Cherry Blossom Bonsai Spring Pruning
Prunus x yedoensis 'Akebono' (Yoshino Cherry)
This is my second air layer from my Cherry Blossom tree that I intend to make into a bonsai.
I wanted to shorten this tree a little bit because the top section is quite straight and not tapered.
I also shortened some of the other branches. I'm hoping it buds out in more places (like my other one did) to give me more options for the future.

Kitty sure wants to get in there! You are incredibly brave with your pruning! I need to get better at the pruning.

You can do it! It helps to practice on a tree that is forgiving. I'm finding with my two cherry trees that they seem to back-bud out of nowhere.
