originally the term tryhard meant noob, that you're a "tryhard" whem you always try so hard but still fail. That's why I find it so funny that so named "skilled" GTA players call themself tryhards when they abuse game mechs to get a high K/D😂 they are still noobs

The way people talk about modding/griefing makes me think I'm some kind of gta god. I've got 200 ish hours own pretty much everything in the game and I've never been killed or trolled so much I've had to leave a lobby. In fact I've out drove multiple modders trying to kill me. I've out drove dudes crashing into me with jets in a karuma, I've out drove an invisible dude chasing me with explosive bullets while i was on my delivery bike with a full load of acid. Just in the past week I've run into modders who just give money and xp, I went from level 110 to 378 in an hour (I also got a mil but I own every business and property so I don't really need money, I make enough millions myself)
But yeah idk what you guys are doing in your lobbies but maybe it's wrong.

While I’m in a group, I think out of both the new and old, I’m the only one that really plays GTA anymore. I miss my old group tho, despite the arguments, as it was probably the most fun I’ve ever had. Now I’ve really just got one friend that I met in middle school, and a few friends that we’ve met along the way. A couple of our friends just stopped making and joining parties, one went to fucking boarding school, and the rest kinda just stopped talking to said other friend and I.
Tbh that old group is the only reason I made a “The Boys” plate.

    1. The Never Ready. You want to start a mission that requires other players, they will never ready up. And when the mission starts after the countdown they will sit at the start until they are kicked from inactivity and restart your progress
    2. The Agent 47. This guy goes into passive mode and follows you until you forget about him. Then he pops out after a cooldown and goes Hitman to the back of your skull.

The 16th type of player is practically extinct these days; "The Racer." There was a group of us that had so much fun with the regular, stunt and whatever other types of races there are in the game. Sadly, outside of adding a few new Hot Ring tracks a year or so ago, Rockstar pretty much abandoned the racing content. Our group pretty much all met on GTA via racing, but we've all moved on to other racing games now. At least Broughy1322 keeps that candle burning.

I would say I am kind of a mix between “Money grinder”, “anti-griefer”, “Roleplayer”, “solo player” and “casual player”. There are times when I would fit into any of those categories (except I don't buy shark cards). It all depends on my current mood when I start the game. Some days I just want to grind businesses and try to make as much money as I possibly can. But other days I just want to play for fun and not caring at all if it earns me any money or not. For example, one period of time I played through all of the contact missions. They don’t give much money at all. But I wanted to play them for fun and I enjoyed it a lot, so it didn’t matter. Speaking of, I'll probably do that again soon.

Been fighting against those griefers for a hot minute now. It all kicked off back when I was a noob, just started playing online, trying to make some quick cash on sell missions. Then bam, this griefer shows up and blows my stuff to bits. It's kinda like a Batman type thing, you know? Not saying I'm Batman or anything, just got that whole "turning a bad experience into a mission" thing going on.
Fast forward a few years, still holding it down strong. Helping players deliver their cargo, giving rides to noobs, tossing out free Cayos, griefing THE griefers out of the lobby (ironic)- all while rocking a super mario outfit. Just your average Joe sippin' coffee, catching those early sunrises.

But the last year I’ve become a casual player, I hop on for a little while just driving around and chilling out. Thankfully haven’t spent a dime on shark cards, just living off my nest egg that I created from 10 years of grinding this game. I feel like some old dude reminiscing on “the good ol’ times” as I drive about, just truly appreciating the game in all its beauty rather than trying to be as hyper-efficient as possible like I had been for 90% of my playtime.

if the tryhard has morals he is the best, promise. i am „tryhard“ and i keep a couple of people around me that do i would consider tryhardy, too, great snipers, a grinder yesterday who i am close friends with since a year he wrote yesterday, he never does pvp only missions PvE, he wrote „but they dont know that if they shoot at me they have 4 pro pvp‘er returning fire“ so the tryhard can get frustrated because he doesnt have a community who invites him to have someone to protect and therefore keep him busy with fighting and practicing his sport which is pvp, so its pretty valueable as a tryhard to have some sense in my head of yeah i could randomkill this dude but i should not; to have morals ; my strategy always is to let the opponent start the fight but to finish the fight myself; there is a lot of players in this game who are really just in the mindset of it does not matter if they waste another players time by shooting at them ; so my reasonation for this whole thing is „there already is a lot of players trying to hurt me, so i dont have to create my own drama by doing the same“ so i dont randomkill i would still consider myself tryhardy but ee Griefers are worse i promise you most tryhards if they have morals dont start a fight unless they have a motive that was provided, therefore i would consider the cargogriefers worse because they dont have a motive to destroy cargo they just do it for fun and we are the ones as tryhards that kill the griefers for fun until they leave the lobby ❤️

