I am right there with you. 2 early losses(6&8weeks). My ivf dr keeps saying he doesn't understand why as its unexplained. We are now going with a gestational carrier. I do plan to try again one day. I'm just praying for my take home baby/babies. This journey is very hard. I do realize now we are strong and we are fighters. As we keep fighting to have our families.
This may sound strange and I know the struggle is difficult but you look happier now that you have an answer. As if one weight has been lifted off your shoulders! So wonderful you are finally getting some real answers. I was dx with unexplained infertility 25 years ago. I went through 2 years of "treatments" (not nearly as much as you have!) and finally achieved a perfect pregnancy which resulted in my son through my first IVF fresh cycle. My next frozen embryo attempt failed and we went on to adopt our 2 daughters. I wish you SO much luck and love in the upcoming year. You will be a wonderful mother to your child.

Celeste, this video is amazing! I too have unexlained RPL (6 miscarriages) and elevated NK cells.... DQ-alpha and HLA testing are the only tests we HAVE NOT done yet because our fertility clinic (Yale) doesn't believe in it but now we will definitely insist on having it done. I would also HIGHLY recommend another book called "It Starts with the Egg" by Rebecca Fett, lots of my friends had MUCH improved IVF success after following the tips in the book. This is so amazing. I feel fertility specialists should more freely offer tests such as this before charging $10K or more for an IVF cycle. All these things make me wonder if this is why my husband and I could never have a successful transfer. It's too late for us now, but I'm happy to see the advances in fertility treatment and the things they are discovering each and every day. As quickly as new information on treatment is gathered, information that changes views on how past approaches were handled, and considering how often current treatments end without pregnancy, I feel no fertility specialist should consider him or herself an expert and should be open to study and learn new techniques. They should take advantage of new tests that give answers before jumping in head first and treating a couple the same way as before with only minor tweaks ultimately ending in tremendous heartbreak. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge. I have no doubt you have given many couples information they can present to their doctors and I have no doubt there are many doctors who have very little knowledge of this. This is a reminder to all to never stop learning, even when you are the best of the best.

Thank goodness you didn't give up and kept pushing to get the testing done that you needed!! I just cannot believe your previous doctors were so resistant to checking every possible option because obviously their treatments weren't working!! Ugh! I'm so happy you have something new to try and hopefully 2018 will be your year!! Is there more information about concerns for a future baby if they do end up with some of those autoimmune issues mentioned in the book? Hopefully knowing about the possibility in advance could help?
Celeste, I just ordered this book and made an appt. With a RI. Just had a loss at 8 weeks of my pgs tested embryo. Had three prior chemicals and 1 failed FET. Enough is enough. I need answers. I pray the treatments you do get you your baby and I pray the same for myself. You are in my thoughts. This path is so hard, particularly with RPL. The emotional pain, physical stress and financial toll is overwhelming. ❤❤❤❤

10-15 percent of couples! That means it is seemingly rare and most doctors probably don't see it. I am so deeply happy that you were your own advocate and pushed for the answers that you deserved to have. I can't imagine how you are feeling. I have learned that anything TTC related is stressful when you have nothing but failed cycles and losses(even when successful, it doesn't feel real and the fear is always there). Throughout your treatments for this- keep in mind how hard you worked and how far you have come. There is a reason for that. You will have a baby in your arms. I am so, so happy for you.

JourneyToParenthood Definitely worth getting your NK cell levels checked, before even investigating the DQ Alpha gene. Without the elevated NK cell levels, the matching gene doesn’t matter. Hopefully you get some answers soon! 😘

I'm so glad you got your hands on a copy of this book. I feel so strongly that it's THE go-to book for unexplained infertility. I was also surprised at how many 'specialists' who hadn't even heard of it. I used to take notes from it and take it to my appointments. If a consultant hadn't heard of the book, I used it as my gauge to whether they would be helpful and open-minded.

You have an answer! I pray for you and your husband as you continue to work with your doctor. It AMAZES me how intricate our bodies truly are. After hearing the information you shared...there is no way a doctor can get away with that answer: "unexplained infertility" you just have to dig deeper and search for the source. Sadly, it seems many of the trusted health professions we depend on don't want to do this deep of a search. It saddens me but with your videos you are helping so many open their eyes to this truth.

