Hi. Nice video. I recently got my self an L6. I'm just building an electrical box to move the controls up to an easier position for me. Do you have no way of revercing the spindle? Mine has a forward/reverce switch for the motor. Yours dose not
Nnice work! Did you happen to replace any of your zerk fittings? I have an L6 in the US, and my zerks appear to be a 1/4-20 thread and I haven't been able to find replacements.
How did you remove the shaft that holds the clutch and brake . I have mine stripped down to remove the sahft that is held by the bearings in the casing , If i remove the clutch side bearing i think i can reve the shaft that has a broken pin . but cant see how to get the bearing out ???
Hello James thanks for subscribing! I have got some more content in the pipeline coming soon, been without a workshop for over a year! The switches were just on / off switch boxes of Amazon rear flush mounted connected to 2 16amp contactors one to run the lathe motor and one to run the coolant pump!
Rather funny, I skipped ahead and it landed on a part where you say " obviously, if you don't need a big machine like this, don't go out and buy one". But iv just done exactly that.... except its a 40 inch version..
Not exactly sure which model I have, but I am learning to work with a Harrison lathe. We ended up having to use a propane torch to bust a frozen gear loose in the front gear box.
I've no idea which mine is ... it's very similar to the one in this video in that it has the motor in the base and not hanging off the back ... but mine has a different design of headstock cover .... and I think the bed isn't quite as wide. It also has a L00 taper which is different to any other I've seen - it's a real 'bitsa' !
Great Job. well done..
You said you have extra drill bits from your L6 harrison. I have 21 engine .

cracking job, where did you get your start / stop buttons?
Are they separate or is there a switch hidden behind the plate .

great job. I am just about to tackle my L5, which I have had for years. its in pretty good shape but is pretty rough cosmetic condition.
Thanks for the comment! Really appreciate positive feedback! Don’t forget to check out my other videos!

Can you give me outside dimensions of the L6 ?
Are you single-speed on the motor? I can't see a changeover switch 🤔
Yes it's all single phase , someone before me put a single phase motor on it
Hi I have a L 6 3ph with a 2 speed motor 2000rpm. Down side is she done a lot hard work. But for 300 quid is a second lathe
