I'm 53 yo and I love SB19. I listen to Kpop casually but when I watched SB19 way back 2018 I already subscribed to their channel to support pinoy music but became addicted only last year.
SB19 doesn't lip sync, but they do have back track to assist them. The back track over powered by their live vocals. For example, have you noticed that at the AAA performance, Ken's part of Mana, you can hear the original, but he changed the pitch (high) so that you will know he's singing live.
Any pop are copying each other and sb19 have their own style and so with other pop so we cannot say that sb19 is copying kpop I b will say they were inspired
you mentioned Hagibis,,yes im an avid fan of Hagibis,,very catchy ang mga songs nila at sexy but of course i was young then than today im 61yo,,cute at macho sila noon,,macho n mga big boys n cla n maghagibis,,, unlike sb19 boys,,they started at young age,,mga gwapitos nmn ang mahalima

You both did great on this discussion. This is amazing and so many discussions and arguments that has been cleared. Everything on point. We all need to understand the culture and history it’s very important. Before we blur out anything out of context and without proper understanding where it comes from. Jay, Jessica Lee's family immigrated to the Philippines when she was still a little girl. She went to school there and learned English. That's how she speaks good English and Filipino.
Definitely is a BIG NO!!!!first thing and foremost PHILIPPINES is the land of good singers and talented people this is the fact that majority of people doesn't know about it specially outside the Philippines.

During the early 80’s when Voltes 5 became a hit in the Phil., the Nail Clippers consists of the SERRANO siblings (Diana Serrano, the eldest, became Sharon Cuneta’s vocal coach) was the group to cover the song, then they became popular in Japan & US. They even won singing competitions in Asia before Gary Valenciano.

The message of the song ''Anak' is the exact opposite of 'Mapa'. While the latter speaks of a child caring for the parents in gratitude and love for raising them, 'Anak' is about an ungrateful child who is defiant and disrespectful to the parents who have raised, nurtured and cared for her/him. So when they say that Mapa is the 21st century version of Anak, it is only because of the topic - which is the parent-child relationship.

PPOP is inspired by KPOP and KPOP is inspired by JPOP. Copycatting is just semantics. Every artist will always try to make a better of cover of another work.
Polyglots are nonnative speakers but speak the language. The difference between linguists and polyglots is one learned it properly through schooling the other is self study.
I shld say that Ppop copied not the Kpop style but THE WAY KPOPS are trained. The Kpop training technique was introduced by SBT to Filipino aspiring artists, the kind of training that we do not have here in the Phils- strict diet, body conditioning, rigid training in singing, dancing & acting, years of preparation before the debut, discipline in all aspect! Most of the trainings here in the Phils are all "shortcuts" esp if the artist has already the LOOKS! SB19 survived the drills and was honed by this technique, combined by their sheer talents and determination, giving distinction to their own sound, and boomm!!!- the birth of PPOP! We all knew the history of blood, sweat and tears poured into this movement and how it arrived at the success of SB19 (im always teary proud of our boys) 💙👑💙👑💙👑 BUT let's also give credits to the people who introduced the kind of system, technique and discipline that Filipino managers and artists DO NOT HAVE (let's admit it)... the 1000× practice for a single track?!! So THANK YOU SBT & Tatang Robin, in spite of all the issues, for betting on all the trainees before and started instilling this kind of discipline to our aspiring artists which benefitted most of the established and aspiring PPOPs in the Phils today ❤🎉 Kudos to sir chuck and sir jay for this very interesting vlog 👏👏👏

KPOP copied Idol Culture from Japan, and also copied Pop music from the west, from Michael Jackson to be exact, and kpop started to even became popular than Japan ‘s Idol culture. The same with Philippines, Ph already have Pop music ever since the 60’s/70’s, most likely we are the first in most Asian country to have Pop music due to our relationship with America where pop culture started.. Ppop is always been there, you can even find it from those Top hits magazines in your mother’s or grandma’s teenage days collections and kpop is not even known at that times.. Even tho we have ppop already, we don’t really used the terms IDOLS to the artists but instead we call them Singers or Celebrity.. Even tho i can say that PPOP is already been there since 60’s or later, i can still say that PPOP in todays era is definitely copied KPOP styles, just like Japan did, it’s not really a bad thing to do, KPOP has good strategy in terms of introducing their music.. Ppop started to used the term Idols instead of just calling them singers to suit the tastes of new generations, they also started to add dancing.. the songs is also too similar to kpop style.. but that’s how it really is, there is no difference coz all of em is also inspired by another country’s concepts..
I thought PPOP used the term artist instead of idol. Because I barely hear them say idols most of the time, they say artists, and I will correct you: from the 60's, they were already dancing while singing, but with a basic dance only with a few movements, but in the 90's and 20's, street boys and sexbomb changed it by doing choreograph dancing while singing; they already did it before KPOP did it.

This even answer how #hori7on was labelled GLOBAL POP. Its for globalization. Jessica is nailing it.
Horizon is different, global group pero sound KPOP no hate pero same na same yun genre music beats and style different to other ppop groups

Ppop as far as I concern is not copying Kpop.kpop istablist only in 20's but the Philippines already has boy group since 60's
Hi from USA!
Hello from the Philippines!
I love Jessica Lee. She can speak Ilonggo better than Tagalog. She is well spoken in English but was criticized by a Korean because she has a Filipino accent rather than an American accent.
Its not copying its an inspiration nor copying
KPOP copied Idol Culture from Japan, and also copied Pop music from the west, from Michael Jackson to be exact, and kpop started to even became popular than Japan ‘s Idol culture.

Even when they talk to KPOP idols, they use the word artist rather than idols like SB19 at AAA Awards Night.
Di ko naabutan ng live sayang
