OMG. I wanna say the same thing.. She is a little bundle of cutie pie. I've been pondering my future, learning recently after 30 years with someone, how to kinda start on my own again. I have my cats & work for a lady who does cat rescue. Im kinda her pet helper, caregiver when she travels for her over 41 cats. I always wanted to try the R.V. full time living. I have had R.V' s back in my younger days, basically for vacation use & my husband usually took care of all the things I see you doing. I adore your sweet personality and yes, " can you get any sweeter". Omgoodness, you are adorable. What caught my attention most after I first realized im living in basically a one bedroom, that basically holds everything i took from my 3 bedroom home and jammed into this now 1 bedroom space, is watching ur video, not only made me realize, I would have plenty of living space for all the cats items and my own, but it also took me back in time, when I would daydream in my RVs of different ways I could rearrange things to suit my needs better, kinda, if I ever had to live in a RV by myself, how I would prefer it to be set up. Well then you explained "just that" as you gave us a tour. Well at the end, you pulled me closer in, when you said, how you wanted to make more videos for single ladies, not to be intimidated by this heavy equipment, and when you said, the magic words, it was hard to find places to get info on what you needed to learn. I was sold. So yes, I would enjoy hearing ALL about how you started out, the ups & downs, how you became more confident with everything from leveling the rv, to filling tanks & emptying them. How is it driving & pulling one, did you just take off one day, all alone & just learned as you went. What would you recommend for future single ladies with cats and more. I can honestly say, seeing your bright, cheerful smile & how comfortable you are with the entire RV lifestyle, would be something I truly would love to do. The cool part is, im in my early 50's now starting over, pretty much from scratch & seeing you so young, free spirited has me thinking so much since I finished viewing your video Oh. And if she at her young age can do this, maybe there is hope on the horizon for me too. I suppose I just need to learn how...Sorry wrote so much, but the way I see it, I have only nice things to say, and a willing to learn from your experiences. Wow. Please forgive me as I wasn’t looking at comments with new responses until just now!!!! I am SO GLAD this tour has shown you that you can handle this kind of space with you and your kitties! I hope you’re still feeling inspired about this lifestyle because you can truly do this. Yes, it’s a lot to learn BUT it’s a lot less intimidating that I thought it was going to be. You just have to START! Since this video has gone up, I’ve been posting videos on leveling, disconnecting, and more about how I do it alone. I hope those have been helping! As for pulling/driving, I’m VERY lucky to have come from a family of semi-truck drivers, so I got some amazing lessons from them on how to handle this. The most helpful thing I find is making sure to have towing mirrors: the kind that have 2 mirrors on each side: one that points up to show you people in the lane next to you, and one that points down to show where your trailer is in your line. I often times get nervous and feel like I’m SO wide and not sure if I’m in my lane. With a quick flick of my eyes to each mirror I’m easily reassured that yes I am in my lane - or I see that I’m not and adjust myself.
You’ve made your trailer into a home. So pretty. I have 6 cats (and 4 dogs). We spent 3 years living full time in an RV but live in a home now. However, we are leaving tomorrow for a few months in the RV again. I love seeing others traveling with their pets and making it work. You have beautiful fur babies.
Would like to know how it was with your pac as I also have 4 dogs and 6 cats. Lost my 18 year old cat in Dec. dose are small with the exception of my 95 lb. German Shepard. Would love to hear about your experience.
@@dawnmarkey2194 my largest dog is 86 lbs, though he was almost 100 lbs when we left. The big dog is fine with the cats but the smaller dogs don’t care for them. My dogs weren’t raised with cats. So we tow a cargo trailer that we converted for the cats behind my SUV and my husband tows a fifth wheel for us and the dogs. The big dog and the cats travel in my car and the three smaller dogs travel in the truck.
Beautiful and functional and pet-friendly! THANK YOU so much for going over the bathroom section thoroughly. So many camper vids overlook this aspect and it's a major concern and point of interest for those of us contemplating this lifestyle. I love how you love your kitties!
Well done Ellen. I wish you well with your channel and I am so happy to see you showing the girls that caravanning is not an exclusive men's club. I always taught my daughters that they can do anything if they set their mind to it, and from experience girls can often do it better because they do not charge in like a bull in a china shop. And for the record, I have employed girls to do what were supposed to be blokes jobs in the past and never been disappointed.
For those who aren't ready to install a bidet in their RV or van, there is a product out now called toilet paper spray that accomplishes much of what a bidet can do for you (only it leaves a "fresh scent" and I don't like to be reminded of what just transpired). Any spray bottle that mists and is filled with water would work. Just spray the toilet paper and use. The place you parked is beautiful. When I think RV park my mind sees RV's packed in like sardines and occupied by either retired couples or characters from Trailer Park Boys. If you have found the secret of finding peaceful (and hopefully affordable) RV spots that is something that would make a nice episode for your channel. I only have 1 cat and plan on van life to escape civilization, but "the secret" to a peaceful parking spot close to civilization could be useful.

