I believe to maximize regenerative braking happens when using one pedal driving. Because regenerative braking comes immediately into play when you even slightly release the accelerator pedal.

I'm an automotive photographer - I work independently and I used to work at a very high end car dealership, and I've driven / ridden in a LOT of crazy cars and trucks. The Tesla Plaid accelerates like nothing I've ever been in, including my grandpa's 66 Nova that he used to drag race. The Plaid is actually painful, it slaps your head into the seat whenever you launch it and you have a headache after doing 2-3 pulls in it. I've also had the opportunity to ride in a Velociraptor 600 - the suspension setup it had made the truck feel like it was floating, it didn't even feel connected to the road. I think a mild combination of the two, a 4x4 truck with the torque from electric motors would be an unbelievable experience and could tow damn near anything you could fit behind it. Combine that with all of the utility options the Lightning will have, and I honestly think you've got the best truck on the road at that point. I'd love to have the opportunity to drive or ride in one, but who knows how that's going to play out with the way the car market is currently. Additionally, with gas being as insane as it is right now, I bet every truck driver really wishes they could just plug in and charge. I can't wait to see what the electric trucks can do.
