    Favorite shoe of 2021! Hands down! I find it difficult to choose any other of my shoes before I walk out the door.

      You’ve got me excited. I went into the runners shop an hour ago looking to buy the Endorphin Speed 2s but tried the Takumis on, got exited (length of the shop run and fit was great) and now I’m in my car watching this video.

    My surprise favorite road shoe of 2021! Absolutely amazing lockdown that, with the midsole, makes it feel like a lower-stack and more stable VaporFly 2. Happy New Year and thanks for your reviews.

    For me (mid/forefoot striker) it has a Faster and more stable feel that the Nike N% (and if there is one brand that is hit and miss with me, it is Adidas.....so was a pleasant suprise) great grip and toe off on the hill reps yesterday..... could even feel normal on the warm up/down......The eyelets are bad!....they take a bit of micro fiddling to get a good lockdown....although the laces are cheap and nasty, I think the eyelets are the issue...but the shoe is fantastic in feel and performance.

    Good review, very much a marmite shoe this one.
    Did a Parkrun in them and ended up being 3 minutes faster, granted there is a 3 month gap between my last one.
    I personally love them, they make me want to go ballistic.
    I have my first Hm coming up in march, so I will have to take them out for a half just to see how u fare.
    But my rc elite 2's are pretty quick anyway.
    But the lacing, yeah less said the better there.

      @TheRunTesters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yes, my laces did come undone mid-60sec rep early on haha! Thought I’d see if it ever happened again in case it was just sloppy work on my part

    Thanks for the review, I have different opinions and found it not as fast as the Adios Pro or the Next% based on personal time trials. It must be the thinner non-carbon rods which do not provide as much energy return as the carbon rods

      Thanks. We’ll def be aiming to get in races and will discuss how it shapes up versus those shoes in the main review. Still v hard to top the Vaporfly tbh

    Great review. Felt awesome for short distances, but couldn’t wear for 10k or above as too tight, mid foot and lateral side cramping,

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Ah that’s a shame, it will be interesting to see how Kieran finds the width, as I (Nick) have a narrow foot so don’t tend to struggle on that front.

    The price difference is far more severe in Australia. $360 AUD for the Adios Pro 2 compared to $280 AUD for the TS8.

    What would be your pick for a speed day/tempo day shoe between the Takumi Sen and the NB rebel v2? I like my endorphin speeds but would love something with a comparable ride but with better lockdown as I have a pretty narrow foot.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Takumi for sure, quicker than the rebel, which I prefer for easy and steady runs. Takumi pricier though!

      @@TheRunTesters thank you! You don’t find it to be too stripped down to use more as a tempo day or speed workout shoe vs purely for racing?

    Hi. Excelente review as always. Only one question, between the Tz8 and the adiosp2 which shoes more narrow on the midfoot, and do You think booth shoe are the same size largue? Thanks.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! The Takumi is a little narrower around the midfoot for me, and also slightly tighter in the toe box. Both work in my normal size, but Takumi in general a little tighter.

    How is it compared to the v1 rc elite? The stack seems similar albeit rc v1 had less drop.

    unfortunately it's not available in Canada... but I'm wondering how it compares to Adios 6.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah that’s a shame, and apologies the Adios 6 is one that slipped through our testing net last year, so can’t compare. Hopefully someone has tried both and can jump in and comment!

      I find the Adios 6 pretty close to the Boston 9... with maybe 10% more responsiveness and 5% more cushioning... so maybe compared to Boston 9s? ;)

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha, the last Boston I tested was I think the 6 or 7 - the Takumi Sen 8 is a lot softer and bouncier for me, though that’s on memory as haven’t dug those Bostons out for a while! Boston more stable for sure, really loved that shoe, crazy how much things have changed in shoes since then

    Would they work on even longer races above 10k, like half marathon?

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes i think they would, but the more cushioned full carbon plate shoes would be my preferred pick still
