You must be doing something wrong. Click and quickly release Volume Up, followed by Volume Down, after that long-press the Side Button until the Apple logo is shown on the screen!

Recommend if you actually do have liquid in your phone take a small bit of cotton and poke it into your port gently with a toothpick leaving for 10-30 seconds then removing. Repeat if you can still see liquid. That has saved me before and can be more beneficial than just letting your phone dry out and essentially consume some of the water & all the bacteria while you can potentially remove some easily before anything damages your phone.

It doesn't.... but sometimes this error is generated when using third-party cables and not because there's actual water in the port.... if you dropped your device in water or you're aware that there actually is water in the port, of course you should not override and allow it to dry out.

If the port is actually wet, wait until it dries out and connect your device to the charger. If the standard power outlet won't work try using the USB-C port of a computer.
I did all these steps and after force restart the charger worked fine. But as soon as I removed the charger and plugged it back again it stopped working again! Please tell me i don’t need to force restart every time I need to charge my phone Please help!

oh my God listen I did this exact same thing you did and then I turn on my phone. I turn my phone back on before my lock screen was about to peer. Was your device really in contact with liquids or it’s plagued with the bug that’s triggering the error without any obvious reasons? Have you tried to change the charger?

Was your iPhone in contact with water or any other liquid? In this case don’t press emergency override. Allow your device to dry before charging.

If your device wasn’t near water or any other liquid source you can go for Emergency Override as you’re most likely receiving a false alert.

Try to charge with different chargers. Be patient after you plug it in. It takes a bit of time for charging to start if battery is dead!