Lovely video, you 15yr old cat looks like a youngster!! I would love a bidet, they are not really a thing here in the Uk, only very posh houses mostly have them and for many homes there just isn't the space for one but yours is a really good option rather than have a separate bidet bowl.

Not sure if you've used your wood stove already or not. But it's very important (according to girl in the woods and hubby) to use it for the first time outside your RV or home. The paint or coating on all of them is toxic, smells bad and once you use it for the first time, that burns off and you shouldn't have any problem after that. This includes the chimney as well.

@Boldly She Roams, I’m so excited to find your channel. I am a single female (older than you) and I travel in my truck and 20ft travel trailer (EPro 19BH). My travel companions are my 2 dogs and 2 cats. I have a home base, as I have a full time job that requires I show my face in the office 3days a week (Bummer!!). This means my travel is periodic, vacation time travel, but I really seek to cover as much territory as possible. I love your mods, and I especially relate to your love of popcorn (I’ve grown my own in my small backyard garden for years!). I an also say that replacing my RV toilet with my homemade diversion toilet has been one of my most favorite mods (I’m sticking with tp, though, as a bidet still uses precious water). This is your first video and the first I’ve watched, so it is likely I’ll binge through those you’ve posted since. I’m looking forward to sharing your adventure vicariously.😁😁

Ok hope you read this, it’s important! Your wood heater needs some changes before it gets turned on. It’s a fire hazard from what I can see lol.. 1. Under and around the heater itself needs to be tiled so it doesn’t catch fire. 2. The curtains behind the heater/flue need to be removed they will catch fire. 3. The area travelling behind the flue all the way up to the ceiling needs to have a protective layer also, like a sheet of aluminium or thin steel or tile to keep the heat from setting fire to your wall. The flue is set to close to the wall.
Thank you so much! I know it doesn’t look like it but I promise the sheet metal below, behind, and on the side are all sheet metal with the proper thickness per the manufacturer requirements. The sheet metal behind and on the side have a 1 inch air gap to allow for air flow. Where my sheet metal ends, a double insulated pipe begins and that pipe only needs 2 inches of clearance to combustibles. For sure though whenever the stove is on that curtain will be nowhere near that piping! I can’t tell you how many emails I sent back and forth to the manufacturer to make sure I was correctly installing this thing, but again I very much appreciate you taking the time to make sure I have installed it right because a lot of people do not!! ❤️❤️❤️

Glad to see the RV works for your little family, but I hope it's okay to ask since I've never (and probably never will) lived an adventurous RV life like yours: did you ever have a situation where your pawkids wandered outside the RV and sorta got lost somewhere? If yes how did you find them back or maybe prevent it from happening again?

