civale.. What does this mean for the other current 5 in the starting rotation? How about those in the injured list? Rhys Hoskins is not going as hoped so for. Do we hope he doesn't electr to pick up his option for 2025? Christian Yelich is an All Star for the first time since 2019.. Didn't think that was ever possible at one point.. We will get to all this on this Fourth of July Weekend edition of "Locked on Brewers"

#Brewers #MilwaukeeBrewers #MLB #Brewcrew - กีฬา
Love me some locked on Brewers.
Hard growing up a brewers fan , but growing up a brewers fan in las vegas Nevada is a whole nother story. My dad is from Milwaukee, grew up watching brewers. 07 Crew was my first year.
Thanks for everything Chuck
Biggest move of the year was getting rid of Counsell..he took his hitting philosophy to Chicago and ruined that team. Murphy has them playing/hitting like the 82 club. Harvey Kuehn let that club play ball and did not over manage them..Murphy is doing the same . Who needs Counsell?
Absolutely. Counsell was hurting this team, and in hindsight it is hilarious the cubs paid him what they did. And that he “set the market for good managers.” Well, he certainly isn’t a good manager!
Cameron Maybin had nothing but high praise for Pat Murphy.
I heard the announcer say that The Rockies hadn't been shut out at Coors Field since 2006. Seems impossible, ironic for sure.
I'm not giving up on Rhys. I'm willing to be patient for what he can bring to the table. We need him to be hot in the post-season.
"Least" Hoskins
This happens to our firstbase guys. So disappointed
Hoskins' former teammates LOVED playing with him. I’ll take their words as gospel over fans or sportswriters.
And then comes up with a grand slam in dodger stadium 2 days later.
The lady sitting behind home plate last night with the radio is me listening to my favorite podcast daily, locked on Brewers!
The elderly gent next to her had his head looking down the entire game. Must have been watching on phone or laptop. Crazy world in Denver!
@@andyevenson6915 I think they both had disabilities. Sight and or hearing impaired, but wanted to be at the game. If that is truly the case I'm happy for them.
@@DavidBrielmaier I've been a baseball fan for 64 years, since I was 5. I was thinking they probably have a lot of history watching games similarly and was special they had really good seats. Someone loves them!
I am more worried about Willy Adamas he just seems to go into these funks I think a young club like this one needs a Veteran like Rhys but he has been a bit underwhelming but still a lot of baseball left hopefully Willy and Rhys will both find their bats again
I don't think they're done yet...
Gotta bring Rhys Hoskins back, he brings the edge to the team and sets the tone. Yeah the numbers are there yet
Could it be that Murph is looking to go with a six man rotation to get thru the 15 games in 16 day stretches, etc. after the all star break? Also try to minimize on late season stress for all the starters...Happy 4th Chuck and you all!
Seriously at last count I believe 14 different starting pitchers so far this season-tops in the major leagues. Too many injuries.
He's 1 for 13 with bases loaded. I'd like to see a bit more than that before I say he's our first baseman for the next 5 years
I would still be looking for another starting pitcher not sold on Dallas Kecuchel sticking around long term and I like Wilson and Hall in the bullpen more than a starter
Remember, Competition is a good thing
Who went down or let go to make room for Civale?
The Brewers absolutely need to make another move for a big pitcher. This cobbled together rotation is cute and all now, but in the playoffs; these guys don’t stand a chance. Unless Civale somehow turns into CC Sabathia circa 2008- his presence as a number 4 or 5 in the rotation will not be enough. The Brewers need serious reinforcements in the form of a number two guy like Flaherty or Fedde. I would even take Lorenzon if he’s available. (Far from a number two, but reliable guy. They should’ve signed him instead of Junis or Sanchez.)
Civale ain’t the answer
Or do they go with a 6 man rotation?
You’re acting as if Philly let Hoskins go because they knew something about his hamstring. Have you heard or Bryce Harper? It had nothing to do with his knee or his hamstring. They simply didn’t need him as Harper had transitioned to a first baseman.
Not sure why folks are concerned about Rhys. He’s always been a power hitter with a fairly low batting average. If you look at his stats, he’s not underperforming versus his own past performance. I’ve always liked Rhys and think the Brewers should hang onto him for one more year. Is Greinke still a free agent? If so, a one year contract should be offered. That would be cool.
If the MilwaukeePitching Lab does its usual job he could rise to the level of a number 3 pitcher. Otherwise a 4 or 5 will do just fine during the regular season.
A bit more on civale???
You got a appointment or something?
chucks too drunk to care
Check out Tuesdays podcast on Civale!!
BREWERS get shafted at all star game 2 for Brewers 7 phillies and 6 for Dodgers Megill and Turang should be all stars
Unpopular opinion- I’d rather keep Bryse in the “rotation” (with a starter) over Keuchel.
Aaron Civale.. Who says he has to be a starter? Pat Murphy knows Civale failed as a starter with Tampa Bay this year. So, the strategy mignt be to have Civale be a multi-inning reliever. This new opportunity might work out better for Civale. It takes an army of arms to get through the season. Then in game one in the playoffs as the #3seed, let's see if Woodruff can be ready. We don't want a big regular season pitcher(Burnes), but terrible in the clutch.
Funny, I harbor the same hope about a "Woodruff Miracle". Couple of starts in September then Play-offs
First off... Happy Independence Day. I hope all Brewer fans appreciate their liberty! God Bless America. Now.... Disappointing to make a rare bold move in free agency and have it bite them. Regardless, I keep Hoskins. For one, we don't have much choice. Secondly, he is a proven big bat having a down year. Two down years in a row isn't impossible, but less likely unless there is a medical issue we don't know about. If they were a middling team, I would choose to develop potential in young rising players. But they are competing at a high level, probably going to carry over next year too. So, I say stick with the proven bat(s) they do have rather than discard them.
From what I hear. Players and fans loved Owen Miller. I guess we should re- sign him and bench Turang
Brewers lead MLB is pitches taken. However, I don't think this is always good. With a runner on 3rd, you MUST SWING AT EVERYTHING CLOSE. Can't have Adames taking called strike 3 (twice) like he usually does. Both times it was clearly a strike.
Bryse Wilson will be leaving the rotation.
Might be a good choice, Bryce was excellent in middle relief, but I think Keuchel needs to show more in his next start.
Wilson is better than Keuchel
We need to get Trevor B
Chuck, can you please stop making all those noises with the saliva in your mouth? Quit moving it around in your mouth into the mic.