I also still make noob mistakes, but "how to" videos from TGG and others have helped me quite a bit. I do Cayo regularly, Nightclub when it fills up and other stuff on 2x or 3x weeks. I've even taken advantage of the NC DJ view glitch to have my safes fill up while I'm out running errands, walking the dog, etc. I'd love to do the other heists just for the experience, but I'm a "learn by doing" type and would understand the frustration of the veterans with my inevitable mistakes.

On PC, from my personal experience the average 25+ player lobby has 3-4 modders in it, possibly more that are avoiding detection. The reason I bought a mod menu in the first place is because it's really difficult to PvP in the game without having your opponents turn on cheats as soon as you start beating them, and if you piss them off enough they can literally stop you from playing online entierly.
I always play with a mod menu not to gain any kind of intentional advantage in PvP, but to weed out people using godmode, infinite off radar, and other spineless tactics. That's not even mentioning how many cheaters there are in racing lobbies as well.

As a solo and casual player, i can relate to this video much. As for money drops from the good modders, from my personal experience with them (things aren't looking as bad as they say on pc) usually they can give you from 100-150k maximum, after that, rockstar blocks it saying it's an unauthorized transaction. Overall from my 2 years of experience on ps3 and about 2+ years on pc, i wouldn't say that pc isn't filled with modders, but at least they're less of them ever since rockstar started to ban them/or limiting their mod menu's as best as they can. It isn't ps3 era when a modder could've give you 12 milion without any consequences. As far as i have played on both of those platforms, most of the modders I've met were friendly towards me, and the mosr things we did in gta online were the heists when the modder could teleport us to the place without the additional driving. Overall, the modders in GTA aren't that bad as long as they don't lock you up in cages/teleport you to Vespucci beach only to blow you up which happened to me more than once during my gta online playthroughs.

I'm a grinder/car guy/solo player. I don't do car meets, but I do like to collect cars and motorcycles. I mostly play invite only sessions.

I came across a good modder once. First he teleported everyone to Chilliad so I thought he was bad, then I tried my luck and asked him if he could just teleport me to my objective. Feller was kind enough to do so.

I'm a solo player, and a roleplayer. I love playing as Pippi Longstocking in GTA Online.

Whenever I do join a public lobby, I definitely try my best to play the anti-griefer. Before the MKII nerf, I would go around in my P-45 and annoy MKII griefers. If there was a customization option to add a little MKII decal to your plane for every enemy mosquito killed, my Nokota would be covered in decals. I still absolutely love taking griefers attention away from grinders and keeping them busy, I can avoid getting killed for 5-10 minutes, long enough for the grinder to finish. I used to be a grinder years ago until I earned everything I wanted, so now I help others do the same. Respect to the grinders!

Mix of the car guy, solo, and casual minus buying shark cards. I enjoy collecting the classic cars, typically play alone, and when I do it is only on ocassion after my day job.

I like to often find low levels in lobbies and invite them to my CEO and teach them how to run Cayo and Casino. Made a fair few friends doing it and helped a lot of them start grinding.

Straight roleplayer here! To the extent that evertime, I would literally open my car trunk and approach it before equipping any weapons/gears since pulling them out of thin air would seem off and unrealistic

I’ve been doing the Joker scheme before the demon paint became a thing. Now I go around as a “Biker” Joker.
But I have a clean player rep and go around grinding because I spend money as soon as I get it lol😂

I'm one of those solo players out making paper but grinding out the little jobs owning so many business I don't have time for heists , kinda like a mobster going around maintaining my empire .

you forgot the collector, similar to car guy but instead of just buying every car that gets their fancy the collector is after the rare stuff, like super rare paintjobs, unlisted liveries, cars with unique body work like the panelless buggy or a hearse without a coffin, an insurgent pickup custom without a turret, a zhaba without fenders and basically anything else you can't jus hop into a menu to buy

I'm quite a couple of player types. The majority i'm the solo player, the casual one and the money grinder. When i'm playing in public lobbies i'm roleplaying as either a cop or taxi driver whilst staying in passive mode.

Personally I just like to chill and take on some small paying jobs, heists, and just have a good time. I also enjoy the passive mode as it keeps me from being randomly sniped, and keeps some creeps away too.