I’m looking to get a tracker for them, but I’d probably just get one for Jojo. I’ve put her in a mesh tent outside once or twice and loves it. So she seems to be willing to explore outside when my boys couldn’t care less

Yeah I think putting a tracker is better as cats are different from dogs, they can climb and hide in tiny spaces and therefore the chance of them going missing is I think higher. Great video! I have been researching this lifestyle for years and got my RV in June 2021. Been doing some work on it and taking small trips....was hoping to already be retired but not yet. YESSS!!! You can do so it!!! Also doing this when their a kitten is the best because they adapt so much quicker than older cats. It took 1 single car ride for Jojo to be used to it and now she sleeps on my lap or right next to me when we drive
Loved watching your home tour & the introduction to your companions. You presented this very well, describing each area of your living space. The best thing IMO was the ambient lighting in your sleeping quarters--I suddenly imagined how lovely it must be in the evening/nights to be reading in bed, or listening to podcasts with your 3 friends. Also, that wood stove is going to be excellent!! You can boil water on top, enjoy the fire via the window plus heat or even over-heat your living space...you are in MI right? It should be amazing in the winter. Happy to follow a woman who decided to break free as you have done. Best of luck & can't wait to see more content.

Great looking home, and good luck on your adventures! I want to caution you that the real danger that exists with the woodstove is that in a small closed up space like an RV it will burn up all the oxygen creating a lethal situation. There are plenty of CO and propane monitors available, but trying to find a suitable low oxygen monitor is a bit more complicated which makes low oxygen the more dangerous condition. Do your research and find a satisfactory way to introduce adequate combustion air into the camper.
Thank you so much for this info! You can’t see it in this video, but I do have a direct air intake so oxygen from outside the camper is feeding the fire thus not stealing all my precious oxygen! But it is always best to be careful so I’ll surely look up that product!
@@boldlysheroams If you've got outside air coming in you should be good to go, I think that there is a formula floating around out there that would tell you if you have enough air coming in. Low oxygen conditions don't seem to be a concern until people start modifying their rigs, or doing custom builds.

I like seeing content from solo females also. I have a 24 foot class c that I upgraded to from a 14 foot AR One travel trailer. I like the extra room a lot and it isn't much longer than most bigger vans. I got tired of hitching and unhitching too. So nice to have found your channel. I would love to convert or add solar to my rig so I don't have to use the generator when boon docking.

I couldn’t imagine being in an RV with three cats. You really must like cats. It’s the cat box that give me problems. My son‘s got two cats, but they go outside. Love the woodstove. Looks like it is installed securely. Cute home young lady. My husband died five years ago., since then all five of our dogs and our two cats. That’s when I decided no more cats. But I just bought a 1989 Toyota dolphin. I’m nervous and I’ve must change some things that I can deal with it. I’m older and I wear a leg brace. I do have a dog a little Morkie named Bella. It turns out Ware. It’s too hard for me. I can always sell it. But I’m looking forward to doing the interior because I’m an artist fabric artist, and it’s gonna be a bark cloth heaven. I’ve been collecting bark cloth and new old stock bark cloth era fabrics for over a decade. Maybe I’m looking forward to decorating it more than going out in it. But that’s just nerves.
Oh man the inside of your RV is going to be so cool! Are you going to do anything special for your puppies in there? Clearly I’m a crazy cat lady and did a few things just for my cats in mine 🙂 Normal clay cat litter is AWFUL. I use wood pellets and I will never, ever go back. I don’t have that typical cat litter stink that owners who use clay litter have. Mine just smells like wood and sawdust!

Ellen 1) where did you get your popcorn kettle and what material is the lid made of? My mother had a huge soup kettle like it. 2) the link to the cat water fountain diverts to the cat tree. I'm interested in the fountain. 3) your cats are the cutest. Do they get carsick? How about an episode on traveling with cats, how to keep them safe from escape, getting them enough indoor exercise, finding a vet on the road, etc. Thx!

My great-grandma had 3 and my mom has one, my cousin has one, and I have the third, so I'm a lucky duck that I have this one! Ah! thank you for such the sweet compliments about the cats! Jojo actually does get a little car sick if she has a full breakfast, so I've been giving her just the kibble portion of her breakfast and she does great. I'll definitely make an episode about my cats - thank you for the suggestion!

