That's mostly because of Nintendo outsourcing they screens from different manufacturers. All these hardware toys be it PC, consoles or handhelds are build from thousand of different parts from different manufacturers... And if a manufacturer cannot supply you or is cheaper producing a a 3DS with a different screen in a different region be it shipping, taxes... Whatever that's mostly where the differences come in same for memory or ram or vram, wifi chip, Bluetooth... The only parts what stay mostly the same are the CPU and GPU chips unless a company releases a different stronger or weaker model in terms of performance (but that's obvious because is a different model). But yeah there can be different parts in your system even if it is the same model, I can have a Nintendo Switch with different parts inside compared to yours Nintendo Switch.
Wonderful comparison guide! I have both, Vita slim and 2ds xl. They're both good systems that do different things well and both of them have their flaws. Not sure if you mentioned it but the Vita OLED has a proprietary charging port while the Slim uses a standard micro USB. P.S. I live in a hurricane area on the Gulf of Mexico coast. My power bank is literally the size of a brick!
I didn't mentioned the cable but the end of the 1000 model cable is still a USB one. Is easy to charge it with a power bank, for the 3DS you need a extra cable for that because at least for the 3DS XL I have the cable is your standard wire one there is no USB end like on the Vita 1000 model. I never experienced a hurricane, this sound terrible and rough I hope you and your friends and family are all fine and alright. Thanks for watching! ❤️
@@Official_RetroMania I've lived in south Louisiana for 30 years and have been through quite a few hurricanes. If you take time to prepare they're nothing to be afraid of! Sometimes we're without power for awhile so you really do need a good battery bank.

Yeah, I own both the original 1000 model of Vita and also the 2000 model. The OLED screen on the 1000 model is definitely the winner. The slightly better battery life isn't worth losing that nice screen. Granted, I still use the 2000 model as my "travel" model that I carry in my bag all the time. The 1000 model stays home safe and sound. :-)
When it comes to the 3ds family, only the new 3ds xl is worth buying now. Some of them have IPS screens that have colours as good as the vita 2000. That being said, a good condition system is atleast 230 dollars or so while you can find a good vita 2000 for 125 dollars. If you can find a good deal on both then I'd say spend the extra money and get both. There's nothing like the 3d on the 3ds and i don't think there ever will be. On the vita side, theres still no emulation device that size with such a sleek design that can play vita games. My favourite feature of the vita has to be the ability to have a literal PSP inside the system along with the whole psp UI. Both are 10/10 handhelds. New 3ds, vita and steam deck together are the best line-up of handhelds you can have
Yeah I like both of them and they are great! I think both of them are unique in they own right and both have unique libraries what should be experienced. I also love my Steam Deck is a great modern handheld if you are in a search for a handheld what can play modern games and some retro one via emulation. I so believe though the Vita and 3DS have a place on the market because there will never be a emulator what perfectly replicates the experience of using such devices. The 3DS 3D display is an experience like nothing else while the PS Vita's back touch screen and gyroscope can also create some amazing unique experiences if used well.
@@Official_RetroMania exactly man i used to be satisfied with my new 3ds and steam deck but I want a vita right now so bad lmao. I was a psp kid growing up and vita is literally the perfect way to re live the nostalgia
Great comparison video, my dude! I'll admit the HD screen of the Vita and sleek nature is sexy as f*ck, but I'm still a Nintendo guy deep down, so 3DS was my go to portable at the time 😅
The Vita doesn't have a 720p HD screen but a 544p well close enough and is a much smaller screen compared the the Nintendo Switch for example what has a 720p HD screen. The 3DS does have the more appealing game library in my opinion but the Vita is not bad. Although you are more of a Nintendo fan, I'm sure the Vita libary would be exactly what you are searching for (knowing your taste). The Vita has a huge library of more obscure, weird, unique Japanese games many JRPG'S, visual novels, puzzle games and games with a lot of FAAAAANNNN SERVICE (if you know what I mean lol).
