This is the best way to do it. the higher the time frame...the stronger the signal. Stuff on 15 minute is just noise. signals are like impulse of the moment. think excited little dog running around. it's about that random. lol. yes they tell you something but the impact is at best temporary. the same signal on a 1 hour chart means something more significant. stick it on a 4 hour and i am paying serious attention. daily or bigger and it is a game changer.
with this said. if i see a signal that is saying something.... i am probably dropping down to the 15 and looking for the trigger. i already know where i want to get in. what i am looking for is the impulsive momentum. this is where the short time frames become important. is the market right now behaving the way i want it to. ya... it hit my magic number but do i like the impulsive nature.