Honestly I didn’t track all my purchases, but I purchased my rig for $29k and put about $3k into upgrades on the inside (the wood stove was a huge chunk of that).
I love the instant pot, you can cook so much in it. How is the humidity/condensation? Love your cats and your home. Also, everyone talks about the size of their water tanks, but around how long can you go before refilling and emptying? Are there special maps for camping? I have only been camping one time, in the spring with snow on the ground, I didn't like that. I love that stove. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you!!! These are all great questions So far the humidity/condensation has been good!! The only time I’ve used the instant pot, I put the release valve right under my stove fan and have that push the air out. It’s also a bit contradictory but the best strategy for condensation, even in the cold is ventilation! So running your exhaust fan or cracking a window. With those things I have yet to see any build up of condensation. I was able to go three weeks before I needed to refill and empty my tanks! Granted, I was at a family members so I took showers inside but I did everything else as normal. What kind of special maps are you looking for? Do you mean for where you can camp? Or where you can refill/dump?
My apologies for not coming back to this comment until now!!! My favorite app has to be Campendium. It’s got all that you need in the app: where you can fill your water, where you can dump, and places you can stay! You can filter all those options by whether you want to pay anything or not. Sometimes it won’t say, but there will usually be a person who comments on the post and lets you know!

Please forgive me as I wasn’t looking at comments with new responses until just now!!!! I am SO GLAD this tour has shown you that you can handle this kind of space with you and your kitties! I hope you’re still feeling inspired about this lifestyle because you can truly do this. Yes, it’s a lot to learn BUT it’s a lot less intimidating that I thought it was going to be. You just have to START! Since this video has gone up, I’ve been posting videos on leveling, disconnecting, and more about how I do it alone. I hope those have been helping!
As for pulling/driving, I’m VERY lucky to have come from a family of semi-truck drivers, so I got some amazing lessons from them on how to handle this. The most helpful thing I find is making sure to have towing mirrors: the kind that have 2 mirrors on each side: one that points up to show you people in the lane next to you, and one that points down to show where your trailer is in your line. I often times get nervous and feel like I’m SO wide and not sure if I’m in my lane. With a quick flick of my eyes to each mirror I’m easily reassured that yes I am in my lane - or I see that I’m not and adjust myself.
You’ve made your trailer into a home. So pretty. I have 6 cats (and 4 dogs). We spent 3 years living full time in an RV but live in a home now. However, we are leaving tomorrow for a few months in the RV again. I love seeing others traveling with their pets and making it work. You have beautiful fur babies.

Would like to know how it was with your pac as I also have 4 dogs and 6 cats. Lost my 18 year old cat in Dec. dose are small with the exception of my 95 lb. German Shepard. Would love to hear about your experience.

@@dawnmarkey2194 my largest dog is 86 lbs, though he was almost 100 lbs when we left. The big dog is fine with the cats but the smaller dogs don’t care for them. My dogs weren’t raised with cats. So we tow a cargo trailer that we converted for the cats behind my SUV and my husband tows a fifth wheel for us and the dogs. The big dog and the cats travel in my car and the three smaller dogs travel in the truck.
Beautiful and functional and pet-friendly! THANK YOU so much for going over the bathroom section thoroughly. So many camper vids overlook this aspect and it's a major concern and point of interest for those of us contemplating this lifestyle. I love how you love your kitties!

I always taught my daughters that they can do anything if they set their mind to it, and from experience girls can often do it better because they do not charge in like a bull in a china shop. And for the record, I have employed girls to do what were supposed to be blokes jobs in the past and never been disappointed.

For those who aren't ready to install a bidet in their RV or van, there is a product out now called toilet paper spray that accomplishes much of what a bidet can do for you (only it leaves a "fresh scent" and I don't like to be reminded of what just transpired). Any spray bottle that mists and is filled with water would work. Just spray the toilet paper and use.
The place you parked is beautiful. When I think RV park my mind sees RV's packed in like sardines and occupied by either retired couples or characters from Trailer Park Boys. If you have found the secret of finding peaceful (and hopefully affordable) RV spots that is something that would make a nice episode for your channel. I only have 1 cat and plan on van life to escape civilization, but "the secret" to a peaceful parking spot close to civilization could be useful.

Lovely video, you 15yr old cat looks like a youngster!! I would love a bidet, they are not really a thing here in the Uk, only very posh houses mostly have them and for many homes there just isn't the space for one but yours is a really good option rather than have a separate bidet bowl.