@@Official_RetroMania Whoops, my bad. The Vita screen looks so crisp in your footage, it might as well be HD 🤣 I did consider getting a Vita once for all the anime style games, but that thought was at the end of the system's life cycle, so most games were sold out then. This is why I love the Switch so much, as the 3rd party support in regards to JRPG's and waifu games are based 🙏

Very good video a lot of good details and jokes. Missed the digital manuals but oh well minor things and most people don't talk about them/care but I think they are cool. The Vita 1000 screen you notice less pixelation. The 2000 plastic agreed I forget when I go and use it. The circle pad I don't mind. The Joycons and Vita analogue stick feel close to a VR Sense controller (didn't like) and it's odd but they do enough. I am unsure why companies can't do better sticks on handhelds. I don't like the power button more on the New 3DS XL it's right on your right hand and it's awkward. Love the jokes and the little details were good of the TP/IPS screens and the games that support C sticks. The 3D effect (when it's stretches not the two screen separation like many games use) it's odd with the intro to it with setup you can see it on YT but in games and such you can't. I don't mind 3D but depends on the game. I don't mind the back touchpad it's feel better than I thought for L2/L3/R2/R3 like sprinting in Borderlands 2 just tap and your constantly going while others like Little Big Planet Vita or Tearaway do use it more gimmicky but I don't mind it even though LBP Vita was good already as it's LBP2 features and more but on the go. It's good for niche Indies and Japanese for sure. Sure no Monster Hunter but Freedom Wars and Soul Sacrifice or even God Wars got the job done. The selection is fair but it's not surprising because it got supported more but depends what people are looking for. Remote Play is nice, the 360p/540p stream choice is nice. 720p can be achieved with the PS Vita TV however for remote Play. It being a model that's kind of a console without the other features. It's interesting but yeah not great for many in the library unless homebrew to make some games accessible. I find the profile side also awkward on it can't swap users as easily I tried but it's stuck with another user. I restarted it, formatted but nope. I'll work it out but oh well. The PS Vita TV has its place but it isn't as exciting as the Vita handheld itself. Also forgot the cables I think or I missed that part. The Vita 1000 has a unique and 2000 has Micro USB The 3DS is great for DSi onwards then 3 different ones for each DS model. So while the Vita 2000 is good for the easily accessible micro USB a DSi/3DS charging cable even if unique/proprietary is still more fair. The cases are interesting for how small. The digital manuals (things people forget about but I think they are really good sure they are PDFs pretty much but they have so much colour and enough languages or details, not always but good enough for when they tell you around about the core to maybe a few other details but not earlier manuals that are thick with information. It's better than Switch and PS4 where it's not very many and most go to the website to view them so that's unfortunate. Then again having animations is cool but no one really bothers, but yeah manuals digitally on Vita/3DS/Wii U are great when you pop the game card in. The UI is pretty alright and the touchscreen is useful more than smartphones to me as they aren't as awkward of multitouch. The web browsers are rough on Wii U, Vita and 3DS so old websites work better than modern ones. The music player/sound app on DSi/3DS is pretty good but only M4A or another format it's pretty limited but the sound quality is pretty alright for what it is, but then again the sound app can be fun for clips while Vita is more accessible for music and video but can't say for the official app to transfer with the content manager as it doesn't work with my 64bit Windows 10 install so I'd have to check with a 32bit Windows 10 or a more suited WinXP-7. But the fan ones do the job even if the navigation with the Content Manager is eh. It's very look at newsy to oldest and it works but isn't great. If still going non-homebrew that is. You can find things but still. Battery life is interesting with more intense games like Borderlands 2 and Minecraft Vita (latest update) they push the system but otherwise they are pretty good at lasting a few hours depending on the 1000 smaller and 2000 longer by an hour. The 3DS I haven't checked as much but it seems to last a fair amount but probably at least for a New 3DS XL anyway as good as a Vita 1000 but I haven't really used it enough for a few hours to tell just on and off. But the 3 he's seems about right. Hmm maybe I need to check again then again I am not using 3D on it ss much but hmm I'll check again. For DS didn't realise it was that good for DS. I wonder for PS1/PSP games then hmm will have to buy some to see how they scale. The Game Gear is cool on 3DS but still for handhelds and NES/SNES it's pretty alright even if the store is gone now. I don't know enough about emulation and homebrew. No idea how N64 runs on PSP if PS1 digital officially or homebrew side. But yeah the Vita has Android ports so it kind of wins there. Price was interesting. I got my Vita 1000 for $200 in 2022 (second hand store), Vita 2000 (second hand store) in 2017 for $130 and $148 for the New 3DS XL in 2020 (EB/GameStop). But that's AUD so each region it will be interesting. But yeah Japanese prices for sure. Still region locking was odd for 3DS as the DS was region free. But glad Sony made systems region free. I think the 1GB was nice on a 2000 Vita but yeah the PSP Go had 16GB internal. I got a 16GB with my 1000 alright inserted so that was lucky probably why it was $200 besides the condition. Not sure what SD card I got with my New 3DS XL alright included but it was about I think a 16GB but not sure with blocks. I usually got a few for $20 or so depending per system. Forgot the largest. Each have their benefits it's hard to tell. I like Vita more but I won't say the 3DS doesn't have it's appeal. The Vita and Wii U got me excited when I first bought them while the 3DS was fine but not as exciting to me. Maybe I need the right games or use of software which I have a few less games for my 3DS at around I think 10 physical while around 15 Vita but the types they are differ. I have some big titles but they don't do it for me as much. As the Vita/Wii U big titles or even the ignored titles I like that many people brush over. Otherwise great video. It is hard to pick one for sure though.
