  • Tennis training with Federico Gomez D1 college player:
    Country: Argentina 🇦🇷
    Age: 21
    Height: 6.2 ft / 1.89 mts
    University: Louisville D1
I been working with Federico for the last month, in preparation for a few futures in Europe (France, Italy).
We have been working hard on fitness, especially on a player like him. We focused on serve and volley, with agressive ground strokes with the idea of going to the net. I think his potencial is really good to play the ATP Tour. In 1 year when he finishes his college career, he will be ready to focus 100% in his professional career. We will be there to help him.

These are off slow volleys tho. It's very different generating the same speed and spin and accuracy when the ball is coming at you faster

@@joshuarowe8410 it's actually harder to generate speed when the ball is coming slow cuz then u can just use the opponents speed and power

Have you seen Federer's casual training videos? Roger hits a lot harder and doesn't even look like he's trying, unlike this guy. This guy looks incredible compared to 4.5 or 5.0 level players but he's not even close to the average ATP level in terms of his speed and movement. Federer at age 37 is a lot faster than him.

For all people that are wondering how he isnt on the atp
Most of the top 200 players when they train they beat the shit out of the best players in the world because they are so relaxed and just give 200% on every ball
But when they come on the court they dont play so good
Theres a reason why some people say-"if you play 70% of your training match youve done a good job"
Top 300 guys are all the same skill level just 90% percent of them are mentally bad or have injury problems

He just hits powerful, he won’t hit 25 balls in a row like that in a match and his footwork is way too much of an effort, it’s heavy movement and too many steps that will make him very tired during matches + we will have to watch him play points and when changing rhythm as only hitting hard is not everything, his game is still very very strong though

Federico obviously has a huge game and tons of talent, yet he has virtually no chance of making it as a professional tennis player. I really don't want that to sound like it is taking anything away from him, it's just a fact based on his results.

Despite all of the Power training athleticism excetera there's no guarantee that any player will do anything significant in the pros. It's just that competitive. On the other hand this guy and players like him would Step into the woman's tour and rise immediately to the top. These type of guys would also show up to the local neighborhood tennis courts and there will be casualties spewed all over the courts. Scary!

His hitting is insanely powerful but he won’t get anywhere if his balls are flying with 0 control to the moon man, his footwork is way too much effort, he should move effortlessly so that he can play at this level for 4-5 hours. His strokes are very good, but unconsistent, i’d love to see him play points and when changing rhythm as hitting only hard will not bring you to the top.

Would be interesting to see how he hits a high ball--everything being fed is in his strike zone. He hits the crap out of the ball though.

I can't help but feel there's something fishy about this video - does anyone feel that 1:29 is sped up? Look at his feet and when he's serving - it almost feels sped up; especially at 1:50; look at how quick the coach's walking speed is.

It’s not speed up my friend, that’s what you call intensity 😎

Typical modern coaching all based on power and hitting all the balls in the same way like a machine ignoring the most important thing in tennis: the mental approach and attitude to the matches.

In the training, he looks very solid. I was impressed. However when you check his career, he is big time loser. No mistake, he is not young. He is older than Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Zverev. Training and match are two different worlds

Hardy He speaks the truth! Training and actually playing a match are two different worlds. Check it out for yourself. Here’s his stats: His name is Federico Gomez from Argentina ! height 6-2. Full name is Federico Agustin Gomez… Nickname is Fede or Gordo… Birthdate is Nov. 26, 1996… Son of Marcelo Gomez and Patricia Perez… Has a sister, Camila and a brother, Rodrigo… Major is sport administration… Started playing tennis at age three… Best player he has ever faced was Nicolas Kicker who was ranked No. 90 in the world - Federico lost 6-2, 6-2… Favorite tennis memory was getting his first ATP point… Post college ambition is to become a professional tennis player… Favorite tennis player is Marat Safin.

@@8speedhellcat889 haha I think he means comparatively to the rest of the ATP. you guys are getting too butt hurt. of course he's damn good. exceptional compared to us. but when we're talking about the pro circuit, unless he works on his fitness, flexibility, and footwork, hitting the fuzz of the ball won't do him anything.

Mayur Patel I don’t understand how people think saying things like “oh 4 more games than you’ll ever get on him” is an argument or excuses them from the truth.