Use the wood stove before cold weather, it has to off gas and burn off the chemicals first.

Not sure if you've used your wood stove already or not. But it's very important (according to girl in the woods and hubby) to use it for the first time outside your RV or home. The paint or coating on all of them is toxic, smells bad and once you use it for the first time, that burns off and you shouldn't have any problem after that. This includes the chimney as well.

@Boldly She Roams, I’m so excited to find your channel. I am a single female (older than you) and I travel in my truck and 20ft travel trailer (EPro 19BH). My travel companions are my 2 dogs and 2 cats. I have a home base, as I have a full time job that requires I show my face in the office 3days a week (Bummer!!). This means my travel is periodic, vacation time travel, but I really seek to cover as much territory as possible. I love your mods, and I especially relate to your love of popcorn (I’ve grown my own in my small backyard garden for years!). I an also say that replacing my RV toilet with my homemade diversion toilet has been one of my most favorite mods (I’m sticking with tp, though, as a bidet still uses precious water). This is your first video and the first I’ve watched, so it is likely I’ll binge through those you’ve posted since. I’m looking forward to sharing your adventure vicariously.😁😁

Ok hope you read this, it’s important! Your wood heater needs some changes before it gets turned on. It’s a fire hazard from what I can see lol..
1. Under and around the heater itself needs to be tiled so it doesn’t catch fire.
2. The curtains behind the heater/flue need to be removed they will catch fire.
3. The area travelling behind the flue all the way up to the ceiling needs to have a protective layer also, like a sheet of aluminium or thin steel or tile to keep the heat from setting fire to your wall. The flue is set to close to the wall.
Thank you so much! I know it doesn’t look like it but I promise the sheet metal below, behind, and on the side are all sheet metal with the proper thickness per the manufacturer requirements. The sheet metal behind and on the side have a 1 inch air gap to allow for air flow. Where my sheet metal ends, a double insulated pipe begins and that pipe only needs 2 inches of clearance to combustibles.
For sure though whenever the stove is on that curtain will be nowhere near that piping!
I can’t tell you how many emails I sent back and forth to the manufacturer to make sure I was correctly installing this thing, but again I very much appreciate you taking the time to make sure I have installed it right because a lot of people do not!! ❤️❤️❤️

Always love to see pawparents travelling or living on the road with their pawkiddies. Such cute babies! Glad to see the RV works for your little family, but I hope it's okay to ask since I've never (and probably never will) lived an adventurous RV life like yours: did you ever have a situation where your pawkids wandered outside the RV and sorta got lost somewhere? If yes how did you find them back or maybe prevent it from happening again?
Thank you! And what a great question. Thankfully they are really good about it and while they sometimes run to the door, they never charge out. I’m looking to get a tracker for them, but I’d probably just get one for Jojo. I’ve put her in a mesh tent outside once or twice and loves it. So she seems to be willing to explore outside when my boys couldn’t care less
@@boldlysheroams Good to know your babies are obedient ones. Yeah I think putting a tracker is better as cats are different from dogs, they can climb and hide in tiny spaces and therefore the chance of them going missing is I think higher. YESSS!!! You can do so it!!! Also doing this when their a kitten is the best because they adapt so much quicker than older cats. It took 1 single car ride for Jojo to be used to it and now she sleeps on my lap or right next to me when we drive
Loved watching your home tour & the introduction to your companions. You presented this very well, describing each area of your living space. The best thing IMO was the ambient lighting in your sleeping quarters--I suddenly imagined how lovely it must be in the evening/nights to be reading in bed, or listening to podcasts with your 3 friends. Also, that wood stove is going to be excellent!! You can boil water on top, enjoy the fire via the window plus heat or even over-heat your living space...you are in MI right? It should be amazing in the winter. Happy to follow a woman who decided to break free as you have done. Best of luck & can't wait to see more content.