I didn't mentioned the menual that's true but that's also a odd one, because these systems came out right after the transition from physics to digital manuals. So some games got physical manuals, some games only digital. In general I noticed that more 3DS games got physical ones, although 3DS menual are also weird, they are folded like posters and are only 1 big huge page you unfold. Some of my Vita games do have physical manuals for example Final Fantasy X/X2 although is a very boring one just black and white and just text only text no art, at that point just make it digital. The Tokyo Xanadu Japanese collector's edition game I have have both a huge artbook and a manual and the game manual has art itself and a lot of informations and and and... Oh yeah Freedom Wars and Soul Sacrifice was definitely Sony's answer for lack of Monster Hunter, sadly although these titles are amazing, they are not "Monster Hunter" but they sold decently. I wished they had more recognition but well. I only used remote play couple of times when playing PS1 games from my PS3 to my Vita. But nowdays I have all my PS1 roms on my Vita so less hassle. It was a huge hassle take out the PS1 disc, turn on the PS3, connect via wifi both systems, put the disc in, run the software... Then the connection needs to be solid. With me just putting the roms once, I can run the software immediately and directly natively on my Vita much easier. Yes I forgot the cables but I also don't think that's a huge deal in my opinion. If you buy a used system you will most likely get a charger included, if not make your research which one you need. I think one positive the Vita has is that the charger is USB at the end at least for the 1000 model so using a power bank or connecting it to my PC is much easier. Never used my handhelds for music and videos, so I skipped over that but good to know. Maybe one day I will transfer some media files, although that job my phone already does and probably much better. For battery it does make sense that DS software runs longer on 3DS, because the chip isn't running 100% like on 3DS software. You don't use that much power at all... The same effect should technically be for PS1 and PSP games on Vita if run natively and not via emulation. I didn't tested it though and in the end of the video I only compared Vita running Vita software with 3DS running 3DS software otherwise it would be unfair. Nintendo first included a 2GB and later on with the XL model I have 4GB so you should have a 4GB I don't remember them including a big one like 16GB so maybe the previous owner left a bigger one for you. I also think including each small detail like charging cables or digital and physical game manuals would break me and the video. The video was already almost 27 minutes long, I didn't want to stretch it longer, honestly the video could be 1 hour long and I would still have things to say. I still think I did a decent job (I hope I did) compressing the pros and cons of both systems in a under 30 minutes video and I hope you enjoyed it! ❤️
Nothing wrong having preferences. I think both systems are great and both have they pros and cons. I usually switch between them depending on the games I want to play. After I finish Fire Emblem Awakening I will most likely start a Vita game.
@@9090oussama Yeah the Vita is a great system to have, specially in 2023 with all the improvements from the homebrew community. If you didn't homebrew yours I highly recommend doing so, I will probably put some fan made game ports on mine, I would like replay GTA and Bully games and the Vita is a great way to do so portably.
I have both and for me the vita suits me better I only got a 2DS for pokemon, Shin megami tensai and Fire emblem never been a Zelda or mario fan so the vita is better for me with its JRPG library and backwards compatibility with psp and ps1 games plus with soul sacrifice delta and God eater 2 rage burst I was able to get my monster hunter fix on the vita but with more emphasis on story :D
Fair enough. I think both systems are great on they own. Sadly because how unpopular the Vita was, physical games are much more rare for that system and buying them now used in 2023 is very, very expensive (for the most part with some exceptions). My favorite game on the 3DS is I think SMT IV, I love that game sooo much!

