Hi Stephen, Sure am enjoying your videos. I found my first piece yesterday...a BSR Red Mountain Dutch Oven...now to clean her up! I was wondering if you have seen many BSR Red Mountain number fourteen skillets out there...and no. 10's. I was wondering if the factory put many out. I would guess maybe production made more 8's?
I don't see very many large red mountains. 3 5 7 and 8 are the most common. The 4 is the hardest to find after that is the 9, 6, 10, 12 and then the 14.
I bought a old skilled that look like a Logde. the heat ring have a open at 12 o'clock, their is a very large 8 on bottom of skillet, their is a letter c above the heat ring.what brand name skillet is this.
Take any pan that has been wire wheeled and put White vinegar in it and heat it to near boiling for 30 min. That will etch the surface and after cleaning it will season just fine.

Without pictures, it sounds like a single notch Lodge.

Can you do a video on how to properly clean cast iron
Yes, that one is next on my list. Thank you for asking.
I missed the part of the title,,,, “tips for collecting”
Good video
OMG mostly clueless...seriously? the letters rusted off?
Yes, I have seen quite a few that have set in a damp environment and the whole bottom was rusted away along with the lettering.
