Absolute athlete 💪 well in Nick, I can see how hard you at working and it’s just great to see. I will be coming down from Yorkshire in early January to have Blast round here - thank you for making these videos , great inspiration 👊
2 things: 1. Your championing of other runners, Parkrun, etc. always comes across so genuine and infectious. Love it. 2. Whilst Tom displayed insane camera work there and made a very, very good video, DUDE who and on what were the halfway and finish segments filmed? Need more of that to pepper in, production looked great!
My favorite running channel to watch! Love the commentary as always. Also, shoutout to Tom! Takes skill to bob and weave like that while recording. lol!
Never been to Battersea park but I think I've watched enough of your videos to get a sense of what is there. Nice work Nick, I always love hearing your narratives as you do these races. I know during some of my 5ks I think how you were feeling at the same point and it helps pull me out of the tougher parts. Love watching your race recaps.
Lovely to hear it helps you and yes you must definitely come make a trip to Battersea sometime. You could probably do laps blindfolded if you’ve watched my vids 🙌🏻
I just love Battersea park! During my hitchhiking time 15 years ago I used to sleep under the peace pagoda (you know where you kind of need to climb about 3m) and meditate by the two fountains.🧘♂️💦 You have a crazy high pace, my lungs are burning just watching you. And those last 2k of a 5k are just mean, no matter if you run a sub3 pace as an expert or a sub5 pace as a beginner.
Didn't know your channel until I saw you filming on Saturday - that's me in the background at 14:23 while you're interviewing the young lad 😅. Will check out more of your videos!
Damn, people are so amazing! Young guys are sprinting 17-18 minutes and look effortlessly! Meanwile I can't keep that pace for 400 m at full sprint, fighting for my life )
Hey nick! I was just watching your hill rep and tempo session when i saw you mention comrades! Im doing it for the first time next year, as i will be 20, and my mothers side grew up in joberg so its a big family event for us. But i was just wondering if there are any tips you could give me? Anything from training, to meals to race day prep etc. Ive ran a few marathons this year, took a break to recover and have just picked up training for comrades. Any tips at all id be so grateful for, thanks!
Hey Nick, unrelated to the video but with ladder intervals, how long do you recover for the rests between different distances such as in your most recent intervals video? Love your content, cheers!
@@justalilbesterso just to clarify with this session, would you rest 75 seconds between rep 2 and 3, as well as 4 and 5, as well as 6 and 7 and so on? 2x1,000m (90s rec) 2:58|2:57 2x800m (90s rec) 2:20|2:21 2x600m (75s rec) 1:43|1:43 2x400m (60s rec) 66|65 2x200m (45s rec) 30|30 Sorry to be a bit of a pain but this is a question that has been nudging me for a while! Appreciate all the work you do Nick.❤
You should come up north and give Widnes parkrun a go. It’s not quite as competitive as Battersea likely is usually but it’s a very fast course and does often attract very fast runners. I’ve seen low 15’s be a winning time there when I’ve went previously
Well done mate. Hard to get the heart rate up after those daycare bugs get at you! 😆 That's me in the white t shirt at 1:10, no chance of hanging with your pace just yet 🤣
I have to try not to go ahead you can pick up some real speed on the blades 🤘😁 The skating really helped when I started running it translated really well
I raced a 5k at the weekend when the pain and demons kick do you question if your gonna blow up and if so do you just take the chance and bank on it being your mind I feel like I caved mentally in km 3 in particular because my 4th km was faster by over 5 seconds but the fear of not finishing got me
Yea i know its parkrun and not to stress about people going in the way. But cmon if this dog wasnt on leash he would bite you and probably ruin your run. What with those ppl.
Crown my run mentioned you were here in their video. And so I was waiting for this video. Good work
The youtube greats meet.
Great to see more people discovering ‘crown my run’. The mills crew really are ace!
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll definitely go check it out
Crown my run and Nick Bester collab would be the stuff of dreams 👀

Tom is really skilled on blades. Great running once again. Thanks to all the volunteers.
What an effort - love your videos. Got me back into run training with a purpose. Hill training last night and loving (almost) every minute of it.
Great to hear!! Build that base 🧱 for an epic year to come!

Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed it. That was Conall Whelan. I’ll let him know 🙌🏻
I am so much enjoying to watch your parkrun. Filming, narrative, sky rocket heart rate its great.

Amazing stuff - well done! I absolutely love being lapped by guys like you. Looking forward to doing Battersea parkrun in January!
Love to hear it! In it together 🫶🏻 I’ll have to come try crack sub 15 there in the new year!
“Just Parkrun”. Yeah, right. 🤣
my favorite content to watch on youtube, well done nick
Some shorter distance races coming up 🙌🏻 If my quad holds up okay. 🤞🏻
I love this type of video. Makes me feel like I’m there at a time when I’m between races and just grinding out boring base-building miles
Fair play Nick and great attitude to the other runners with championing their achievements and promoting the inclusivity of parkrun
Great effort and thanks for including me in the video! Keep up the good work 👍
Pleasure mate and well done once again 👏🏻 see you at the next one!!
@@justalilbester 👍
Loved the congratulations of your fellow runners at the end
Always. Burns us all just as much 🏃♀️🏃♂️
How someone can skate a parkrun i don't know. What skills. Well done on a very good time after illness. 🎉
It's so much fun
Well done Champ, back on 'your' home ground!
Kudos to Tom.
See you tomorrow! 💙🎅🤍
Had to come test it out 💙🤍 thanks champ and see you laters 🎉
Man you are the champ of the year Nick and you came first well done. congrates. Inga Dk.