What do you mean? There isn't a Twilight Princess game on the 3DS, only on GameCube, Wii and Wii-U. The only Zelda games I have installed on my 3DS are I think Zelda Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
I mentioned that in the video but sadly because the majority of 3DS and 2DS users had only 1 stick, most games were designed around that 1 stick. Only like 20 or 30 games supported the second analog stick.
3DS is much for stable than the Vita agewise Vita is alr failing cuz of old system, and it crash alot cuz of Gpu crash unlike 3ds, the thing is still good (and easier to hack) i'd say for used console, 3ds is better just wanna share this...

@@Official_RetroMania Nintendo included a 2 GB sd card on gameless models, and 4 on those with games.
Subscriber 1000 and Vita Fan 😊
Thanks a lot! ❤️ I will try to do more Vita content if I get a good idea I don't want to force such videos.
I have both consoles and I love them but I must admit I like the PS vita better
Nothing wrong having preferences. I think both systems are great and both have they pros and cons. I usually switch between them depending on the games I want to play. After I finish Fire Emblem Awakening I will most likely start a Vita game.
@@Official_RetroMania I love this ps Vita right now I have one in 2023
@@9090oussama Yeah the Vita is a great system to have, specially in 2023 with all the improvements from the homebrew community. If you didn't homebrew yours I highly recommend doing so, I will probably put some fan made game ports on mine, I would like replay GTA and Bully games and the Vita is a great way to do so portably.
I have both and for me the vita suits me better I only got a 2DS for pokemon, Shin megami tensai and Fire emblem never been a Zelda or mario fan so the vita is better for me with its JRPG library and backwards compatibility with psp and ps1 games plus with
soul sacrifice delta and God eater 2 rage burst I was able to get my monster hunter fix on the vita but with more emphasis on story :D
@@HollowRick i would love to buy fire emblem but in My country is very expensive
I just only have 3ds and recently bought ps vita 1000 and loving to have it.
I always wanted a vita but have a huge 3ds library and can’t be bothered to start a new collection from the beginning.
@@Official_RetroMania yes I have smt apocalypse and loved that barely scratched the surface playing it.
My vita usage is 75% PS4 remoteplay and 20% PSP/x emulation. Don't even frisk about collecting games for it. 🤷
@@guilhermegoldman I’m still buying 3ds n ds games to this day no space for the vita me the 3ds has some great games u shd try it.
Duuuuude yes can't wait to play this one on Steam, although still want to beat Innocent Sin first haha xD
Innocent Sin is a great Persona game sadly people rarely discuss nowdays. Where are you right now in Innocent Sin?
@@Official_RetroMania Ahhh I'll be honest I dropped it at the time as my save data got lost. I think I was just after saving some kids in a burning building?
@@Mrjacharles That sucks, I understand if you don't want to finish it now that you lost all your save files. Maybe just watch the rest of the story/game in video format online.
How is there zelda twilight princess 3d on the 3ds?
What do you mean? There isn't a Twilight Princess game on the 3DS, only on GameCube, Wii and Wii-U. The only Zelda games I have installed on my 3DS are I think Zelda Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
@RetroMania Nah in a quick second while your explaining the difference in 3ds screens there's a quick show of twilight princess 3d on the 3ds screens.
4:01 right there.

Circle Pad Pro gives Old 3DS Models 2nd Stick!
I mentioned that in the video but sadly because the majority of 3DS and 2DS users had only 1 stick, most games were designed around that 1 stick. Only like 20 or 30 games supported the second analog stick.
3DS is much for stable than the Vita agewise
Vita is alr failing cuz of old system, and it crash alot cuz of Gpu crash
unlike 3ds, the thing is still good (and easier to hack)
i'd say for used console, 3ds is better
just wanna share this...
My vita crashes once in a blue moon and only when I'm using adrenaline but tbh I mostly use it for remoteplay while the 3ds gets hours of love each week.
I have an original 2DS and a soul sacrifice ps vita 1000 both great Systems
Yeah both are very amazing! With very different but good libraries and both had a weird but cool gimmick/feature.
GOO VITTTAAA❤❤❤❤❤🎉😅#Favhandheld
Yeah Vita is pretty sweet! I will probably go finish soon Tales of Hearts R and see which game I will play next on it.
Based console wars are cringe
I agree console wars are cringe.
Cringe console love is Based
Jesus loves you!
@@MeajnL08 Thanks a lot! 🙂
Carry vita screen facing inward of course
That literally made me shiver.
Dude's probably has a PB&j sandwich in his other pocket! ☠️
