Pa Elton was a mentor to Benson Idahosa for many years and the relationship was crucial in the early growth and expansion of Idahosa’s ministry. As Benson Idahosa once recalled: Thereafter, Pa Elton and I began to work together when I went to look for him at Ilesa, he adopted me as a son to work with. . . .Then Elton introduced me to many ministries on planet earth.”
Sydney Granville Elton played the most significant role in shaping Pentecostalism in Nigeria during its first half century. His impact on the movement was nothing short of revolutionary and his story is crucial to rediscovering the essence that created one of the most vibrant Pentecostal movements in the world. I shed a tear when I realized saints from Europe through missions sent money for missionaries like papa Elton to Africa. God bless them! And I was also touched by the testimony of papa Elton of how receptive to the Gospel the early converts in West Africa were in comparison to their Western counterparts and how the miraculous power of God made that possible.
This brings to mind once again how high and expensive this Gospel that has come to us as "cheap" today. The valuable prices paid, lives that were lost in the process, blossoming families that were forced to split in the course of this great movement. Again it shows nothing is too great a price to pay for the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We the modern day Christins should give with equal passion: resources, time, commitment, etc.

Papa used to the very best equipment in his ministry. Standard next to none and we can see this even in this long-time interview. Clear sound systems, good vehicles and excellent arrangement. Praise God papa fulfilled his time.

Glory be to God! I thank God for these great fathers and mother of pentecostal and charismatic revival in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. It is my heart cry that their labour shall never be in vain. May we be that generation to take the Church to the next level of greater glory yet reserved for these end-time. May the double portion of the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon them fall upon us for a fresh move of God and the advancement of His Kingdom plans & purpose in our time. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
