@@willyc.8141 Glad you found Ride. I too am a huge Oasis fan. Back in February of '94 I went to see them at Numbers in Houston right around the time when Definitely Maybe dropped. I was drawing a comic strip for the local newspaper at the time, and drew Oasis into that weeks story. Robbo, their manager loved it, and my brother and I were able to get in and hang with the group before the show. As it turned out, their drummer, Tony needed to go get a Valentine's card for his girlfriend. So we took him to a Walgreens drug store that was down the street a few blocks. Well, there was a popular record store right next to the Walgreens, and Tony wanted to go in there too. There were Oasis posters and CD's covering the walls of this place. My brother and I were getting nervous because people were starting to stare at Tony. Tony was ignoring everything and focused on looking at Nancy Sinatra CD's (I have no idea why). It was also getting close to show time. We hurried him up and got him back to Numbers without too many issues, but Robbo and the rest of the band were not happy. Noel and Liam were fun to hang out with. There was no real rivalry between them like was reported. They were just brothers that liked to give each other a hard time. Anyway, My brother and I got in early and had front row center stage for the show. I got the band to sign my Definitely Maybe CD and a copy of my cartoon. I still have both. Tony was replaced before the group recorded another album, so that collection of Oasis signatures are rare to find. That still ranks among my favorite concerts ever. You should also give the Stoned Roses a listen. Those guys were great too.
@@thestatuary8752 thanks a lot for your comment, I love Oasis fans stories, especially from 90s❤️ I'm just 22 so I couldn't see Oasis back then...yes I know Oasis were inspired by Stone Roses, The Smiths and of course Beatles😍
It actually cheapens the song, reduces the brilliance of the song. 'Man Tears' sounds like some corporate bullshit, like it's being gussied up so it can be used in a fucking Gillette commercial or something.
I just realized how incredible the drummer was holding back not using too many symbols as the guitars are chiming and shimmering enough He's just brilliant
Perfect drum sound. Gets those ghost notes then... Oomf. This sound engineer/producer deserves a medal. Most can't capture ghost notes in loud music. Fact
When/If anyone asks me about getting into Ride, I always say start with “Nowhere”...it showcases everything great about this band. I love their earlier e.p. Releases and albums post-Nowhere, but it’s the best place to grasp their sound.
First week of being 30 years old. First NA meeting. First dude who started a conversation with me asked if I wanted to take a ride with him to another meeting. He played this album and I new after the first song that my life was never going to be the same.
Such a beautiful underappreciated piece: my favourite of the album. It's overshadowed by Dreams Burn Down and Vapour Trail, which are excellent as well.
Blowing bubbles, lying down Waiting for the rain to fall Laughing at the people Wonder why they always rush, never slow down And we're smiling, when we're sleeping And we're smiling, when we're waking Even if the rain falls down, and all the sky turns cold I will feel fine Thunder roared and lightning flashed But you and I are in a different time Floating in and out of time In and out of space No-one can touch us We're in a different place

Seeing them in Oxford 1990 and hearing this again in 2023 sounds just the same!
im sooo jealous..😊
adding this to the man tears playlist
lol. love the name of your playlist hahahaha

Why not replace the "R.N H" with a neutral C

Andy Bell wrote most of this song when he was just 14 or 15 years old. 3 years before he even formed Ride.
Wow!Is that true?If it is many thanks for letting us all know.It is such a fantastic album.
Smiling!
That's interesting and uplifting
Makes sense to why it was such an EPIC song, and band
More people need to know about ride because this song is perfect. ☺️🤘🏻

From, IMHO, their perfect album!
Have you heard the acoustic version on the KEXP channel? Absolutely beautiful.
What an epic song.I really wish music would return to masterpieces like this.
There's plenty out there.
Everything up to the early 2000s was great. Some wonderful albums
My favorite Ride song hands down.

After decades of loving Ride, it's still the crisp drum sound that gets me every time. The drums in this song are transcendent.
Absolutely, as a bad amateur drummer myself I have always loved the time on this album.
I want this to be the last thing I hear/think of before I die.

Did this song really come out in 1990 ?
It sounds like it came out in 1967.
That’s because of the space rock elements.