Great looking home, and good luck on your adventures! I want to caution you that the real danger that exists with the woodstove is that in a small closed up space like an RV it will burn up all the oxygen creating a lethal situation. There are plenty of CO and propane monitors available, but trying to find a suitable low oxygen monitor is a bit more complicated which makes low oxygen the more dangerous condition. Do your research and find a satisfactory way to introduce adequate combustion air into the camper.
Thank you so much for this info! You can’t see it in this video, but I do have a direct air intake so oxygen from outside the camper is feeding the fire thus not stealing all my precious oxygen! But it is always best to be careful so I’ll surely look up that product!
@@boldlysheroams If you've got outside air coming in you should be good to go, I think that there is a formula floating around out there that would tell you if you have enough air coming in. Low oxygen conditions don't seem to be a concern until people start modifying their rigs, or doing custom builds.

I like seeing content from solo females also. I have a 24 foot class c that I upgraded to from a 14 foot AR One travel trailer. I like the extra room a lot and it isn't much longer than most bigger vans. I got tired of hitching and unhitching too. So nice to have found your channel. I would love to convert or add solar to my rig so I don't have to use the generator when boon docking.

I couldn’t imagine being in an RV with three cats. You really must like cats. It’s the cat box that give me problems. My son‘s got two cats, but they go outside. Love the woodstove. Looks like it is installed securely. Cute home young lady. My husband died five years ago., since then all five of our dogs and our two cats. That’s when I decided no more cats. But I just bought a 1989 Toyota dolphin. I’m nervous and I’ve must change some things that I can deal with it. I’m older and I wear a leg brace. I do have a dog a little Morkie named Bella. It turns out Ware. It’s too hard for me. I can always sell it. But I’m looking forward to doing the interior because I’m an artist fabric artist, and it’s gonna be a bark cloth heaven. I’ve been collecting bark cloth and new old stock bark cloth era fabrics for over a decade. Maybe I’m looking forward to decorating it more than going out in it. But that’s just nerves.

Normal clay cat litter is AWFUL. I use wood pellets and I will never, ever go back. I don’t have that typical cat litter stink that owners who use clay litter have. Mine just smells like wood and sawdust!

Ellen 1) where did you get your popcorn kettle and what material is the lid made of? My mother had a huge soup kettle like it. 2) the link to the cat water fountain diverts to the cat tree. I'm interested in the fountain. 3) your cats are the cutest. Do they get carsick? How about an episode on traveling with cats, how to keep them safe from escape, getting them enough indoor exercise, finding a vet on the road, etc. Thx!

The popcorn kettle is a cast iron kettle - but it's a family heirloom! My great-grandma had 3 and my mom has one, my cousin has one, and I have the third, so I'm a lucky duck that I have this one!
Ah! thank you for such the sweet compliments about the cats! Jojo actually does get a little car sick if she has a full breakfast, so I've been giving her just the kibble portion of her breakfast and she does great. I'll definitely make an episode about my cats - thank you for the suggestion!

Honestly I didn’t track all my purchases, but I purchased my rig for $29k and put about $3k into upgrades on the inside (the wood stove was a huge chunk of that).

I love the instant pot, you can cook so much in it. How is the humidity/condensation? Love your cats and your home. Also, everyone talks about the size of their water tanks, but around how long can you go before refilling and emptying? Are there special maps for camping? I have only been camping one time, in the spring with snow on the ground, I didn't like that. I love that stove. Thank you for sharing 😊

So far the humidity/condensation has been good!! The only time I’ve used the instant pot, I put the release valve right under my stove fan and have that push the air out. It’s also a bit contradictory but the best strategy for condensation, even in the cold is ventilation! So running your exhaust fan or cracking a window. With those things I have yet to see any build up of condensation.
I was able to go three weeks before I needed to refill and empty my tanks! Granted, I was at a family members so I took showers inside but I did everything else as normal.
What kind of special maps are you looking for? Do you mean for where you can camp? Or where you can refill/dump?

My apologies for not coming back to this comment until now!!! My favorite app has to be Campendium. It’s got all that you need in the app: where you can fill your water, where you can dump, and places you can stay! You can filter all those options by whether you want to pay anything or not. Sometimes it won’t say, but there will usually be a person who comments on the post and lets you know!
