We discovered Beartown while we were staying at Watoga in the 1980s. Loved it. There was a place nearby we also went to where this guy had all kinds of animals on his land. we went and fed apples to buffalo out of our hands. The kids loved it when they stuck out their huge tongues to take the apples from their hands.
I grew up in Hillsboro. Always took people that visited to Beartown and Droop Mountain Battlefield. Proposed to my wife at Droop Mountain Lookout Tower. Enjoy your videos
Thank you for the compliment, comments and subscribing. I love Beartown. It is the most underrated state park in West Virginia. It is absolutely beautiful.
@@Diamondvega1 It is great to visit. The boardwalk makes it an easy hike. I have read of some people taking their dogs. According to the website dogs are permitted but has to be on a leash. I hope that helps.
I wonder the same. The first time I found it was by accident. I just happened to see the sign and turned around and went back. I fell in love with the place the first time I saw it. The state needs to do a better job promoting it.
Thank you for sharing! stunning!
This is definitely going on my bucket list

I don't know why they don't promote this as I found it by accident while visiting relatives, small towns and backroads.