Well spotted and hope you had a good one 🙌🏻
Now this is proper filming right here! Considerate all the way
Have to be with over 1,000 runners. It’s for everyone and Thom did an amazing job 👏🏻
@ you too! Hyped me up to run for sure this morning
Props cameraman flying through the field! Hope the skates were carbon plated as well! 🤟🛼
Great run, best attitude. Thanks
Great video! Congrats on the W!
Really good job. I enjoyed it.

Nick you make it look so easy! Beast
That 14 year old lad casually running an 18 min 5k...
Starting young and staying ahead of the pack 🏃♂️ 🔥
Nick you’re the definition of leading by example my friend
Top Work, Nick 👍
Look forward to seeing you g you on the masters circuit as an M35!
Good stuff Nick!
😂 If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball… loved the reference!
Well done - great run!! Also omg he did that on roller blades 😂😂😂
i was thinking, thought he was on a skateboard but that would be crazy😅
Great running! It would be interesting to see you run Great Yarmouth North Beach. You could be the first to go sub-20 on there 👍
Massive inspiration!

Epic stuff!! Nothing quite like it. Get those good ‘time on the legs’ runs and loads of hills/elevation!
@justalilbester thankyou!
boomshakalaka nick, id love to come to UK one day and see Battersea parkrun! im from aus by the way
Hope to see you at Victoria Parkrun in Belfast, home of the fastest ever male and female parkruns.
Oooof sounds tempting! I’ll have to make a trip there 🔥
Great Stuff Nick! Will you be running chase the moon battersea tomorrow?
Yes indeed. (Unless my quad takes a turn for the worse) 🤞🏻 see you there
Hey that was a heck load of BOOMSHAKALAKA you packed into this run! BOOMSHAKALAKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha love it! 💙 I can hear that from here!!
Tom did absolutely incredible!
Did you prefer a race field or parkrun better at Battersea?
That’s a good question. Depends what race. Obviously races like podium are a lot quicker, as you won’t lap people.
I thought I only would like seeing a good looking woman in blue and white leopard BUT Nick does it again and rocks the heck out of it.
🐆 💙🤍
Hey Nick, unrelated to the video but with ladder intervals, how long do you recover for the rests between different distances such as in your most recent intervals video? Love your content, cheers!
For that one 60 sec (was meant to be 75 sec though). It’s all on my Strava 🙌🏻
@@justalilbesterso just to clarify with this session, would you rest 75 seconds between rep 2 and 3, as well as 4 and 5, as well as 6 and 7 and so on?
2x1,000m (90s rec) 2:58|2:57
2x800m (90s rec) 2:20|2:21

@ you’re very welcome. Great vid btw! 😃
While your up there do clumber park...or a fast long eaton👍
Rollerblading on wet streets is terrifying !
He does have skillz 🤙🏻 thankfully it wasn’t too wet. But he did an amazing job :)

Haha I love the part just yet! Maybe we’ll be pacing each other one day! Keep it up and well spotted 👏🏻
Your videos are soo good in all sorts of ways, but could I ask whether you do much core work?
Yes almost every day. Just little bits. But they all add up. I’ll film my ‘daily routine’ again soon with a voice over so you can follow along 🙌🏻
What app do you use to produce the overlays like speed and HR? THANK YOU!
Pleasure 🙌🏻 Insta 360 GO3S, then when you sync the data you can connect your Garmin, Coros or Apple Watch for the metrics
@justalilbester thank you so much. ✌🏼
KEEP LEFT! Don’t people in the UK keep left? There were groups spread right across the road. Good video, thanks.
Majority of people do. But some forget, which kills your momentum 😵💫 but at the of the day. It’s parkrun, not a race. So I don’t get frustrated
Interested to know how fast Tom can skate a 5km and if his skating fitness translates to running as well?
I have to try not to go ahead you can pick up some real speed on the blades 🤘😁
The skating really helped when I started running it translated really well
A lot quicker than I’ll run a 5k. I think he’s about a 2:55 marathoner 👌🏻
Great running Nick, I'd say if you were bed bound last week, that was a great time 👍
Well said mate, so can’t be too upset with that time. It’s been a rough winter for me so far 🤒 hopefully healthy days ahead.
Good run!
Please hide the times on your stats, I love the building tension all the way to the end :D
Nice video. How did you get those rankings?
Those rankings at the end are on the ‘Fast running’ website 🙌🏻
I raced a 5k at the weekend when the pain and demons kick do you question if your gonna blow up and if so do you just take the chance and bank on it being your mind I feel like I caved mentally in km 3 in particular because my 4th km was faster by over 5 seconds but the fear of not finishing got me
Never clicked a video so fast
Nick Bester is too damn quick!
Great video but preferred the bike perspective a lot
unreal mate
That was super good well done!! You definitely lost a few seconds on the last km.
For sure, but I know that was going to happen. Still wouldn’t have been enough for me to go sub 15, but we’ll get back into that shape soon 🙌🏻
Is there no keep left rule?
I think there is but when it’s busy like this, it’s quite hard to manage
How is 162 your zone 5?
Naturally I have quite a low HR, my resting is usually 36
A lot of traffic to navigate in the last Km
machine
Adidas Adizero Pro EVO?
That was my sub 2:20 shoe 🔥🙌🏻
@@justalilbester But did you use it here or was it the Adios Pro 4?
Just a casual parkrun :D
I run while playing your video
I put my phone in front of trademill to motivate myself
Multitasking!! The best way 💪🏻
Crazy run but it was so busy tho
Always busy, great to see so many runners out 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️ and this was one of the quieter weeks
Hi nick
I notice that you like to Run in the park instead of road😂
Nice clean run, ull get there brother. Nick sub 220 bester legendary
Love it!!!

Why? 😂
@@jjames1949 matt choi got banned for filming at the marathon, its a joke
🤣 🎣 nearly for me there mate 😉
Imagine going 13 seconds faster per kilometer for a full marathon.
