  • Please join the CSIS International Security Program (ISP) and the U.S. Naval Institute for a Maritime Security Dialogue event featuring ADM Christopher Grady, USN, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. ADM Grady and RADM Raymond A. Spicer, USN (Ret.), chief executive officer and publisher, U.S. Naval Institute, will discuss how the Navy is helping to implement Joint Warfighting Concept 3.0, a renewed framework for addressing emerging threats and protecting America’s interests abroad. The Vice Chairman will share insights into how the joint force is working to innovate combat-ready capabilities faster than U.S. competitors. Dr. Seth G. Jones, CSIS senior vice president, Harold Brown Chair, and ISP director will offer opening remarks.
The Maritime Security Dialogue  series brings together CSIS and the U.S. Naval Institute, two of the nation's most respected non-partisan institutions. The series highlights the unique challenges facing the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard from national level maritime policy to naval concept development and program design. Given budgetary challenges, technological opportunities, and ongoing strategic adjustments, the nature and employment of U.S. maritime forces are likely to undergo significant change over the next ten to fifteen years. The Maritime Security Dialogue provides an unmatched forum for discussion of these issues with the nation’s maritime leaders.
This event is made possible by support from HII.

Godzilla is a machine that was made by the US military back in 1934

They dressed it up to look like Godzilla to make that film back in 1932 or 1934 and it was really one of those machines that you read about the war of the worlds film, but those machines are man-made from the planet earth by the US military

That’s how the whole island of Japan was wiped out somewhere. The US military has one of those stashed away. That person has died now and it’s sitting in some defunct bunker somewhere and I don’t want anybody to find it.

I've literally repeatedly died, spent thousands of hours critically thinking, analyzing a combination of Internet and local reality to properly strategically advise regarding matters about national security public health and safety law enforcement and counterterrorism. I've asked very little considering the immeasurable impact I've had and I would appreciate the one chapter of my life I ask for a bit of help I receive it because I gave all unofficially and non traditionalnally until I had nothing left. I can't stop you from ruining the US but you can at least help me dip out and go rest heal chill and enjoy the good life for once. Hell, I've even offered to return at later stages in the war healed up battle ready and technically skilled. You keep me useless in chains. There is no need to fear my final form battle buddy. I use my big brain for good.

Start learning more than laymans’ terms. Start learning how to identify problems and listen to the person telling you the nature of the problem.
Do you know who your congressional representative is? Have you ever written them? Write them now and tell them you want an end to funding the military through CRs. And other game playing.
Vote for candidates that want a strong and forward looking defense. Don’t vote for candidates that want to weaken defense and pull us out of alliances. Don’t vote candidates that want to put troops in the border. In other words, don’t vote for mental midgets.

From my perspective, I hear it as: "We aren't far enough ahead to win this with as big of a margin as we want."

It depends. If the conflict we're talking about is small and restrained, we're fine. Think Afghanistan. We can do that for decades.
In a total war environment (that avoided nuclear weapons obviously) we'd have trouble with replacement of material and personnel. It's possible that this situation would increase the likelihood of nuclear exchange ironically.

    • @joemendiuk

@@that_heretic ironically yes, unless of course such a scenario were instigated such that significant population would be elimnated to save the planet from some emergency of some kind or something. Then it might be a handy tool.
