Personally I’ve never really understood why people say that episode 122 is the end of the piccolo arc when 126 seems to be the perfect end point. I mean the arc started with Krillin’s death and by this episode both Krillin and the others are brought back and we even get set up for the next story arc. Anyway glad that your enjoying these and I’m looking really forward to the next arc it’s easily among my favorites!
It is crazy how they had to change the translations just to not piss off a religious audience. When they are referring to "Kami" they are literally calling him "God". Instead of "The Lookout", in Japanese they called it "God's Temple", which is also what they call "heaven".
Kami means God and he is the God of Earth which they replaced with Guardian of the Earth in the dub to avoid offending religious people. Kame means turtle. They are not the same at all. It would be like saying Kane and Khan are the same. They sound similar but have completely different meanings. Whenever Goku says Kami he is actually saying God in Japanese but it wasn't translated for the dub. The same applies to Kame House. "Kame" means turtle so when a character says Kame house they are saying Turtle House in Japanese. Also the dragon isn't alive in the sense that he has a soul and desire. He exists to grant wishes and that is it. Kind of like how a machine exists to fulfil a specific purpose, it has no desire or feelings other than what it was made for.
So basically, you want them to have the Kami dilemma. If that were to have happened, the blonde version would up and ditch to go rob a nearest bank the first chance she gets.
I love Korin's cat-like behavior! Kami left (and trusted) the wish to Goku's friends. ALL of whom have been selfish in the past. Oolong of all people listing the fallen friends to be brought back, and Yamcha thinking that other people who were killed ought to be resurrected as well, which fortunately brought back Nam, and the other fighters for good or ill.
In the comic, I don't even think they got to make a wish. The dragon surprised them all by spontaneously appearing (since the balls were already together as stones) and the dragon told them that he already knows their wish to bring back everyone killed by Piccolo and his followers, and then just did it. Told them that Goku is chilling at Kami's and then took off.
I think I can solve your confusion about Kame House. The word "kame" in Japanese means "turtle". Kame House is named for Roshi the turtle hermit (maybe also the turtle that lives with him). The word "kami" in Japanese means deities, divinities, spirits, mythological, spiritual, or natural phenomena that are venerated in the Shinto religion.

You know what'd make for a fun limited run manga/ comic book?? What all the events we seen happened in DB did go as they did until The Great Dragon revives the victims of King Piccolo's reign but they came back zombified!!??
Just so you know, all of the scenes of baby Piccolo terrorizing humans is filler. At this point in canon, I'm pretty sure he's just training in the mountains or somewhere else remote with no people around. One more time, I'd like to request that you watch the four movies for the original Dragon Ball, or at least Path to Power. Now's the best time to watch them before you go too much further in the show and the next arc starts. All of the movies are non-canon, and all four of the movies for the original Dragon Ball just retell prior arcs with some different events and some different characters, but they're still worth watching if you just want to see more adventures with these characters you've grown to love. None of them are particularly long either, it's basically the equivalent of watching two episodes of the show. The movies are: "Curse of the Blood Rubies" - A retelling of the first search for the Dragon Balls, with a different primary antagonist group in place of the Pilaf Gang. "Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle" - A retelling of Goku and Krillin's search for a pretty girl for Master Roshi, changing it from a quick errand to a bigger adventure that Bulma, Yamcha, and the rest of the gang are also involved in. "Mystical Adventure" - Blends together the first two World Tournaments along with elements of the Red Ribbon Army arc into a single story. It's a bit "weird" as far as Dragon Ball movies go because while it features many characters from the show, a good number of those characters have completely different backstories than their canon counterparts. "Path to Power" - A retelling of the first search for the Dragon Balls and the Red Ribbon Army arc, blending the two arcs into one. This movie was made several years after all of the others, and as such features a noticably different artstyle and more sophisticated animation. It's a very beautiful and fun movie and is something that every Dragon Ball fan should watch at least once. Also, it has Android 8 in it.
Sorry you might of said so before and im just not aware of a response. But when you get to Dragon Ball Z down the road. What version will you watch. Original, Kai, or Abridged? Or will you just leave it up to a community vote when we cross that bridge later.
There is no way anyone should advise someone to watch Abridged before they have seen all of Z. But, you should definitely watch Abridged before Super so Goku's personality change isn't so drastic...

I like your reaction videos and I've been following you for a few years, I hope that when you finish Dragon Ball you watch Dragon Ball Kai instead of DBZ because just like this Dragon Ball anime has a lot of filler and this filler doesn't help the story and creates huge plot holes, like the small detail that Piccolo doesn't eat, he only drinks water, and here we see him eating fish and these filler details create those plot holes.