That’s so crazy that you had to basically figure this all out yourself! I have that book (I have autoimmune issues too 😭). So hoping that treatment is the trick for you (or maybe if they have to add ivig or something). Autoimmune issues suck because they don’t really have. A good grasp on why it happens, but amazing how they know so much about compatibility. 23&me used to have a section for that, but they’ve phased it out..... I can’t remember what our results were.

Wow! I really hope this is the answer you’ve been searching for! I’m so glad that you finally found a specialist that is thorough and is determined in finding answers just as you are. In your previous video, you mentioned that you have a positive ANA. Has your new specialist mentioned anything on that? When I was 17, I found out I had a positive ANA. I have indicators of Lupus, but have never been diagnosed. I’ve always worried that having a positive ANA could have an effect on becoming pregnant/risks of miscarriage. My current doctor says “it’s nothing to worry about” but I’m not so convinced of that.
Phylicia April Thank you! 💕 Yes, I’ve been told multiple times that the positive ANA is nothing to worry about, but this new specialist said it’s still an indicator of some kind of inflammation in the body, even in the absence of an autoimmune disease, & should still be taken into account. Hi Celeste. I just wanted to say a quick thank you for this information. I went and bought the book right after watching your video. My husband and I have had 4 failed transfers (IVF and FET) and have another WTF appointment coming up next week. I will surely be asking be asking about this gene and any other possible causes of complete implantation failure. Thank you again. Your videos are so informative. I am so happy you finally have a doctor who is taking the extra steps to help you get to where you dreamed to be but I am sad that this test was looked over and not done for you earlier. I swear, if they would just do these tests in the first place, so many people wouldn't have to go through hell trying to have a baby. It took me FOUR fertility doctors to get one to actually listen to me & just do the autoimmune protocol. The other three didn't believe autoimmune issues caused fertility problems (even for someone with a known autoimmune disease!). I am so glad you finally have some answers! I hope this treatment will work for you!
Ive always followed your journey. I just want to tell you last time I was going to do my IVF with the same Doctor that didn't work and had a miscarriage. I made an appointment with him to do a new IVF and while I was sitting there I was the one asking him ok so what are we going to do different this time and what about new tests and he didn't gave me a straight answer only that he was going to do basically the same thing that he did before. After I left the office I had a bad feeling and I decided to go with another Doctor and it has been a blessing. Quite a big difference because unfortunately some Doctors not all..they take advantage of our situation and the deep desire to be mothers that they only see a dollar sign in our face. Im glad that I change to my new Doctor. I do hope this year you get the miracle of being parents.

So wonderful you are finally getting some real answers. I was dx with unexplained infertility 25 years ago. I went through 2 years of "treatments" (not nearly as much as you have!) and finally achieved a perfect pregnancy which resulted in my son through my first IVF fresh cycle. My next frozen embryo attempt failed and we went on to adopt our 2 daughters. I wish you SO much luck and love in the upcoming year. You will be a wonderful mother to your child.

Celeste, this video is amazing! I too have unexlained RPL (6 miscarriages) and elevated NK cells.... DQ-alpha and HLA testing are the only tests we HAVE NOT done yet because our fertility clinic (Yale) doesn't believe in it but now we will definitely insist on having it done. I would also HIGHLY recommend another book called "It Starts with the Egg" by Rebecca Fett, lots of my friends had MUCH improved IVF success after following the tips in the book. This is so amazing. I feel fertility specialists should more freely offer tests such as this before charging $10K or more for an IVF cycle. All these things make me wonder if this is why my husband and I could never have a successful transfer. It's too late for us now, but I'm happy to see the advances in fertility treatment and the things they are discovering each and every day. As quickly as new information on treatment is gathered, information that changes views on how past approaches were handled, and considering how often current treatments end without pregnancy, I feel no fertility specialist should consider him or herself an expert and should be open to study and learn new techniques. They should take advantage of new tests that give answers before jumping in head first and treating a couple the same way as before with only minor tweaks ultimately ending in tremendous heartbreak. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge. I have no doubt you have given many couples information they can present to their doctors and I have no doubt there are many doctors who have very little knowledge of this. This is a reminder to all to never stop learning, even when you are the best of the best.

