The detail of Jax having doll stuffing is actually pretty cool. Instead of only doll-people,such as Ragtha,having stuffing almost everyone might have it. Just adds to the “they’re all caine’s toys” vibe.
It would also fit with the censoring thing. No cursing, no blood.

Man I really like how the fans are exploring Jax's character.
I mean, angst animations are nothing new, but with Jax it hits different because he masks his real emotions so thoroughly. Even in the show you can see he is self aware and calculated, his quirky carefree attitude is clearly a facade or a coping mechanism.
To be fair, I think the appeal of Jax is that he's funny, but also that he clearly acts like he doesn't care about anybody to distance himself from the situation in order to not abstract. But deep down, he's struggling just as much as the others, if not more. And when his facade will eventually break, it's gonna be an emotional episode for sure.
The way I see it, Jax pushes everyone away because he’s afraid to build relationships with them. Going off of this video as well as many other theories, Jax has probably seen people become abstracted firsthand. Some of them might have been close friends of his. If there’s one thing he’s learned from that, it’s that not everyone who enters the Digital Circus lasts very long. At least, not as long as Kinger. Jax would be scarred from this and from that point on, he’d be afraid to care about others. He probably believes that the more you care about someone, the more it hurts when they go. After going through all of this, Jax decided that he would never care again. Or at least, try not to.

I personally think that he uses his jokes and constant bullying in other words to cope- making others feel bad makes yourself feel good-
Though I do think he does care about the others- atleast a little bit- since in the new episode you can see him actually show a little sadness at the mention of Kaufmo’s funeral before pushing it away
I think It would be pretty cool to see him like abstract RANDOMLY alike everyone is fine and then out of nowhere he just starts abstracting. Because he appears as he always does, but no one knows what he’s really feeling and they all assume he’s a-okay
I want to see this as a full series NOW. I want a series to see what jax looks like when no one else is around like alone

that's exactly how i see Jax and i'm so happy to see a video perfectly representing that. it has been proved multiple times that the most calm person in certain situations, is the one who has lost their mind first. but seeing other abstract is more terrifying than being stuck in a game with no memory of your previous life. his 2d self is now everything he has left and it's soo obvious that he's trying super hard to keep his shit together, by still letting out his anger and frustration, not too much at a time by causing (or enjoying) chaos, problems and basically anything negative that happens to the circus
No because he’s the youngest and he’s the most traumatized and it fits so well for some reason.

Great animation, the abstraction bit being a nightmare was a cool idea and got me good. I've always liked the idea that Jax is only sane because he's able to find joy in being a jerk to others, but if he's left alone he'll start to crack faster than everyone else.
WOOOW the animation is amazing the fact that Jax has "two faces" one where he is joking and even a little upset but he is really hurting inside is so wow I loved it, apart from the fact that you put the other characters in the doors, which have already been abstracted, is such an incredible detail, I loved it and the ending where Jax gets corrupted and sees Ragatha and Pomni and just lets out a smile, he feels alone with that smile that he completely gave up on trying to find the exit door, and without a doubt the animation represents it perfectly, I loved it

Actually, this is still the trope you mention. I rather hope to see him suffering the consequences of his actions, I mean to see him being separated by his peers because of his actions and suffering for that.
@@naomi2155 yea, I hope there is some consequence. I hope he grows from it as well so he’s more tolerable. Since social interaction is very needed to not go insane, he’ll have to clean up his act so people talk to him if that makes sense?

That's right, Jax is no girls toy. This video is even better knowing that the voice actor of Jax sung this cover. Also, I could definitely see this happening in a future episode.
If this were to happen in a future episode, it would be very interesting, a good character development. Jax, despite being a very carried away and relaxed guy, hides a lot of pain inside, there is material for a Flashback to the characters' past, especially his.
Amazing animation!! I especially like the bit where Jax intentionally threw the knives around Kaufmo, not hitting him once. Perhaps it goes to show that Jax didn’t want Kaufmo to go through the same thing that he had

The fact that the headset essentially erases your memories upon putting it on and going into the circus makes me wonder if it alters the human's minds in other ways too. For example, maybe it reprogrammed Gangle's mind so that she could only ever feel happy or sad since this fits with the theme of the character avatar she was given. Similarly, Jax may've had his mind reprogrammed to make it so that he feels joy when he messes with other people. This may've happened to Pomni too, her mind reprogrammed to make her obsessed with finding an exit, which fits with the 'foolish jester' theme of her avatar since the circus doesn't have an exit.
I feel like Jax would have depressing thoughts but hide them, mainly because he's the youngest out of the cast (I theorise that he was barely 18 when he got trapped)
I just realised if a baby put on the headset would there just be a baby crawling around the circus-
This animation is so smooth, and just amazing!! I love Jax's character, and sure it's only the pilot but there is no way that someone with this type of personality, in this place, fully aware he can never leave is perfectly fine
Plus, we've seen a few times that his default expression is a giant wide smile, fitting with the character sure but it's his resting face therefore it's not always gonna be a genuine smile
Everyone is so troubled, so it's safe to say that behind in his room the jurk persona drops, he's just scared, and the youngest there so he must of been a teen when he got trapped
And this animation is a perfect way to show how Jax feels, with how little we know, plus there's so much angst of Ragatha and the song "rag dolly" might as well put his song to use as well :)
That is exactly what I think and you brought up a good point about smiling being his resting face, it always seems to default to that so there is no reason why it would indicate actual happiness. What's more is he clearly is putting on some kind of an act. He isn't entirely apathetic, he was genuinely afraid of what happened to Kaufmo as you can tell by how shifty he acted.
I don't believe he is really happy, how could anyone be when they are trapped like that. He's just holding it together my making a joke of everything and venting his frustrations on the others by picking on them and pretending he doesn't care.

I literally love jax angst (dont ask me why, i just like it) so yeah this just became one of my favourite tadc animations so far.
Not gonna lie i hope we’re getting some of jax angst in the actual episodes, and maybe even a character development, it would be cool in my opinion

This is the best fan animation I’ve ever seen of TADC, I really appreciate how you stuck true to how Jax’s facial expressions to be in-character while making it expressive enough to understand his stress and fear. I also love the detail you put of adding the old characters to show that it was in the past before Pomni! Good job I love this so much !!!!!

The reason why jax is always so mean is because he wants to hide his true emotions and he is actually depressed and is on the verge of abstracting and wants to hide it because he doesn't want his friends to feel bad for him and doesn't want pressure on himself

It could honestly be possible in the show for jax to get abstract, there are a few signs that jax really wanted believe there was an exit and tried his hardest, but failed. Jax will be an interesting character to explore

Jax has a lot of Kokichi Ouma energy for me. In which on the surface he’s a trickster but there’s a lot deeper of a character there that’s terrified of his situation. I mean he’s actively running away from Kaufmo in the pilot and seems upset when he’s finally put into the cellar. I’m very curious as to what’s going to happen to him in the future episodes.
Doesn’t help that he’s also purple.
The only difference is that jax is tall asf and kokichi is short LMFAOOO9
