Wow! Thanks Liz. I realize you went over Canopy several months ago, but I figured I would watch this before your Evergreen expansion. The game definitely has a ton of variety. At the same time, with all the “If this, then this…”, not something I would play during an evening requiring a mellow, mind simplification game! I thought I saw on BoardGameGeek that there was a possibility for a 3 and/or 4 player variant (i.e., besides the solo or 2-player game). Have you played it this way? Possibly, simply by adding all the expansions/variants? Or buying another game or add-on?
Hi Steve! Canopy: Evergreen is a standalone game that plays up to 4 players, so I suggest skipping the original, and holding out for Evergreen to hit the stores (I think it is available for preorder right now, and releases mid-October if I recall correctly). The solo mode for Canopy: Evergreen is slightly less fiddly. The first couple of games I was forgetting things, but that's normal for me. I think it was my fourth game that I recorded for the playthrough; when you watch that one, you will see I forgot a few things, but mostly it flows pretty smoothly. 🙂 Edit to add that I think I forget more things during the recorded playthroughs because I'm focused on also narrating my turns.
Oops, I submitted comment prior to seeing the last minute or so! ;)