Thank goodness you didn't give up and kept pushing to get the testing done that you needed!! I just cannot believe your previous doctors were so resistant to checking every possible option because obviously their treatments weren't working!! Ugh! I'm so happy you have something new to try and hopefully 2018 will be your year!! Is there more information about concerns for a future baby if they do end up with some of those autoimmune issues mentioned in the book? Hopefully knowing about the possibility in advance could help?

Celeste, I just ordered this book and made an appt. With a RI. Just had a loss at 8 weeks of my pgs tested embryo. Had three prior chemicals and 1 failed FET. Enough is enough. I need answers. I pray the treatments you do get you your baby and I pray the same for myself. You are in my thoughts. This path is so hard, particularly with RPL. The emotional pain, physical stress and financial toll is overwhelming. ❤❤❤❤

10-15 percent of couples! That means it is seemingly rare and most doctors probably don't see it. I am so deeply happy that you were your own advocate and pushed for the answers that you deserved to have. I can't imagine how you are feeling. I have learned that anything TTC related is stressful when you have nothing but failed cycles and losses(even when successful, it doesn't feel real and the fear is always there). Throughout your treatments for this- keep in mind how hard you worked and how far you have come. There is a reason for that. You will have a baby in your arms. I am so, so happy for you.

I'm so glad you got your hands on a copy of this book. I feel so strongly that it's THE go-to book for unexplained infertility. I was also surprised at how many 'specialists' who hadn't even heard of it. I used to take notes from it and take it to my appointments. If a consultant hadn't heard of the book, I used it as my gauge to whether they would be helpful and open-minded.

You have an answer! I pray for you and your husband as you continue to work with your doctor. It AMAZES me how intricate our bodies truly are. After hearing the information you shared...there is no way a doctor can get away with that answer: "unexplained infertility" you just have to dig deeper and search for the source. Sadly, it seems many of the trusted health professions we depend on don't want to do this deep of a search. It saddens me but with your videos you are helping so many open their eyes to this truth.

That’s so crazy that you had to basically figure this all out yourself! I have that book (I have autoimmune issues too 😭). So hoping that treatment is the trick for you (or maybe if they have to add ivig or something). Autoimmune issues suck because they don’t really have. A good grasp on why it happens, but amazing how they know so much about compatibility. 23&me used to have a section for that, but they’ve phased it out..... I can’t remember what our results were.

Wow! I really hope this is the answer you’ve been searching for! I’m so glad that you finally found a specialist that is thorough and is determined in finding answers just as you are.
In your previous video, you mentioned that you have a positive ANA. Has your new specialist mentioned anything on that? When I was 17, I found out I had a positive ANA. I have indicators of Lupus, but have never been diagnosed. I’ve always worried that having a positive ANA could have an effect on becoming pregnant/risks of miscarriage. My current doctor says “it’s nothing to worry about” but I’m not so convinced of that.
Phylicia April Thank you! 💕 Yes, I’ve been told multiple times that the positive ANA is nothing to worry about, but this new specialist said it’s still an indicator of some kind of inflammation in the body, even in the absence of an autoimmune disease, & should still be taken into account. I swear, if they would just do these tests in the first place, so many people wouldn't have to go through hell trying to have a baby. It took me FOUR fertility doctors to get one to actually listen to me & just do the autoimmune protocol. The other three didn't believe autoimmune issues caused fertility problems (even for someone with a known autoimmune disease!). I am so glad you finally have some answers! I hope this treatment will work for you!

Ive always followed your journey. I just want to tell you last time I was going to do my IVF with the same Doctor that didn't work and had a miscarriage. I made an appointment with him to do a new IVF and while I was sitting there I was the one asking him ok so what are we going to do different this time and what about new tests and he didn't gave me a straight answer only that he was going to do basically the same thing that he did before. After I left the office I had a bad feeling and I decided to go with another Doctor and it has been a blessing. Quite a big difference because unfortunately some Doctors not all..they take advantage of our situation and the deep desire to be mothers that they only see a dollar sign in our face. Im glad that I change to my new Doctor. I do hope this year you get the miracle of being parents.

Crazy to say this but I think it’s a relief that you found out the reason why and that just means your one step closer to your baby! I just wished the other fertility doctors tested earlier instead of letting you go through so many heartbreaks....but so far looks like things are going on the right track with your tubes being cleared and you now knowing what’s wrong and getting help for it!
