If the fuse is blown, I assume the multimeter won't beep? Does it do anything else in that situation, like displaying something on the LCD screen?

If a fuse is blown , then there wont be any readings. The multimeter will show OL or similar message indicating open line. The actual message ma depend on you multimeter. soma may show OL some may show just 1.

If you are checking it in the resistance range, it should show very low resistance, close to 0 ohms.

Does the fuse have to be disconected from it's curcuit to test? Stereo Receiver for example

No, I just tested some plugged in ones on an oven and it still tested just fine.

Check the resistance. It should as close to be zero.

It means your fuse is blown and you have to get a new one

Hi! when your fuse is not functioning take it to your nearest hardware shop and ask them to repair it, JK its obvious that if a fuse does not work, you replace it
