Shirley has always been a very funny lady I love her sense of humor. But when you come Frome a family of 13 kids you know there's going to be a lot of laughs, because when you can't afford toys you learn to be creative with jokes. I know because my Mama had four boys and four girls. And my oldest brother was always cracking jokes, and me and my sister two years older we always made jokes of everything we found humor in anything. One time my Mother was whipping me, and then I noticed every time she slung the belt back to hit me hard she kept waking her own butt. And I could not even feel the whipping anymore because I noticed she was whipping herself just as hard as she hit me. I laughed so hard. She said oh it's funny now! I said oh no Mama then I remembered I better strike up some tears real quick so she think I had enough to end this whipping. But I could not wait to go tell my older sister why I started laughing. That was worth the beating. LOL
